REPAIRS TO RUNWAY AND AIRFIELD PAVEMENT AND MISC RUNWAY REPAIRS AT AFS UNDER GE (AF) JORHAT.

M&L for applying PME (Polymer modified emulsion ) for flexible runway pavement from authorised manufacturer for medium consumption @ 0.91 to 1.5 litres per sqm in two coats (1st coat applied with 60% to 70% and 2nd coat with 40% to 30% of material. After each coat, surface to be kept clear for 4 to 6 hours). The work shall be carried out using mechanical spraying machine by skilled, qualified and authorised applicator for uniform application to maintain quality performance of finished surface. PME must have penetraion values of 10-20 mm and initial setting time of four to five hours but not more than eight hours post application complete all as specified and directed.

NOTES Application The work shall be carried out using mechanical spraying machine by skilled, qualified and authorised applicator. Certifcate for the same to be submitted by the contractor and prior approval obtained. Storage & Handling :- PME storage and handling temp shall be between to 10 to 50 degree and should be protected from freezing. Water to be used should be potable free from salts and chemicals. Cleaning surfaces:- Surface to be treated shall be dry, clean, dust & dirt free and durable. Surface of the runway shall be cleaned with wire/ coir brushes where the application is to be applied. The dust, mud or loose aggregate to be removed off the premises.

Preparation of PME:- Arrangment of mobile storage tank for running over runway with mechanical mixing arrangment with water and equal quantity of PME (1:1) for spraying and stirring well prior to application with compressor machine for uniform spray is to be made by contractor complete all as directed. Warranty:- Three years warranty of material performance and application performance to be obtained from the authorized manufacturer of PME by the contractor.

Supply and fixing of retro-reflective PVC sheet (3M/6M) of required size n exc 3.5 sqm with choice symbolic signs as approved /directed for runway sign boards fixed over existing GI sheeting complete all as specified and directed .

M&L preparing and cleaning existing asphaltic/concrete surface with wire brushes etc and applying one coat of road marking paint (Aqua Base) white/golden yellow/orange / Black for painting over main Runway area, Taxi lines, Holding point, ORP, Turn pad, Dispersal, Signal square ,Wind direction indicator base, Letters,Oblitration etc width or girth exc 100 mm complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for Raking of joints / removing of old sealing compound, dirt from 20 mm thick expansion joint and depth 25mm and cleaning the joints properly for full depth of PQC and filling with 20 mm thick premoulded compressible filler polythylene closed cell type board as specified and applying closed cell, medium density, cross linked polythylene foam back up rod of 25 mm dia over filler board, priming top 12 mm with approved primer and filling with polyurethane based sealeant, applying masking tape on edges of joint to prevent accidental spillage of sealant and removing the masking tape after filling of sealant all as per the directions of the manufacturer, complete all as specified and as directed. (Note: Repair will be carried by through authorised Applicator)

M&L for Raking of joints/removing of old sealing compound, dirt from Dummy joints 25mm deep x 10mm wide cleaning the joints properly by mechanical means for full depth, filled with closed cell, medium density, cross linked polyethylene foam back up rod of 12 mm dia, over filler board priming top 10 mm with specified primer and filling with polyurethane based sealant, applying masking tape on edges of joint to prevent accidental spillage of sealant and removing the masking tape after filling of sealant and as specified and as per the directions of the manufacturer, complete all as specified and as directed. (Note: Repair will be carried by through authorised Applicator)
