Special repairs to wearing course of Air Field of Army Avn Base under AGE (I) CIF (K)

Preparing old bituminous black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface with runway power sweepers or mechanical compressor to remove all loose dirt etc, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L applying evenly a priming/ tack coat with bituminous primer @5Kg per 10Sqm using paving bitumen of grade VG-10 complete all as specified and directed.

M&L laying hot mix dense asphaltic concrete (DAC) grade-II wearing course 40mm thick (consolidated thickness) with 5.6% binder content of paving bitumen of Grade VG-30 by weight of total mix and 2% lime or cement as filler, rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient using 10 to 12 tonne power roller and laying with self propelled mechanical paver with electronic sensor, complete all as specified and directed. Notes :- (a) Sprayer. Self propelled or towed pressure sprayer with self heating arrangement and spraying bitumen at specified rate and temparature so as to provide a uniform and even spread of tack coat of biumen. (b) Paver. Self propelled mechanical paver finisher with electronic sensor and hydraulic controls conforming to clause 20.B.3.3.6 of SSR Part-I (c) Tendem vibratory Roller. Tendem vibratory Roller shall be of make Bomag vibromax 752B or equivalent as approved by AGE (I). The machine shall have both modes of compaction i.e. static as well as vibratory mode. The machine shall have auto water spraying system. (d) Pneumatic Tyred Roller. Pneumatic tyred roller shall be of make Bomag vibromax 752B or equivalent as approved by AGE (I). The empty weight shall be of 10 tons with ballast or other materials for compaction purpose. The machine shall have auto spraying system. (e) Bituminous premix shall be prepared in central computerized batch type hot mix plant. (f) Design mix shall be got done by the contractor at his own expenses from IIT/NIT/NABL laboratory as directed by AGE (I). (g) Contractor shall quote his rates by considering binder content @ 5.6% of total mix by weight, however in case of any variation in weight of binder contents on lower side as per actual mix design, the same shall be adjusted @ 60.00 per Kg of bitumen.

M&L preparing bituminous surfaces of road and marking 2.5mm thick centre lines, stop lines, dashes, arrows, etc. and the line exceeding 10cm in width with applied hot thermoplastic road marking paint of approved colour (white or golden yellow), conforming to BS-3262-1989 with special applicator machine and including traffic diverson arrangement, complete all as specified and directed.
