Servicing of diesel engine generating set of capacity 500 KVA/600KVA of any make, including the following works are as under: - (a) Servicing of Engine (i) Re-greasing all grease points. (ii) Tighten the nuts, bolts of pipe lines of fuel oil, lubricating oil, water and check for leakages and examine the all main connections. (iii) Check water/coolant level in radiator. (iv) Check crank case oil level. (v) Clean/replaced lubrication oil filters. (vi) Clean/replaced air filters. (vii) Check that lubricating oil contains no water. Examine lubricating oil and renew if needed (viii) Check tappet clearance and all nuts for tightness. (ix) Wash felt pads of fuel filter. (x) Drain air receiver. (xi) Grease valve stems. (xii) Check all wiring, battery water level, gravity of battery, inspect all bushes and bush holder, cleaning of surface of commutators.

(b) Servicing of alternators (i) Check temp rise of bearings. (ii) Check bushes on exciter commutator and the alternator slip rings run without chattering or sparking. (iii) Check if bushes freely slide in holder and whether bush springs are in order. (iv) Check if oil rings are freely rotating in the bearings. (v) Check oil level in bearings. (vi) Wipe clean the alternator and exciter. (vii) Check all wiring and rectify any defect with new wiring. (viii) Surface and clean the commutator. (ix) Take insulation and earth test on alternator and exciter and if defective investigate cause and remedy. (x) Check joints, clamping and bolting in all the wiring including control panels and rectify any defects. (xi) Check greases in all roller and ball bearings and make up if inadequate. (xii) Check the degree of wear of commutator bushes and renew if necessary. (xiii) Tighten all nuts in the rotors of alternator and exciter. (xiv) Check air gaps between starters and rotors and clean off any projections on the rotor. (C) M&L for repairing of door of sound proof canopy of DG Sets by replacing of door hinges and any type of welding work for smooth functioning of all doors of DG Sets . Note for item No. 1 to 4 : Items to be replaced will be measured and paid separately, as supply only and labour for fixing deemed to be include as part of servicing.

Material and labour in replacment of 180 AH 12 Volts batteries for DG sets 62.5 to 600 KVA DG sets, Complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Repair and overhauling of Diesel Engine driven generating set 6 cylinder of cap 82.5 KVA installed at Sansar Chand Pump house complete with the following works and replacement of spare parts. (a) Disconnecting the electric connection of the alternator, decoupling from engine and disconnecting unsv/serviceable parts for repair/ replacement such as inlet/outlet manifold, turbocharger, FIP, air cleaner, fuel injectors, cylinder head, tappet cover, cylinder linner, piston assy, connecting rod assy, exhaust valve seat, insert valve seat, fuel pump, L.O. pump, oil pump, piston assy, crank shaft etc. at site and cleaning the reusable parts with Keroscene oil for reuse , Complete all as specified and as per directed by Engr-in-Charge. (b) Transportation of unserviceable parts such as cylinder block, cylinder head, oil pump , FIP, L.O. pump, oil pump, injector nozzles, crank shaft etc. obtain from the above DG sets at site i.e. MT Pump house Udhampur to Kirloskar company or Kirloskar authorised Work shop at Jammu for repair, rectification of defects and retransportation of repaired parts/assembled engine from workshop to installation complete.

(c) Computarised checking of cylinder block for its defects/ leakage in oil and rectification of the same by X ray welding or otherwise as per manufacturer's specification. (d) Grinding, polishing & facing of cylinder heads in and including replacement of seats and minor repair to cylinder head all as directed by Engr-in-Charge. (e) Re-assembling the Engine and alternator complete and connecting the alternator and coupling with engine complete after repair/ replacement of serviceable/unsv spare parts incl spray painting of DG Set of existing colors with testing and commissioning of DG set on full load upto desired satisfaction of Engr-in-Charge complete. Note:- (i) The major spare parts required for overhauling of engine shall be measured and paid separately under relevant items. (ii) Minor spare parts such as plain machined washer, set screw, joint, set bolt, O rings, washer, spring dowel, dowel pin, bolts, pins, nuts, banjo bolts, copper washer etc for proper functioning of DG sets deemed to be included in the item rate.

M&L for old u/s earthing complete including taking out old earthing with galvanised earth plate electrode 600mm x 600mmx 6.00mm thick surrounded by charcoal and salt, buried directly in ground vertically in a pit of depth not less than 2.25m below ground level with top edge of the earth plate not less than 1.5m below normal ground level, connected to 25x4 mm GI strip earth lead by means of bolts, nuts, checks nut and washers made out of galvanized iron or steel, earth wire protected by galvanized steel pipe 40mm bore medium grade and connected to main switch or main control board all as shown in electrical plate No.3 of SSR Part-I & including necessary excavation and earth work. Painting to RCC /steel tubular poles 9/12 metre long at surface of any description over 10 CM grith or width ,not otherwise described,prepare old or new untreated surface,old painted surfaces including priming cement based paints plaster with synthetic enambled paint coat and plastic emulsion coat over surface with two coats of aluminium paint including brackets, clamps, nuts bolts, washer etc. including making yellow and black strips alternatively (30 cm width each) on pole upto 1.5 metre from the ground level and marking of pole Nos with black paint having back ground yellow as per existing complete all as specified and directed.

Replacement of old unserviceable rusted GI tubing brackets, 40mm bore, light grade with new GI tubing bracket, 40mm bore, light grade, 1.20 metre length ,made to shape including MS clamp with nuts, bolts and washers etc complete all as specified & directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Nature switch operation should be based on Natural Light Lux*level. Reqd illuminance level also have part night operation facility for min 4 hrs to max 12 hrs.
