Design, Fabrication and Installation of new summer and winter gates of Old bays at Head works Akhnoor of Main Ranbir Canal

Providing, Fabrication, installation & erection of 08no.s winter and summer regulatory gates of 04 no’s old bays of MRC Head works Akhnoor. Job includes complete dismantling of old existing double winch arrangement including supports from its installed position and then extraction of old winter and summer regulatory gates from each bay by means of removal of silt around the gates inside the bay by engaging skilled/semi-skilled labour manually and with the help of hydraulic crane. Stacking of the old extracted worn out gates at a safer place near to the site by using the hydra crane and manual labour. Replacement of old worn out damaged summer and winter regulatory gates by way of fabrication of new one as per old gate samples i.e. 7ft 8inch x 5ft. Fabrication of new gate leaf frame for summer regulatory gate out of 2no.s ISMC 175 of size 7ft 8inch x 5ft each and 3no.s ISMB 175 of size 7ft 8inch x 5ft each as horizontal members for required strengthening. Also fabrication of new gate leaf frame for winter regulatory gate out of 2no.s ISMC 175 of size 7ft 8inch x 5ft each and 4no.s ISMB 175 of size 7ft 8inch x 5ft each as horizontal members for required strengthening. Welding of new M.S skin plate of 12mm thickness on the horizontal supports of gate leaf frame to form a complete gate structure at work shop. Extraction of old damaged/bent stem rods complete assembly (42ft of summer gate and 50ft of winter gate) from their installed position and repairs/replacement to them by way of remetalling, threading and finishing etc. as per desired pitch and nominal dia. in concurrence with the gear of the worm wheel in place of old damaged one as per the sample. Repair/replacement of worm wheel gear assembly wherever required for 4no.s bays. Shifting of the fabricated gates and other allied accessories from workshop to the nearest unloading site at MRC Akhnoor by using skilled/unskilled labour along with hydraulic crane. Further shifting of the unloaded material from roadside to the site of installation by engaging skilled/unskilled labour along with hydraulic crane. Job includes providing & fixing of new round rubber seals of 1.5 inch dia. covering the bottom of the each winter/summer regulatory gates as per sample and 3no.s sliding pads of brass strips on back side of each gate. Greasing of all the moving parts, painting of the gates by application of 02 coats of red oxide primer and then application of two coats of anti corrosive enamel paint on gate leaf and ISMC channels. Checking of all the sill beams of the old bays at the bottom for damages if any and repair/replacement/embedding of the same as per sample to overcome leakages. Also repair/replacement to the ISMC guide channels as per sample wherever required at site. Lowering/installation of the newly fabricated summer and winter regulatory gates in bays by using skilled/semiskilled labour along with hydraulic crane and other special tools & tackles as per the site conditions. Assembling of stem rod with gates by means of providing and fitting of new set of nuts and bolts for hoisting the gates with the stem rod end mechanism. Checking of all the installed/fitted summer and winter regulatory gates for smooth operation at site. Job also includes repair to the gates of the additional new bay by way of repair/replacement to the gear mechanism at head site. Repair/replacement to the steel wire ropes of the drum hoist of stop log/regulatory gates and checking for the smooth operation of the same. Checking the balancing of the counter weights of the new additional bay gate for smooth operation and unbalancing if any to be rectified at site. Also checking of vertical movement of the stoplog gate of new additional bay and unbalancing if any to be rectified at site. During execution of the fabrication/installation works of MRC head works in the bays,safety belts/full body harness, along with fibre ropes anchored with suitable safety mechanism on ground to be used to hold the worker/arrest free fall of worker in case of any unfortunate incident during installation of the gate in the bay. The worker should wear a personal floating device which may consist of a vest, jacket or full length suit. The floating device should also include one or two under-straps to be worn between the legs of the workers and also a headrest flap, to prevent slipping out of the vest. Job includes cost of material, tools and tackles charges, hire charges of hydraulic crane and welding equipment, transportation charges of material from workshop to the site of installation including head load, cost of consumables, cost of painting/ greasing of all requisite components, skilled/semi-skilled and unskilled labour charges and outstation charges. Note:- The tenderers are requested to visit the site and quote the rate as per actual site conditions. Any modifications/alterations of the job, absolutely necessary if required at the time of execution may be done as per actual site conditions in consultation with site incharge. Rebate @3% to be quoted by the firm on account of old material.
