Excavation and Evacuation of Ash Pond No. 2 by engaging earth moving machinery

Evacuation of settled ash from the Ash Pond No.2 by deploying excavating machinery and other accessories including loading into covered dumpers/trucks at work site and unloading at destination arranged by the agency/contractor including carriage of the same for any distance (beyond 25 km) for any lift and lead at both loading and unloading points, dressing to desired level at disposal areas including covering up the filled ash with minimum 300mm thick earth after attaining the required level, all as per direction of the EIC and in line with all rules, notifications and guide line of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and other related departments. Approved disposal areas beyond a distance of 25KM radius from ash pond, is to be arranged by the agency/contractor. Water to be sprinkled at the loading point as well as at the unloading point including during movement on road to prevent air pollution. Mode and methodology of transport will be as per rules, notifications and guide line of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and other related departments. During excavation, the bed of ash pond, approaches inside the pond at different stages shall be prepared suitably for easy and smooth movement of water sprinklers, excavators, covered dumpers, etc. Excavations will be done in correct profile, slope and providing proper berms at respective levels without damaging the safety and stability of the existing embankment of ash pond, including mending damages and rectification of existing embankment as per direction of Engineer- in- charge, if required. The rate includes any dewatering of ash pond and excavated pits, necessary for execution of work, arising out of seepage, rains and whatsoever. (measurement will be made on the basis of pre-work & post-work levels of the ash pond, including cleaning of jungles as required, pre-level & post-level surveying)(with certified & calibrated surveying equipment) The work is to be executed strictly as per the scope of work. Special Terms and conditions, General Terms and conditions of the contract, Safety Clause mentioned in the NIT etc. all in addition to the above. Note: The necessary clearance/permission from the land owner/mine authority and from other authority/department like SPCB/CPCB as required has to be arranged by the agency/contractor and the same will be submitted to the EIC for approval before excavation of Pond Ash. Utilization certificates from the end users (consumers, land fills, road fills etc.) are to be obtained and submitted to this Deptt. failing which payment will not be entertained.
