Dry Dock repair of CSD Shipra, AB Kalsubai and CPB - I at NW-2 for the year 2026-27

Beaching, blocking, unblocking, and mooring of the vessel for underwater repair shall be carried out as required. Blocking shall be arranged at adequate height and in a safe manner to facilitate proper underwater inspection, scraping, chipping, wire brushing, cleaning, water jetting, repair works, and painting of underwater portions, as required as per direction of EIC/Surveyor.

Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement (UTM) of the hull/bottom shell, deck plate, load waterline (LWL), ship-side plates, and other relevant structural members shall be carried out to assess plate thickness and structural condition. Submission of test report after completion of the gauging. The UTM shall be conducted through an IRS-approved Thickness Measurement (TM) firm, as required as per direction of EIC/Surveyor.

(i) Engine room bottom deck plating (approximately 10 sq. ft.) in way of the dredge pump was found damaged. (ii) Deck plating (approximately 30 sq. ft.) in way of the diesel generator and auxiliary engine silencer area was found damaged. (iii) Cropping and renewal of damaged/wasted underwater plates, deck plates, air vents, brackets, angles, stiffeners, railings, and internal tank plating, etc., shall be carried out as required based on ultrasonic thickness measurement and test reports. (iv) Original class certificates for all materials used in repair shall be submitted. Alternatively, check testing of materials shall be carried out to the satisfaction of the attending IRS Surveyor. (v) All repair works shall be carried out using IRS-approved welding procedures, qualified welders, and approved welding consumables. (vi) Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT) / Radiographic Testing (RT), of repair works shall be carried out through an IRS-approved firm, as required as per direction of EIC/Surveyor.

The underwater hull plates and side plates shall be thoroughly scraped, chipped, wire-brushed, and water-jet cleaned from keel level up to the Load Water Line (LWL) to remove all fouling, rust, and old paint, making the surfaces suitable for inspection and painting. Painting of the hull plates and side plates shall be carried out from keel level up to the water level with a total of three coats, comprising one coat of primer followed by two coats of marine-grade paint,, as required as per direction of IWT Surveyor/ EIC.

Chipping, wire brushing, and thorough cleaning of all tanks (HSD and Water) and associated spaces, including all internal structural members such as angles, frames, and other fittings, shall be carried out to remove rust, scale, and loose materials. After proper surface preparation, painting shall be carried out with one coat of primer followed by two coats of anti-corrosive marine paint of existing colour, as required as per direction of EIC /Surveyor

Thoroughly de-sludge, degrease, and mechanically clean all bilge surfaces to, ensuring a completely dry, contaminant-free substrate. Following preparation, shall supply and apply one (1) full coat of marine-grade anti-corrosive epoxy primer, followed by two (2) full coats of oil- and chemical-resistant marine gloss finish paint; as required as per direction of EIC/Surveyor.
