| 4 | Carrying out ground improvement works below and around foundations of structures and other areas by using compacted soil-cement mix as per technical specifications and drawings. For the above purpose, selected earth free from pabbles and vegetation after recovering from the stacks of excavated soil shall be dried in drying beds before use so as to bring moisture content below/ equal to Optimum Moisture Content (OMC). The soil and cement in specified quantity shall be uniformly mixed in automated weigh batching and mixing plant(s). Suitable quantity of water shall then be added to this mix in batching and mixing plant so as to achieve desired OMC at site. This mix shall be transported to the placement locations and laid in layers not exceeding 200 mm each (compacted thickness) and compacting each layer at optimum moisture content using vibro rollers to achieve at least 95% Modified Procter Density which shall be verified after completion of compaction through field and laboratory tests as per technical specifications. Quoted rate shall include cost of transportation of soil from stock pile and drying beds, bringing moisture content of soil- cement to required level, uniform mixing of soil-cement in automated weigh batching and mixing plant(s), transporting soil-cement mix to placement locations, spreading in layers, compaction, curing, protecting and performing required tests as per specifications, including maintaing and submitting all the records. Quoted rate shall also include provision of all equipment, tools & plants, manpower, consumables, enabling works required for carrying out ground improvement, necessary arrangements for testing and offering the same for inspection to NPCIL.
Note:
1. The cost of drying excavated soil including modification, preparation and maintenance of existing and new drying beds with adequate draining facility and rain water protection shall be included in the quoted rates.
2. The quoted rate shall also include all field and laboratory testing of soil-cement mix as per technical specifications.

| 7 | Design, supplying, installation of sheet pile for earth protection around the excavated area as per accepted scheme and approved drawings including material, labour, equipment, anchoring arrangement, consumable etc. all complete complying all safety norms and removal of sheet pile after completion of respective civil works as per the direction of engineer in charge. This item to be executed after approval of execution scheme by NPCIL.

| 8Engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of comprehensive dewatering system for excavation, ground improvement and other associated works comprising of electrical operated pumps/ machine/ equipment, minimum 5% capacity spare diesel pumps, DG sets as an alternate arrangement to augment 100% capacity operation in case of power failure, GI/ UPVC pipe lines, peripheral pipes up to discharge point locations, valves etc., functionally required for dewatering including installation of multi stage or single stage vacuum well point system, submersible pumps in sumps, setting it to work, commissioning, as per the specifications & instructions of the Engineer. Indicative Scheme for dewatering shall be submitted along with technical bid. Detailed scheme shall be submitted after award of work. Any modifications required during implementation stage shall be made by the contractor at no extra cost to NPCIL. All items used for dewatering system shall be brand new and conform to relevant IS. Note: 1. The contractor should read the relevant geotechnical information supplied with the tender. He may conduct further necessary tests/ mock up at his own cost to finalise the details of the dewatering system. Minimum value of coefficient of permeability of the site is 1.2 x10-5 m/sec. The cost shall also include provision & maintenance of peripheral pipes up to discharge point locations i.e upto WTP. 2. The dewatering system shall be designed to maintain ground water level atleast 1 M below the working level as per drawing at all times during currency of contract. Provision of suitable numbers of instrumented observation wells shall be made for demonstrating the same. 3. Contractor shall demonstrate the efficacy of installed dewatering system along with all items involved to NPCIL. Contractor shall prepare & submit the drawings of the system before installation. | |||||
