Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) boring of Metre 14/16 inch dia guided bore hole across existing railway track for laying of 12 inch dia CI/GI pipe at minimum depth of 2.5 m below ground level, without disturbing or damaging existing track formation, ballast, formation, S&T cables, OFC and other railway utilities, complete in all respects as per site requirement and approved alignment. The work shall include deployment of a hydraulically powered directional drilling rig of adequate capacity, along with fully guided steering system, trained and experienced operating personnel, and all necessary support equipment to successfully execute the crossing. The system shall be capable of rotating, pushing and pulling the drill string with controlled pressure and variable steering angle, and shall be anchored properly to withstand all operational forces during drilling. The bore head shall be steerable and equipped with suitable cutting tools and drilling fluid jet system, capable of maintaining accurate alignment and required bore profile. The drilling system shall include suitable mud motor of adequate capacity for driving boring tools and maintaining directional control. A complete drilling fluid (bentonite slurry) mixing and pumping system shall be provided for preparation and circulation of drilling mud composed of clean water, bentonite clay and approved additives to stabilize bore hole, reduce friction and ensure smooth pipe pulling operation. The work shall include pilot boring, pre-reaming (if required), and final pipe pulling operation, ensuring proper bore diameter and smooth installation of 12 inch CI/GI pipe without deformation or damage. The system shall maintain continuous monitoring of bore path to avoid any interference with railway assets. All equipment shall be in good working condition with adequate spare parts, consumables and backup arrangements to ensure uninterrupted execution. The contractor shall ensure complete safety of railway track, structures, signalling systems and underground utilities during execution of work. The entire operation shall be carried out strictly as per approved drawing, safety norms, and instructions of the Engineer-in-Charge at site, ensuring precision, stability and safe completion of HDD crossing without affecting train operations. base sleepers/revised wider base sleepers for continuity of track and maintaining track parameters as per Para 522 of IRPWM 2020 to keep the track fit for 30 kmph. SH rail over new wider base sleepers/revised wider base sleepers to be replaced with new/earlier existing rail on running track (with replacement of rubber pad, liner & greased ERC and greasing of liner contract area. Grease to be used should be of servogem RR3 from Indian oil as soon as loose rail length of track reaches 500m/750m (as per decision of Railway site engineer i.e. SSE/JE/P-Way). Loading of track panel (SH rail over old normal sleeper and tied with ERC) of approximately 13m length over Railway wagons and unloading of track panels of the length of 13m (or any suitable length) and wider base sleeper/revised wider base sleeper will be done during traffic block. TRR with the rail of the length of 250m to 500m which was removed initially for AT, will have to be done as soon as track of loose rail exceeds 500m length. The whole process will continue till completion of work. Auxiliary Track (AT) will have to be removed with advancement of TSR work as per direction of Railway (SSE/JE/P-Way). (B) SQRS/PQRS Depot : Track panel with SH rail of 13m or any suitable length over wider bases sleepers/revised wider base sleepers will be made with necessary fittings in SQRS Depot. Loading of these panels over Railway Wagon sand unloading of released track panels (released from running track) consisting of all types of rails & sleepers from Railway wagon at SQRS depot using Contractor's own portal crane including dismantling and stacking each component of track properly at designated locations. Note : This item of Through sleeper renewal with wider base sleeper/revised wider base sleeper is a composite item and all activities as required will have to be done by the Contractor with his/her own SQRS Machine & other machines, tools and plant sincluding all other resources as per requirement of the work (in SQRS Depot and during traffic block in running track). Railway will provide wagons and locomotive free of cost for loading/unloading and transportation to/from SQRS Depot/work site (running track ) for loose rail panels with normal old sleepers and with wider base sleepers/revised wider base sleepers.
