COMPREHENSIVE MAINTENANCE OF WATER SUPPLY INSTALLATIONS AND CERTAIN WATER SUPPLY MAINTENANCE WORKS AT DFRL MYSORE

Operation and day to day normal maintenance/repairs of water supply installations consisting of pump sets and stand by DG set (30 KVA) including chlorination of supply water by adding bleaching powder / chlorine granules through chlorinator and maintaining required level of residual chlorine (PPM ) in water at DFRL Mysore area also including filling up water in under ground sumps / pumping water to over head reservoirs and regulating valves of size upto 150 mm dia on all days including sundays and holidays all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge

Water supply system consisting of the following :-

(i) Pump set centrifugal: -

(a) 10 HP x 3 Nos - Pump house No 1

(b) 10 HP x 1 No - Pump house No 2

(c) 5 HP x 1 No - Pump house near hostel Bldg

(d) 3 HP x 1 No-Pump house near hostel Bldg

(e) 5 HP x 2 No - Pump house No 2

(f) 25 HP x 2 No pump house No 4 at DFRL Tech area

(g) 90 HP x 2 Nos at fire fighting pump house

(h) 15 HP x 1 No. Jocky Pump

(ii) Control valves: - (a) 150mm dia - 02 Nos (b) 100mm dia - 17 Nos (c) 80/50 mm dia - 15 Nos (iii) Motor control panel / starters of pump sets

(iv) UG Sumps:- (a) 1.56 lakhs gallons capacity - 01 Nos (b) 15000 gallons capacity - 1 Nos (c) 10000 gallons capacity - 1 Nos (d) 5000 gallons capacity - 02 Nos (e) 25000 Glns Capacity - 01 No.

(v) OH Reservoir:- (a) 20000 gallons capacity - 1 Nos (b) 10000 gallons capacity - 1 Nos

(vi) Chlorinator 200 gms/hr capacity gravity feed - 3 Nos (vii) DG set 30 KVA with control panel - 1 No

Note: - (i) The rate quoted shall be deemed to inclusive of maintaining of required PPM of chlorine for drinking water by mixing bleaching powder or operating chlorinator or chloronome plant as required the water and testing of water samples

(iii) The unit rate quoted shall be deemed to includes operation of DG sets 30 KVA in case of power failure in pump house

(iv) Shift to be operated- Three shifts each of 8 hours duration (1st Shift 0600 to 1400 hrs, 2nd Shift 1400 to 2200 hrs and 3rd Shift 2200 to 0600 hrs) shall be operated at each installation with one FGM per shift at Tech area pump house and another FGM at MES pump houses.

Maintenance and repairs of internal and external water supply system including attending day to day complaints in the DFRL technical and residential area complete all as specified and as directed:-

(a) Nature of duties (works) to be attended: -

(i) Attending repairing and upkeeping of water pipe lines , pump sets for any leakage/ replacement

(ii) Changing/ servicing of taps, washers, pipe lines stop cocks wash basins, sinks and connected works all as directed

(iii) Replacement of float/ ball valves sets in the service trank etc

(iv) In addition to above all general water supply complaints shall be attended to as directed by the Engineer-in-charge

(c) Shift to be operated :-

(i) General shift from 0800 hours to 1700 hours with one hour break for lunch on all days except holidays and sundays Plumber (Skilled )-1Nos and Helper -1 Nos

(ii) They may also be asked to perform duty at any time if any need arise or as directed by Engineer-in-charge

Note:- All store required for carrying out the above work shall be supplied by the department and tools and plants shall be provided by the contractor

Excavation in trenches not exceeding 1.5M wide and not exceeding 1.5M in depth and getting out in soft / loose soil for laying of GI pipe line complete all as specified and as directed.

Excavation in trenches not exceeding 1.5M wide and not exceeding 1.5M in depth and getting out in hard/ dense soil / road crossing for laying of GI pipe line complete all as specified and as directed.

Returning fillling the excavated soil including spreading, levelling watering and well ramming in layers not exceeding 15 cm thickness complete all as specified and as directed.

Removing of excavated surplus soil to a distance not exceeding 50M and depositing where directed at a level not exceeding 1.5M above the starting point complete all as specified and as directed.

M & L PCC 1:2:4 ( 20 mm graded aggregate type B2) for road crossings.

Taking out / removing of unserviceable pipe line, supply and laying in trenches, GI pipe 80mm dia medium grade including fittings complete all as specified and directed.

Taking out / removing of unserviceable pipe line, supply and laying in trenches, GI pipe 50mm dia medium grade including fittings complete all as specified and directed.

Taking out / removing of unserviceable pipe line, supply and fixing on wall, GI pipe 50mm dia medium grade including fittings complete all as specified and directed.

Taking out / removing of unserviceable pipe line, supply and laying in trenches, GI pipe 40mm dia medium grade including fittings complete all as specified and as directed.

Taking out / removing of unserviceable pipe line, supply andfixing on wall , GI pipe 40mm dia medium grade including fittings complete all as specified and as directed.

Removing unserviceable gate valve supply and fix gate valve heavy duty cast copper alloy ISI marked with cast iron wheel head screwed both ends with iron pipe and fixed all as directed for following pipes:-

(a) 65 mm bore

(b) 50 mm bore

(c) 40 mm bore

(d) 25 mm bore

(e) 20 mm bore

Removing unserviceable foot valve supply and fix foot valve heavy duty cast iron ISI marked all as directed for following pipes:-

(a) 100 mm bore

(b) 80 mm bore

(c) 50 mm bore

Supply and fix in replacement NRV (Non Return valve) horrizontal type of following sizes: -

(a) 65 mm bore

(b) 80 mm bore

Supply and fix in replacement sluice valve, cast iron body with SS spindle and CI wheel, PN 1.6 rating as per IS 14846, long body including necessary flanged joints with rubber washer complete all as specified and as directed for the following sizes: -

(a) 80 mm dia bore

(b) 100 mm dia bore

(c) 150 mm dia bore

M&L Cleaning of water tanks by removing scales and fungus from the wall by scraping out and removing fungus inclunding complete removal of sluges accummulated at the bottom of tanks after draining out entire quantity of water from tank, washing the tanks with clear water after washing with bleaching powder and including applying of one coat of white wash all as specified of following capacity.

(a) UG Sump of 5000 gallons capacity

(b) UG Sump of 10000 gallons capacity

(c) UG Sump of 15000 gallons capacity

(d) UG Sump of 1.56 Lakh gallons capacity

(e) Semi UG Static Water Tank 25000 gallon capacity

M&L for Cleaning of water tanks by removing scales from the wall by scraping out and removing fungus inclunding complete removal of sluges accummulated at the bottom of tanks after draining out entire quantity of water from tank, washing the tanks with clear water and bleaching powder including applying of one coat of white wash all as specified for OH Reservoirs of following capacity: -

(a) OH Reservoir of 10000 gallons capacity

(b) OH Reservoir of 20000 gallons capacity

Supply and fix in replacement pressure gauge 0-7 Kg/ sqcm , 100 mm dia with U tube SS and cock SS for control complete all as specified and as directed.

Supply only chlorine granules calcium based for disinfection of drinking water with min available chlorine 65 to 70 % packed in plastic drum within plastic bags inside Make Aquafit or equivalent E-in-C approved product ( certified by All india institute of hygiene)

Supply and lay in trenches PVC pipe (pressure rating 8 Kg/Sq cm) incl all fittings fixtures incl GI brackets with clamps of suitable sizes (excavation and earth work and fittings will be measured and paid separately)
