Sch 'A' ( RUBBER REMOVAL AND PME TREATMENT ) Note : This schedule is not pre priced by MES and the pre priced rate indicated as "Rs. 0.00" under Col.6 signifies this fact only

Complete Removal of Rubber deposit from runway surface using water blasting cum vacuuming machine with suitable operating water pressure so that the total rubber deposit are removed from runway both ( rigid and flexible) without use of any chemical and without any damage to the existing surface depositing inside MOD land complete all as specified and directed by GE. Notes:- (a) Total rubber deposit should be removed to a distance exc 1.5 Km but n.exc 3 Km and depositing where directed at contractor's own cost and arrangement .The debris/water vaccuumed simultanously leaving no FOD so that the Runway is available for operating immediately. (b) Rubber deposit debris should be in solid form when finally disposed. (c) In any emergency condition the machine should EXIT from the runway as per station order considering operational situations existing in area without leaving any FOD. (d) Friction Test should be carrried out before Rubber deposit removal operation as directed by GE under the arrangment of contractor. i.e machine and testing arrangment is contractors’s responsibility and no extra payment shall be admissible on this account. Contd--1.02

(e) The surface of both concrete/ bitumen ( rigid/ flexible ) shall not get any kind of damages during the process of rubber removal, not to any adjoining areas, joint filling etc. Damages made if any ,shall be made good by the contractor without any extra cost to the Govt. (f) Work will be carried out in phased manner as per site availability .

Cleaning the surface with vacuume suction machine and make the surface free from dust and other particles and apply cold polymeric bitumen emulsion (PME) @ 1.00 Ltr/ sqm in two coats after dilution with 50 % water . viz in the ratio of 1:1 ( water: PME) by mechanical spraying machine complete all as specified and directed by GE. Note : The tenderer shall take into consideration for the following points while quoting his rate for the items. (a) PME treatment shall only be done on the surface after removal of rubber, existing paint & dust / other particles. (b) No price adjustment shall be applicable if excess qty of cold polymeric bitumen emulsion is used under this item. (c ) The deployment of labour and T & P arrangement on the runway shall be intimated to the Engineer-in-Charge/GE well before the time set out for execution on every day in the morning. Contractor to provide necessary arrangment for lighting etc and quote the rate accordingly for considering late working hours at night. (d) Trial patch ( area 3m x 6 m ) of PME treatment should be done by the contractor at two locations as under: ''Trial Patch on link/PTT is to be carried out in the presence of rep. of CWE & GE and will be approved by GE before final execution of the work at site and as directed by GE .Nothing extra shall be paid on this account. contd--1.04

(i) Location 1: Over area ( 3m x 6m) where no rubber removal treatment has been carried out. (ii) Location 2 : Over area ( 3m x 6m) where rubber removal treatment has been carried out. (e) Contractor will submit Performance guarantee certificate for two years’ after completion of the works. (f) Special care shall be taken to fill the gaps/ cracks with 0.6mm to 2.36 mm size sand mixed with PME as per manufacturers instructions and no-extra payment shall be admissible on this account. (g) The cleaning of runway surfaces with mechanised means shall be carried out by deploying truck mounted cleaning machines with scrubbers and vacuum dust collectors of capacity as directed by GE. (h) Friction Test should be carried out before & after 8 hrs of application of final coat of PME treatment as directed by GE under the arrangment of contractor i.e machine and testing arrangment is contractor’s responsibility. (j) After carying out PME treatment on the runway, the friction reading of the rubber removed segment should be minimum of 0.30 when measured with surface friction tester and 0.35 when measured with skiddometer . (k) The quoted rates by Contractor shall include all details mentioned in this Note and Nothing extra shall be paid on this account.

Removing old paint by paint removers or burning off by blow lamps and cleaning with scrapers any number of coats any width or girth complete all as specified and as directed.

Prepration of PME treated surface free from dust or other loose particle etc by brushing or other suitable means and applying two coats of road marking water based white/yellow/ any other colours paint in marked pattern with width or girth over 10 cm ( line marking, dashes, arrows, letters etc to runway/ PTT / Dispersal/ Loops and other etc complete all as directed. Note:- One coat of painting will be provided immidiatly after PME treatment and final coat after setting of PME treatment as per direction of GE.
