Plantation of fruits and fodder plants(BUC), grass slips, Patch sowing, DRSM work and Removal/eradication of lantana/obnoxious weed in different locations in Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary

Pit plantation of fruits & fodder plants (BUC) in Co. T5:- a) Digging of pits of size 0.45 cm x 0.45 cm x 0.45 cm. b) Planting of Polly raised plants in dug out pits after removing the polythene bag. c) Refilling of good earth in dug out pits. d) Ramming of loose soil around the planted plants gently and properly. e) Raising of pits from the lower side for water conservation. f) Carriage of plants from SFRI nurseries to planting site. g) Loading and unloading of poly bagged plants from the nursery and unloading at dumping/planting site. h) Head load carriage of plants from dumping site to site of planting.

Plantation of grass slips:- a) Clearance of site by removing of weeds. b) Earth work in excavation for making of furrows on across the slopes. c) Extraction of grass slips from the Agrostology nursery Sidhra. d) Separating of grass slips in to clumps. e) Mechanical carriage of grass slips from source to dumping site. f) Planting of grass slips in dug out furrows or on sloppy areas. g) Ramming of loose soil around the planted slips. (5000 nos. of slips in each Co. T1 & T5 of Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary)

Patch sowing:- a) Site clearance by cutting and removing of weeds/rank vegetation from the site of work. b) Digging of patches of size 45cmx45cmx15cm c) Breaking of clods and sorting out of grasses and other unwanted material from the dugout earth to make it clean and fine soil. d) Sowing/dibbling of seeds/seed ball in the above proposed patches (2 No. in each patch) including procuring of seeds from authenticated source. e) Providing bushed over the patches to save from wild animals. (5000 nos. of slips in each Co. T1 & T5 of Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary)

DRSM work:- a) Earth work excavation for laying foundation of DRSM Check Dam over Gully/Nallah beds 30cm deep. b) Collection and carriage of stones from nearby Nallahs up to site of work manually with average head load lead 50m. c) Fashioning/dressing of stones to be used along the exposed faces of DRSM Check Dam. d) Construction of Check Dam using above prepared stones in dry masonry for plugging of gully/checking of erosion. e) Numbering of check dams structures using paint. (50 cum each in Co. T1 & T5 of Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary)

Removal/eradication of lantana/obnoxious weed:- a) Delineating the portion of land invaded with lantana weed. (2 x 100m x 100m plots for each Co. T1 and T5). b) Cutting the main root stock of lantana weed below the soil surface and grubbing the complete clumps from ground properly. c) Lifting and placing the uprooted clumps upside down for drying. d) Bundling of all the above dried refuse/stock and safe disposal of same manually up to an average head load 50m. (2.00 Ha each in Co. T1 & T5 of Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary)
