| 1.04 | Repairing decayed or structurally compromised portions of beams, eaves (Chajjas), or columns by the method of Splicing. The work involves carefully cutting out the rotted timber and inserting a new piece of First Class Seasoned Deodar Wood (Cedrus deodara). The new wood must match the grain, density, and color of the original. The joint shall be a traditional Scarf Joint or Tabled Joint, secured with wooden dowels or reversible adhesive (PVA). | 1.05 | Consolidation of minor fissures, shakes, and cracks (width 2mm to 10mm) in the timber members. The filler material shall be a paste made of fine Deodar sawdust mixed with a reversible conservation-grade adhesive (e.g., Paraloid B-72 or suitable PVA). The paste must be tinted to match the surrounding wood patina. | 1.06 | Surface finishing of the conserved wood using a traditional protective coating. The mixture shall consist of Double Boiled Linseed Oil and Pure Turpentine Oil in a 1:1 ratio. | 1.07 | Providing and applying a specialized Transparent Intumescent Fire-Retardant Coating suitable for heritage timber. The coating must be certified Class 1 / Class A (flame spread index). It should dry to a clear, matte/satin finish that does not obscure the wood grain or alter the historic character. The application shall be done by spray or brush as per manufacturer specifications to achieve the required micron thickness (DFT). The rate includes surface preparation and material cost.
