Analysis and Design of Slope Retention system / Rockfall protection / barrier
Preparing Final Analysis & Design Report and Site-use drawings for Slope retention system / Rockfall protection / barrier (Design life 50 years minimum) using input parameters viz. Pull-out test values, various physical and shear parameters from Geotechnical investigation report, etc. all complete and submitting the same in three Hard copies along with Soft copy in Pendrive. Note:- a) Soft copy of Geotechnical investigation report available with Department is enclosed for reference. b) Tentative length and height of hill along with strata at different sections / locations is enclosed for reference only.
Vetting of Final Analysis & Design report and Site-use drawings for Hill slope protection from IITs / NITs
Execution of Proposed Hill protection works for height up to 12m approx. including all scaffolding, hoists, tools, equipments, instruments, machinery, material, labour etc. all complete as directed by Engineer In charge. Note: a) Voids @ 20% for soils and 50% for soft rock / hard rock shall be deducted from corresponding stack / truck measurements to arrive at the net quantity for payment in case direct measurement is not possible.
Removal of vegetation, bushes, shrubs, grass, trees and saplings of girth up to 30 cm measured at a height of 1.0 m above ground level, in lower & upper sections of hill, including stacking of useful materials, disposing of material within Anushaktinagar area or outside as directed by Engineer-in-charge (payment to be made on basis of area cleared)
Scrubbing loose boulders of any size on the surface, collecting the loose boulders at the bottom of slope including all lifts & machinery etc. complete and disposing of material within Anushaktinagar area or outside as directed by Engineer-in-charge
Drilling and installation of 32mm diameter Self-Drilling Anchor (SDA) R32N in soil / murrum at 15 degree (or as per design) declination with horizontal, using sacrificial drilling bit of 50mm diameter having grout flushing holes, up to depth and spacings as per approved design / drgs., including cost of galvanized bearing plate of approved size, galvanized hexagonal nut of approved length & washer, epoxy coat on SDA, threading of anchor bar at one end, coupler of approved length, PVC centralizer at 2.5m c/c spacing, supply & injecting non-shrink grout of minimum grade M30 with water-cement ratio of 0.45 to 0.5, with material, labour and all required machinery, including conducting Initial and Confirmatory Pull-out tests conforming to IS : 11309 (latest revision), all complete as per technical specification and as directed by Engineer-in-charge but excluding cost of SDA which will be paid under separate item. Note: a) Initial Pull-out test on SDA shall be carried out prior to actual construction, on minimum 01 no. for test load of 2.0 times Design load or up to failure (whichever is earlier) to check their adequacy w.r.t. Design load. b) Confirmatory Pull-out test on SDA shall be carried out during actual construction, on 1% of total anchors installed for test load of 1.1 times Design load. c) Reports of Initial and Confirmatory Pull-out tests shall be submitted to Engineer-in-charge.
Drilling of 115mm diameter hole in soil / soft rock / hard rock at 15 degree (or as per design) declination with horizontal and installation of 32mm diameter TMT bar, up to depth and spacings as per approved design / drgs., including cost of galvanized bearing plate of approved size, galvanized hexagonal nut of approved length & washer, epoxy coat on TMT bar, threading of TMT bar at one end, coupler of approved length, PVC centralizer at 2.5m c/c spacing, temporary casing (if required) for stabilization of drilled hole, supply & injecting non-shrink grout of minimum grade M30 with water-cement ratio of 0.4 to 0.5, with material, labour and all required machinery, including conducting Initial and Confirmatory Pull-out tests conforming to IS : 11309 (latest revision), all complete as per technical specification and as directed by Engineer-in-charge but excluding cost of TMT bar which will be paid under separate item. Note: a) Initial Pull-out test on Soil nails shall be carried out prior to actual construction, on minimum 01 no. in each type of strata (soft rock / hard rock) separately for test load of 2.0 times Design load or up to failure (whichever is earlier) to check their adequacy w.r.t. Design load. b) Confirmatory Pull-out test on Soil nails shall be carried out during actual construction, on 1% of total anchors installed in each type of strata (soft rock / hard rock) separately for test load of 1.1 times Design load. c) Reports of Initial and Confirmatory Pull-out tests shall be submitted to Engineer-in-charge. d) Bleeding test (as per ASTM C940) or Flow cone test (as per ASTM C939) and Compressive strength test on cubes for M30 grout shall be carried out prior to grouting works at site to determine suitability of proposed materials, mix proportion etc. and Test report for same shall be submitted to EIC.
Drilling of 115mm diameter Drainage weep holes in hill slope at 5 to 15 degree (or as per design) inclination with horizontal, up to depth and spacings as per approved design / drgs. in all types of strata (soil / soft rock) as well as providing and laying perforated PVC pipe (pressure 4 kg/cm2) wrapped with approved geotextile / filter media, including cost of material, labour, machinery, temporary casing (if required) for stabilization of drilled hole in soil strata, all complete as per technical specification and as directed by Engineer-in-charge
Supply of Self-Drilling Anchor (SDA) R32N having nominal OD of 32mm & Nominal ID of 20.5mm, nominal weight of 2.9 kg/m of specified length, minimum Yield load of 230 kN, minimum ultimate load of 280 kN, as per approved specification and make, including testing etc. all complete conforming to BS EN 10083-1:2006.
Supply of 32mm diameter TMT (Thermo Mechanically Treated) steel bars of grade Fe500 and manufactured by SAIL, TATA steel & RINL only, including testing etc. all complete conforming to IS 1786 : 2008
Providing, spreading and fixing steel wire grid / mesh Geo-composite, made of mechanically woven, double twisted, hexagonal shaped steel wire mesh netting of mesh wire diameter 2.7/3.7mm (ID/OD), heavily Zn + PVC coated and mesh type 10x12, minimum Tensile strength 350 to 550 N/mm2 and minimum 10% elongation of wire, interlaced during manufacturing with 8mm steel wire ropes in longitudinal direction at 3.0m spacing including top & bottom support ropes, lacing wires or ropes required to connect the nets and all accessories such as U-clamps, thimbles etc. required to fix the wire mesh geocomposite in place (testing procedures and technical specifications shall conform to clause 4.4 and 5.3.3 of IRC HRB Special Report 23 respectively). The rates quoted shall include material, labour, machinery, ancillary works, testing etc., all complete as per technical specifications or equivalent or of higher specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Supply and fixing of three dimensional erosion control Geomats manufactured by stitching together 3 layers of integral, rigid geogrids manufactured from polypropylene polymer to create a random open structure and one layer of woven polyester geogrid embedded in between the layers. The junctions between the longitudinal and transversal ribs of the polypropylene shall be an integral part of the geogrid structure and shall under no circumstances be obtained by weaving, knitting or bonding single threads or other tensile elements. The external layers shall be planar while the central layer shall be mechanically corrugated. The upper layer shall be capable of retaining the top soil material without soil washout. The product should have minimum thickness of 18mm and aperture size of mesh as 12mm. The tensile strength of geomat should be 35 kN/m and minimum mass per unit area should be 500 gsm. The rates quoted shall include material, labour, machinery, necessary acessories like U-pins etc. required for fixing the erosion control mats in place (testing procedures and technical specifications of erosion control mats shall conform to Table 700-14 and clause 706 of MORTH speciffications for Road & Bridge works (fifth revision)), all complete as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Providing, spreading and fixing galvanized Rhomboidal shaped Cable panel / Net, made up of 10mm diameter steel wire rope of opening size 300 x 300mm and with perimetral rope of 10mm diameter (Rope grade / tensile designation 1770 N/mm2), with high strength knot connection at junctions of wire rope panel made of 3mm diameter steel wire double knots, having minimum tear resistance of 15 kN, minimum pull-apart strength of 10 kN, minimum punch strength of 370 kN with maximum displacement of 33cm and minimum 63 kN breaking load of wire rope. Each Rhomboidal cable panel / net shall be made of one single cable including top & bottom support rope, lacing wire or rope required to connect the nets and all accessories such as U-clamps, turn buckles, thimbles etc. complete, required to fix the steel wire rope panels in place (testing procedures and technical specifications of steel wire rope panels shall conform to clause 4.4 and 5.3.1.1 of IRC HRB Special Report 23 respectively). The rates quoted shall include material, labour, machinery, ancillary works, testing etc. all complete as per technical specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Providing and placing Dry-mix Shotcrete conforming to IS : 9012 (latest revision) using polypropylene fibres (dosage 2.5 kg/m3 of concrete, tensile strength 275 to 425 N/mm2, density 900 to 920 kg/m3, water absorption zero) with minimum M30 grade of Ready mix concrete using 400 kg/cum cement content and 10mm down coarse aggregate. The thickness of shotcrete is 100mm. Concrete is to be pumped through a hose and projected at high velocity on to the desired surface which shall be maintained in damp / moist condition for 3 hours prior to application of shotcrete. Construction joint, wherever required, shall be prepped within first 30 minutes of placing fresh concrete by tapering the joint to a thin edge over width of about 300mm and roughening the surface of joint with stiff broom or brush. Curing of shotcrete shall be done by continuously wetting the surface for at least 7 days. The rates quoted shall include materials, labour, tools & plants, testing, etc. all complete as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Note: a) Pre-construction testing of Shotcrete shall be carried out by conducting compression test on cubes / cores taken from Test panels simulating actual site conditions, fabricated by operating staff using equipment, materials and mix proportions proposed for the job, all per IS : 9012 (latest revision). Also, Test report shall be submitted to EIC. b) Quality control of Shotcrete shall be as per clause 8.12 of IS : 9012 (latest revision) c) Acceptance of Shotcrete including Sampling frequency shall be conforming to IS : 456 (latest revision) d) For payment, exposed Surface area of Shotcrete will be measured only and then same will be multiplied by 100mm thickness to arrive at the quantity. No extra payment will be made for wastages etc.
Providing and installation of mechanically woven, double twisted, hexagonal shaped steel wire mesh Gabions of required size along with partitions at every 1m interval, made of Mesh type 8x10 (D=80mm), Mesh wire diameter 2.7/3.7mm (ID/OD), Edge/Selvedge wire diameter 3.4/4.4mm (ID/OD), Lacing wire diameter 2.2/3.2mm (ID/OD), Zn + Polymer (PVC) coated (nominal thickness 0.5mm, minimum thickness 0.4mm), minimum Tensile strength of wire 350 to 550 N/mm2 as per IS 280 at minimum elongation of 10% performed on gauge length of test specimen as 200mm, minimum mass of Zinc coating 260 gsm conforming to IS 4826 heavily coated and soft type, all as per IS 16014 : 2018, including placing in position at indicated places in dry condition, supply and filling of stones (stone size range between 1.5 to 2.5 times mesh opening) of minimum density 22 kN/cum at easily accessible location, all complete including materials, labour, tools & plants, testing as per direction of Engineer-in-charge
Supply and installation of Non-woven Geo-composite Deck drain to act as drainage media for water to seep down the slope, comprising of HDPE core with geotextile filter thermally bonded to one side, having minimum tensile strength 24/23 kN/m (MD/CMD) and elongation at peak of 45% conforming to EN ISO10319-2015, In-plane water flow of 0.95, 0.75, 0.60 l/m-sec @ 20, 100, 200 kPa respectively under hydarulic gradient (HG) of 1.0 and In-plane water flow of 0.25, 0.2, 0.15 l/m-sec @ 20, 100, 200 kPA respectively under HG of 0.1 conforming to EN ISO 12958-1:2020, including materials, labour, tools & plants, accessories, testing etc. all complete as per direction of Engineer-in-charge

Providing & fixing in position 50x50x4mm thick Chain link GI mesh conforming to IS 2721 - latest revision (mass of zinc coating 290 gsm minimum), including strengthening with 2mm diameter wire or GI nuts, bolts, washers and necessary "U" hooks, clips or nails, using drilling machine etc. at all levels and locations, wherever required, as per specifications, drawings and as directed by Engineer-in-charge (only area of mesh provided shall be measured for payment)
