PROVISION OF NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING NDT FOR CERTAIN BUILDINGS AT NIH GOA UNDER GE GOMANTAK VASCO

Visual inspection and photographs, Performing the visual survey of the building and recording, mapping on drawings and extend of spalled concrete, cracked concrete,honeycoming, reinforcement corrosion, delaminated concrete etc, taking photographs to collect evidence of damage to structure.

UPV Test : Ultra sonic pulse velocity test in accordance with IS 13311 Part-1 1992 by portable ultrasonic non destructive digital test equipment. Plaster chipping is mandatory. If chipping is not permitted by client the same shall be noted.

Rebound Hammer Test: Rebound hammer test in accordance with IS-13311 Part-I 1992 by portable ultrasonic non destructive digital test equipment Plaster chippling is mandatory, If chipping is not permitted by client the same shall be noted.

Core Test: Core cutting & compressive test in accordance with IS 516 on RCC members 70 mm core cutting reinforcement core filling by specalised eqow material micro concrete with bond coat .

Cover depth for RCC structure in accordance with IS 1881-204-1988. This test measure the distance between the surface and the rebar, Used to determine spacing between rebars and the concrete cover.

Chemical Test in accordance with IS 456-2000 using ready made kits & reagents.Sample collected will be from half cell carbonation power.

Half cell potential in accordance with ASTMC876 Half cell potential to assess the probability of corrosion of reinforcement.

Carbonation Test in accordance with BS 1881-201-1986 Clause 2.22 carbonation test to measure extent of carbonation from the concrete surface.

Consulting Charges :

To check and confirm the present status of structure on basis of NDT and Visual Inspection.

To provide recommendation for structure repairs and technical specification. Preparing bill of quantities for the repair etc all as specified and as directed.

Notes for SI Item Nos 1 to 8 (a) All these tests should be well distributed amongst all the members (beam/column and slab) in plan as well as at floor levels (b) The scope of work must include structural analysis to ascertain present day seismic safety status of the structures. (c) Repair and rehabilitation measures must be suggested by consultant both from strength and durability point of view by taking cognizance of NDT and structural analysis. (d) Based on the interpretation of the results, the corrective actions required alongwith the detailed steps of the methodology of the repair work to be done including technical and material specification shall be suggested in written advice in triplicate with soft copies. (e) The report shall be submitted to CWE (N) Vasco for approval through GE (NW) Vasco. (f) The core cutting area shall be restored using high strength epoxy concrete without any extra cost.

(g) Following shall deemed to be included in the quoted rates for the items:- (i) Mobilization and demobilization of tools / equipment and personnel required to execute the work as per specification and normal Engineering practice. (ii) Lodging and boarding for personnel at contractors own cost. (iii) Quoted rate include for all prevailing taxes. (iv) All the material, labour and equipment required for carry out the tests. (v) Vetting of structural audit report from Government Engineering College/NABL accredited laboratory.
