Construction of granular sub-base by providing coarse graded material, spreading in uniform layers with motor grader on prepared surface, mixing by mix in place method with rotavator at OMC, and compacting with vibratory roller to achieve the desired density, complete as per clause 401

Providing, laying, spreading and compacting graded stone aggregate to wet mix macadam specification including premixing the Material with water at OMC in mechanical mix plant carriage of mixed Material by tipper to site, laying in uniform layers with paver in sub- base / base course on well prepared surface and compacting with vibratory roller to achieve the desired density.

Providing and applying primer coat with bitumen emulsion on prepared surface of granular Base including clearing of road surface and spraying primer at the rate of 0.75 kg/sqm using mechanical means.

Providing and applying tack coat with bitumen emulsion (R.S ) using emulsion pressure distributor at the rate of 0.25 kg per sqm on the prepared bituminous/granular surface cleaned with mechanical broom.

Providing and laying 50mm thick dense graded bituminous macadam with 100-120 TPH batch type HMP producing an average output of 75 tonnes per hour using crushed aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous binder VG 30 @ 4.0 to 4.5 per cent by weight of total mix and filler, transporting the hot mix to work site, laying with a hydrostatic paver finisher with sensor control to the required grade, level and alignment, rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem rollers to achieve the desired compaction as per MoRTH specification clause No. 507 complete in all respects.

Through unit rate for this item include the cost of aggregate, bitumen , filler , fulel for heating bitumen in a boiler premixing of stone aggregate and bitumen hot mix plant and car riage from hot mix plant to siteof work templates barrier lighting arrangement and sundries etc.. The execution of work shall confirm to Clause 505 of MORT&H for Road & Bridge Work 5th Rev.2013. The DBM for the purpose of payment shall be measured in Cubic Metre. The contract Unit Rate for DBM shall be payment in full for carringout the required operation as specified. The rate shall be include for all component listed in clause 501.8.8.2 of MORT&H specification for Road & Bridges. work 5th Rev.2013.if bitumen /binder contents required is more than as specified in BOQ as per MORt&H specification for R&B 5th Rev. No extra payment will be made. The extra bitumen binder contents will be considered as incedental to work.

A part from the conformity with the grading and quantity requirement of individual ingredients, the mix aggregate i.e. crushed bajri, fine aggregates, filler for bituminous concrete (Grading-2) for 50mm thickness shall meet all requirement set forth in clause 505 of MORT&H specifications Road &Bridges 5th revision 2013).

The final grading for the aggregate required for Dense Bitiminous Macadam course (Grading-2) of 50mm thickness conforming to table 500-9 of MORT&H specifications for Road & Highways specifications for Road and Bridge works fifth revision (2013) shall be determined by the engineer- in -Charge after getting Bituminous macadam (Grading-1) designed from Punjab PWD laboratory, Patiala approved by Chief Engineer, Punjab, PWD B&R Branch, Patiala after obtaning 60% of the materials for the required grading at plant site. the design mix so finally approved by the engineer-in -Charge shall be termed as approved Job Mix Formula if it is within permissible limit. The approved mix shall exhibit the following details, Source and Location of all materials. Binder expreseed as percentage by weight of total mix. Stone aggregate of 26.5 mm gauge expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix. Crushed bajri of 11.2 mm gauge expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix. Fine aggregate expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix. Filler expressed as a % age by weight of total mix. A single definite percentage passing the each sieve for the mix aggregate. Density of Dense graded Bituminous Macadam in laboratory should not be less than 2.30gm/cc.

The Contractor thereafter shall be required to complete the supply of various in-gradients mentioned above for Dense graded Bituminous Macadam course (Grading-2) of 50mm thickness as per proportions stipulated in the approved Job Mix Formula.

Filler 2% which may be Rock Ash hydrated lime or cement. The limit having not less than 80 % calcium carbonate, as filler should be preferred.

Providing and laying 30mm thick bituminous concrete with 100-120 TPH batch type hot mix plant producing an average output of 75 tonnes per hour using crushed aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous binder (CRMB-55) @ 5.0 to 5.4 per cent of mix and filler, transporting the hot mix to work site, laying with a hydrostatic paver finisher with sensor control to the required grade, level and alignment, rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem rollers to achieve the desired compaction as per MORTH specification clause No. 509 complete in all respects

The Through unit rate for this item include the cost of aggregate, bitumen , filler , fulel for heating bitumen in a boiler premixing of stone aggregate and bitumen hot mix plant and car riage from hot mix plant to siteof work templates barrier lighting arrangement and sundries etc..The Bitimuous Concrete for purpose of payment shall be measuired in cubic meter. The Contarct unit rate shall be all the specified clause 507.9 except that the rate shall include the provision of bitumen @ 5.4% by weight of total mixture. If bitumen/bimnder contents required is more than as specified in BOQ as per MORT&H speciafications Fifth revision (R&B). No extra payment will be made. The extra bitumen/binder contents will be considered incidental to work.

Before starting the work, the contractor shall propose different percentage of different sizes of coarse and fine aggregates which be intends to mix in order to get required grading. The same will be approved by the Engineer in charge after carrying out the required tests, as the proportions so approved shall be termed design Job Mix Formula.

The total quantity of bitumen for Bituminous Concrete shall be 5.4 % by weight of total mix (CRMB-55)

The final grading for the aggregate required for Bitiminous Concrete (Grading-2) of 40mm thickness conforming to table 500-19 of MORT&H specifications for Road & Highways specifications for Road and Bridge works fifth revision (2013) shall be determined by the engineer- in -Charge after getting Bituminous Concrete (Grading-2) designed from Punjab PWD laboratory, Patiala approved by Superintendenting Engineer, Punjab, PWD B&R Branch, after obtaning 60% of the materials for the required grading at plant site. the design mix so finally approved by the engineer-in -Charge shall be termed as approved Job Mix Formula if it is within permissible limit. The approved mix shall exhibit the following details, Source and Location of all materials. BinderCRMB-55 expreseed as percentage by weight of total mix. Crushed bajri of 11.2/13.2 mm gauge expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix. Fine aggregate expressed as a percentage by weight of total mix.
