Geo Technical Geophysical Investigation Work At TIFR Mumbai As Per Attached Tender Documents

FIELD WORK

Mobilization of all required equipment, plant, instruments and its subsequent demobilization etc complete on satisfactory completion of the soil investigation jobs. Including Setting & shifting of rig at bore hole / test location including 1st one.

Drilling exploratory bore holes of not more than 150 mm diameter, in all types of soil, as per specification, (soil where SPT "N" equal or less than 50). Including collection of disturbed soil samples in plastic bags, collection of Ground water & Soil samples for Chemical analysis as per specifications. 11 boreholes x 5m = 55m 2 boreholes x 5m = 10m (for crosshole seismic receiver boreholes)

Drilling NX size exploratory bore holes and seismic test boreholes (one source and 2 receiver boreholes to 30m depth including PVC casing and grouting) in weathered rock / hard rock with T.C./ with diamond drill bit with core run not more than 1.5 m & collecting rock samples using double tube core barrels, preserving rock samples in wooden core boxes, all as per the specifications including gravity grouting if necessary, in water loss zones & providing cement. (Soft rock is defined SPT "N” equal or more than 50).

Conducting Standerd penetration test(SPT-N value) and collecting/preserving SPT samples as per specification.

Excavation of trial pits of size 2.0m x 2.0m x 4.0m, removal of soil/muck, shoring, dewatering, refilling etc. as per EIC/specification.

Ecavation of earth, Casting block in M25 grade concrete, curing etc complete as per EIC and Conducting Block Vibration Test as per specifications/ IS-5249-1992.

Conducting Crosshole Seismic Tests as per specification/IS-13372-(Part 2) -1992, comprising of of 3 bore-holes(two receiver bore holes and one source bore hole) at 2.0m intervals upto 30m depth in all type of strata below ground level including providing PVC liner, grouting and backfilling after completion of the test etc. all complete as per specification, drawings and asdirected by EIC.

Conducting Electrical resistivity tests as per specification/ IS.3043. Test shall be cunducted as per IS:1892, Appendix-B2, using Wnner's four electrode Method.

Conducting Field CBR at existing ground surface including mobilization and demobilization of all equipment.

Conducting lab CBR tests on soil samples from 0.5m, 2m and 3m depth for Road Design as per IS: 2720 Part (XXXI)

Conducting Plate Load test as per specification/IS: 1888 (Plate size 600mmx600mm,Final load intensity for the test shall be 100T/m2 unless shear failure occurs before this load is reached including excavation to test level, mobilization, demoblization, complete.

Conducting Percolation test in BH-9 at 3m depth below existing ground level to determine infiltration rate as per IS: 2470 (Part-2),1985

Conducting falling head single packer permeability test in BH-3 at 6 to 7.5m depth below existing ground level as per IS: 5529 (Part-2), 2006

Collecting block UDS samples from trial pits and boreholes

LABORATORY TESTS: On soils

Natural moisture content (NMC) of soils by oven drying method. N

Grain size analysis (GSA) of various soil samples by both mechanical sieve & hydrometer analysis.

In situ dry density of soil samples.

Consolidation Test on undisturbed Soil Samples

Swelling Pressure on undisturbed Soil Samples

Lab Permeability test on undisturbed Soil Samples

Chemical analysis of soil to determine chloride sulphate

Chemical analysis of ground water to determine Chloride, Sulphate, pH & organic content

On Rock Cores

Unconfined compressive test (Saturated and unsaturated)

Specific gravity of rock samples.

Porosity of rock samples.

Density of rock samples.

Point load index of soaked rock samples.

Modulus of elasticity test on rock sample

COMPILATION OF DATA & REPORT
