(ii) Measurement for payment shall be made in litres (Ltr) of primer actually supplied and accepted at site.
(iii) Primer shall be supplied only in original sealed packing of approved brand. Repacked, damaged, partially used or unsealed containers shall not be accepted.

| 9 | Labour only for preparation of existing surfaces already prepared by removing loose particles, dust, dirt and other foreign matter using brooms, brushes or other approved means, applying one coat of primer and after that applying two coats of approved acrylic exterior emulsion paint in the specified camouflage pattern. The paint shall be applied by brush, roller or airless spray gun as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge and in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations to achieve a uniform finish and camouflage pattern, complete in all respects as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
Notes : (a) The cost of collecting paint, primer and other materials from AGE B/R Store Yard and transporting the same to the work site as per day-to-day requirements shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate. Nothing extra shall be paid on this account.
(b) Dilution of primer and paint with clean water shall be carried out strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. As a general guideline, dilution shall be approximately 35% to 40% by volume for application by brush or roller and 40% to 45% by volume for application by spray gun, unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer. Only such quantity of paint as is intended for same-day use shall be diluted.
(c) A minimum interval of 4 to 6 hours, or as recommended by the manufacturer, shall be maintained between successive coats to ensure proper drying and curing.
(d) Double scaffolding, staging, ladders, working platforms and all other access arrangements required for execution of the work at any height shall be provided by the Contractor. The cost thereof shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate and nothing extra shall be paid on this account.
(e) The Contractor shall provide all necessary safety measures and personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety helmets, harnesses, gloves, goggles, safety shoes and other protective equipment to the workers as required. The cost thereof shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate and nothing extra shall be paid on this account.
(f) Execution of work on perimeter walls or in areas affected by electric fencing shall be carried out only after obtaining necessary clearance and permission from the Engineer-in-Charge. Such work shall be completed within the time period specified by the Engineer-in-Charge for that particular area. Immediately upon completion of the work, or on expiry of the permitted working period, whichever is earlier, the Contractor shall inform the Engineer-in-Charge or his authorised representative for inspection, restoration of security arrangements and closure of the work permit. No claim whatsoever shall be entertained on account of restrictions imposed for security or operational reasons.

| 10 | Material and labour for complete removal of existing treatment of any type and description (irrespective of number of layers) from the external surfaces of Overhead Water Tank (OHT) of height 15 m to 18 m and capacity 50,000 to 75,000 gallons, including tank shell, dome, staging, pillars, columns, ring beams, staircases, landings and all other appurtenant portions, by scraping with steel patti, steel wire brushes or other approved mechanical means, and preparing the surfaces for further treatment complete from bottom to top of the tank. The work shall further include applying two coats of premium quality water-based exterior emulsion paint based on 100% acrylic binder with silicone additives, having VOC content not exceeding 50 g/litre when tested in accordance with IS 101 (Part 2/Sec 2) and UV resistance conforming to IS 15489:2004 or latest revision, of approved brand and manufacture, in camouflage pattern using 4 to 5 approved colour shades as per pattern approved by the Engineer-in-Charge. The paint shall have a coverage capacity of approximately 6.5 to 7.5 square metres per litre for two coats and shall be applied over one coat of alkali-resistant water-based exterior primer of the same make having a coverage capacity of approximately 11 to 14 square metres per litre per coat, the paint shall be applied by brush, roller or airless spray gun as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge and in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations to achieve a uniform finish and camouflage pattern, complete in all respects as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Notes : (i) Any patch repair to plaster work, found necessary during execution, shall be carried out before commencement of painting work. The cost thereof shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rate and nothing extra shall be paid on this account. (ii) A minimum interval of 4 to 6 hours, or such duration as recommended by the manufacturer, shall be maintained between successive coats to ensure proper drying, curing and adhesion of the paint system. (iii) Scaffolding, staging, ladders, suspended platforms and all other access arrangements required for execution of the work up to the topmost portion of the tank shall be provided, maintained and removed by the Contractor. The cost thereof shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate and nothing extra shall be paid on this account. (iv) The Contractor shall provide all necessary safety measures and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, safety belts, full-body harnesses, lifelines, helmets, gloves, safety goggles, safety shoes and other protective equipment as required under applicable safety regulations. The cost thereof shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate and nothing extra shall be paid on this account. (v) All exposed steel members fixed to stairs, ladders, rungs, handrails and landings of the OHT shall be cleaned and painted with two coats of synthetic enamel paint. The cost thereof shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate and nothing extra shall be paid on this account.
