REPAIR MAINTENANCE OF LIGHTNING PROTECTION EARTHING INCLUDING ASSOCIATED EM WORK AT HEMRL SUTARWADI UNDER GE RD PASHAN

Material and labour in repair for lightning protection system mounted on top of steel tubular poles/ PCC poles/ iron structure of any type and height 15metre to 18metre above ground level including T & P and necessary arrangment complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Taking down / dismantling existing perished aluminium strip of size 25mm x 3 mm from any height of roof top / on walls of conventional type lightening protection network system complete all as specified and as directed.

Re-fixing serviceable aluminium strip of size 25mm x 3 mm obtained from sl item No 2.0 above fixed to wall on batten or recess or chases or burried in ground or drawn in conduit/ pipe or fixed to poles or any other indicated situation for loop earthing etc or fixed on existing PCC block at any height on roof top, on existing insulators any type on walls including jointing the system of conventional type lightening protection network and making good the disturbed surface of walls / roof top match with existing surface complete all as specified and as directed.

Material and labour for aluminium strip of size 25mm x 3mm fixed to wall on batten or recess or chases or burried in ground or drawn in conduit/ pipe or fixed to poles or any other indicated situation for loop earthing etc. or fixed on PCC block with epoxy based insulator of 35mm size at distance / interval not more than 1.0 m for down conductor air terminal network including drilling two Nos holes at each joint, one set of lead washers between strips, two sets GI nut and bolt, gutties, screws etc complete all as specified and directed. Note : (i) Epoxy base insulator and PCC block only will be measured and paid separately under relevant items (ii) Unit rate quoted is deemed to be inclusive cost of one lead joint and 2 Nos GI nuts, bolts washers, screws and necessary T&P and machining work reuired at site.

Dismenltling and taking down from roof / poles air termiantion single pointed rod 12 mm dia 300 mm long and keeping in safe custody including making good the disturbed surfaces after resuse at specfied location after replacement of PCC block, insulator, strip and connect to aluminium strip including 2 No drilling holes, nuts, bolts washers complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note : Cost necessiated for temperory support structure required for working and safety deemed to be included in unit quoated rate.

Supply and fix air termination single pointed aluminium rod of 12 mm dia 300 mm long fixed to aluminium strip 25mm x 3 mm including drilling holes, nuts, bolts washers for resting/ supporting of air terminals etc., complete all as specified and directed.

Fixing only air termiantion single pointed rod 12mm dia 300 mm /1 metre long on roof top existing net work system or any other new net work system after replacement of PCC block, insulator, strip and connect to aluminium strip including 2 No drilling holes, nuts, bolts washers complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note : Cost necessiated for temperory support structure required for working and safety deemed to be included in unit quoated rate.

Material and labour for dismentling of existing inspection box of any material shape and size including supply and fixing of new inspection box / cover box of size 250mm x 150mm x 100mm made out of 2 mm thick MS sheet with hinged front opening cover including provision of fixing 2 Nos epoxy insulators and insulating PVC sheathed for incoming and outgoing aluminium / GI strips for proper insulation etc compelte all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Material and labour in repairs for PCC Earth pit in PCC 1 : 2 : 4 type B1 ( using 20 mm graded crushed stone aggregate ) including precast PCC 1 : 2 : 4 type B0 (using 12.5 mm graded crushed stone aggregate ) as in pit cover, GI funnel with wire mesh complete all as specified and directed.

Material and labour in repair for earthing with and including galvanised steel earth plate electrode 600mm x 600mm x 6 mm thick buried directly in ground earth pit not less than 2.25 metre deep below ground level with top edge of the plate not less than 1.5 metre below normal ground level connected to galvanised strip 32mm x 6 mm by means of nuts, bolts, check nuts, washers of galvanised iron or steel all as shown in electrical plate No. 03 of SSR Part I connected to earthing test point including excavation/ earth work in any type of strata, removal of surplus excavated material, GI pipe for watering and funnel, PCC 1:3:6 type C1 (using 20mm graded crushed stone aggregate) chamber including necessary formwork / mould for fair and even surfaces, precast RCC 1:2:4 type B0 ( using 12.5 mm graded crushed stone aggregate) chamber cover slab, GI funnel, with GI watering pipe 20 mm bore medium grade, wire mesh, protection pipe 40 mm bore GI pipe light grade for earth lead upto 7.50 metre long including testing & charcoal and salt complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note : Test report shall be prepared and submitted by the contractor in triplicate duly obtaining signatures of MES JE / AGE & PMG / user. Test results are to be written in letters of 20mm height in white colour on black paint back ground.

Supply only epoxy base insulator of suitable size, 35mm height fixed on PCC blocks/ wall or MS angle/ Pipe or on traverse etc. complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Taking down / dismantling existing perished GI strip of size 32mm x 6 mm from on walls / buried in to ground of conventional type lightening protection network system complete all as specified and as directed.

Fixing only serviceable GI strip of size 32mm x 6 mm as obtained from as per sl item No 12.0 above, on existing walls / buried under ground, on existing insulators any type including jointing the system of conventional type lightening the system of conventional type lightening protection network and making good the disturbed surface of walls complete all as specified and as directed.

Material and labour for galvanised iron strip of size 32mm x 6 mm burried in ground or fixed on wall with suitable 35 mm size epoxy base insulator fixed on wall / floors fixed at distance / interval not more than 1.0 metre and connected to test point including bending, jointing at test points with 2 Nos GI nuts, bolts, with lead washers, jointing strips at all joints complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Material and labour in repair for special factory made earthing electrode comprising of hot dipped galvaized MS flat inserted in to GI pipe medium grade of 88 mm bore (outer), 3metre length, filled with non magnetic anti corrosive material specially developed for ground resistance enhancement power around the electrode to retain moisture conforming to IS 3043 including necessary boring in ground of 150 mm dia in any type of strata connecting to test point all as specified and directed (the earth resistance shall be less than 3 ohms complete all as specified and directed. Contractor shall improve the earthing resistance within the permissible limit without any extra cost complete all as specified and directed. "MAKE :- Fast Electrode / ASHLOK/ U-PROTEC EARTHING PVT. LTD. / TRUE POWER Note:-GI earthing pipe should have successfully tested for salt spray test (corrosion test) Certificate for minimum 500 hours. The Earthing Electrode should have a GTP & Drawing approval from MSEDCL infra Project. The Earthing Electrode should be tested in MSME. Any one such Earthing Electrode should have successfully type test certification by CPRI (Central Power Research Institute, Govt of India) for the Short Time current at 43 kA rms for 1 Sec; with initial peak of 90.12 kA. The rated voltage for testing in CPRI should be 400 V at rated current of 10kA. The Earth Enhancing Compound should have Test certification from NABL accredited Lab. It should be tested as per IS 1350/ AHPA guideline’s. The pH value of Compound should be 7.59, Moisture % by mass should be 8.91& Solubility in 1:1 HCL should be 32.29 %. The Compound should be tested ELV Test as per protocol IEC 62321/111/54/CDV/ICP-OES for contain of Lead (23.0 ppm), Cadmium (15.0ppm), Mercury (Below Detection Level) & Hexa-chromium(Below Detection Level)

Material and labour for PCC block of size 150mm x 150mm x 150mm in PCC (1:3:6) type C-1 (using 20mm graded crushed stone aggregate) including necessary form / mould for fair and even surfaces, for air termination rod / GI strip etc.,complete all as specified and directed.

Material and labour for Testing of conventional type lightning protection system as specified here under in Techanical Area/ Lab / Magzine bldgs inside HEMRL Complex complete all as specified and directed :- (a) Before testing a visual check to be carried out jointly by the contractor, Engr-in-Charge and rep of users for the mechanical condition of all conductors, bonds, joints. (b) Testing continuity and resistance of conductors, ohmic resistance of lightning conductor system complete with air termination but without the earth electrode connection and recording results. (c) Testing of each earth electrode point without continuity conductors, air termination and ring conductor. (d) Testing the resistance to earth of the whole installations with all earth electrodes continuity, conductors, air termination and bonding of other services and results are to be recorded. (e) All above testing are to be done in accordance with STEC Pamphlate No. 7 and IS 2309, 1999 (2nd revision) and IS 3043, 1987. The results are to be recorded in a prescribed format duly signed by contractor, Engr-in-Charge and rep of users and to be submitted by contractor in triplicate. Notes : (i) The testing mentioned above against 1 (b) to (e) will be conducted only after rectifying the defects observed during visual check. (ii) Material and labour for required for rectification of defects observed will be measured and paid separately under relevant items of sch 'A'. (iii) Unit rate quoted is deemed to be inclusive of writing board in white colour letters n.exc. 2 cm height on the black colour back ground on wall such as - Tested on, Due date of testing, E.g. EP No. 1-ER 10 ohms. EP No. should be mentioned on individual earth pits and ER value of installation etc. all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge. (iv) Contractor has to arrange necessary testing instruments of suitable range duly latest calibrated (certificates to be produced). The rate quoted is deemed to be include the above provision. (v) If ohmic resistance value exceeds 1 ohm the system to be rectified by cleaning with CRC solution, tightening, replacement of bolts / nuts, rivets, etc; to get value below 1 ohm. Note : LP system for complete bldg/magzine/shed/lab will be mesured as one unit.

Supply only earth continuity conductor of copper strip of size 25 mm x 5 mm complete all as specified and directed.

Material and labour in repair for special factory made earthing electrode comprising of pure copper single pipe of 76 mm dia , 3metre length, filled with highly conductive, noncorrosive material specially developed for ground resistance enhancement powder 2 Bag of 25 kilogram around the electrode to retain moisture conforming to IS 3043 including necessary boring in ground of 150mm dia in any type of strata connecting to test point complete all as specified and directed. Note:-Contractor shall improve the earthing resistance within the permissible limit without any extra cost. The earth resistance shall be less than 3 ohms. The Earth Enhancing Compound should have Test certification from NABL accredited Lab. It should be tested as per IS 1350/ AHPA guideline’s. The pH value of Compound should be 7.59, Moisture % by mass should be 8.91& Solubility in 1:1 HCL should be 32.29 %. Material and labour in repair for GI tubing light grade of size 40 mm bore for connecting to air termination rod / protection to GI strip complete including Brackets for fixing complete all as specified and directed.

Material and labour in repair for earth pit indicator board made out of MS sheet 6mm thick of size 25cm x 15cm fixed on and including mild steel flat of size 40mm x 6mm x 1.2metre(long) by means of nut, bolt/ welding including duly painted with two coats of synthetic enamel paint over and including a coat of red oxide primer of approved colour including preparation and including writing the letters of size not exceeding 60mm complete all as specified and directed by Engineer - in - charge. The indicator should indicate the following :- (i) Earth Pit No. (ii) Earth result in Ohms (iii) Date of testing Note :- (i) Cost of excavation of earth in any type of soil/ rock for erection of earth pit indicator board removal (upto the 50 metre from starting point) and returning filling in of soil/ rock is deemed to be included in the quoted rates.

Material and labour for earth testing, identifying the earthings in building / LT Panel and recording the results on indicator board and producing three copies of test sheet duly signed by Contractor/ JE/ AGE E/M complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-charge. Note :- (i) Cost of labour and tools required for testing is deemed to be included in quoted rates.

Supply and fix in repair Galvenised iron tubing medium grade of following size ISI marked fixed on wall, roof, floor complete with and including all accessories such as Tees union , bend ,elbow nipple reducer etc , all as required at site for branch connection including cutting threading for watering to earthing complete all as specified and directed by Enginner-in-Charge.
