Note (1) : (i) Extra excavation of earth work more than 3.75 mtr shall be meassured and paid separately. (ii) The grid of earthing through earth strip to achieved earth resistance upto to 05 ohm shall be deemed into the quoted rate and no extra payment shall be made to contractor. (iii) The test point shall be made after the grid of earthing and algebric sum of strip with GI protation pipe shall be measured after 7.5 mtr earth pit.The strip beyond the total sum shall be paid seperately (a) Soil shall be provided by the contractor from outside the MOD land for refilling the remaining portion of earth pit for increasing soil conductivity The Low rasistivity .The rate of soil shall deemed to be included in the quoted rate and no extra payment shall be made on this account, bidders are requested to quote their rate accordingly. (c) Earthing will be carried out in presence of users and MES rep with entire satisfaction. (d) The ground enhansing material (GEM) / chemicals shall be added with soil and the GEM/chemicals shall be measured and paid seperately. Note (2) : Light grade GI Protection pipe of size 40mm shall be deemed to be including in the quoted rates.

M&L earthing complete as per electrical plate No 5 of MES SSR Part I with galvanised steel plate earth electrode 60 cm x 60 cm x 6.0 mm, burried directly vertically in ground in a pit of depth not less than 2.5 metres below ground level with the top edge of earth plate at a depth not less than 1.5 m below normal ground level connected to and including galvanised iron or steel earth strip 32 x 6 mm by means of bolts, nuts, check nuts and washers of galvanised iron or steel. Earthing strip protected by galvanised iron or steel pipe 50 mm bore medium grade and connected to continuous earth wire on pole/ test point. Watering pipe shall be 20mm bore GI medium grade. The earthing shall be inclusive of excavation and earth work in any type of soil, charcoal, salt, funnel , PCC pit and RCC cover complete all as specified & directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Note 1- following items deemed to be included in quoted rate (a) Earth electrode. (b) Main earthing lead from earth electrode to test point and further to equipment to be earthed upto 7.5 metre. (d) Adequate quantity of charcoal, dust, common salt and ground enhacement material as required to bring the earthing resistance as per direction. (e) All labour involved including testing of earth net work. (f) Excavation and earth work or drilling hole for electrode. (g) P.C.C. pit and C.I. cover. (h) Funnel with watering pipe, wire mesh and copper lugs etc. as specified. (j) G.I. protection pipe of size ordered specified for protection of earthing lead from mechanical injury or tempering. Note 2 - On testing after completion if the desired earth resistance is not obtained the earthing will be redone at no extra cost.
