Water Proofing Treatment of Roof Rain Water Pipe and Cracks in CMRP Building of NISER Campus Jatni

Providing and fixing APP (Atactic Polypropylene Polymer) modified prefabricated five layer 2 mm thick water proofing membrane, black finished reinforced with glass fibre matt consisting of a coat of bitumen primer for bitumen membrane @ 0.40 litre/sqm by the same membrane manufacture of density at 25°C, 0.87 - 0.89 kg/ litre and viscosity 70 - 160 cps. Over the primer coat the layer of membrane shall be laid using Butane torch and sealing all joints etc., and preparing the surface complete. The vital physical and chemical parameters of the membrane shall be as under: Joint strength in longitudinal and transverse direction at 23°C as 350/300 N/ 5 cm. Tear strength in longitudinal and transverse direction as 60/80N. Softening point of membrane not less than 150°C. Cold flexibility shall be upto -2°C when tested in accordance with ASTM, D - 5147. The laying of membrane shall be got done through the authorised applicator of the manufacture of membrane. 2mm (for corrugated roof sheets)

Rain Water Pipe Treatment: Providing and applying of MAPEI MAPELASTIC SMART/equivalent two-component, high flexible, elastic cementitious mortar made from synthetic fibres, special admixtures and synthetic polymers in water dispersion with an elongation of 120% (DIN 53504), Static crack bridging ability of >2.5mm (EN 1062-7), Permeability to water vapour sD = 3.6 m, µ = 1800 (EN ISO 7783-1), Impermeability to water < 0.05 kg/m²·h0.5 (EN 1062-3), Permeability to CO₂ sDCO2 >50m (EN 1062-6), Reaction to fire (Euroclass): E (EN 13501-1), adhesion to concrete after 28 days: 1.3 N/mm² (EN 1542) when applied @ 2mm thickness on the surface prepared for waterproofing to be carried out to ensure the mechanical properties of the product. Apply two layers of the product, with a non-woven polypropylene fabric of MAPETEX SEL/equivalent 150 gsm with a weight of 150 g/m², placed between the first and second layers with a min overlap of 5 cm. The application of the product shall be carried out after the thorough preparation of the surface which includes cleaning, crack treatment, grouting. Minimum of 10mm all round gap to be provided between the pipe and the core. Provide shuttering below the core and providing and applying the hydro-swellable paste for joint treatment. MAPEPROOF SWELL/equivalent Single component hydro-expensive paste. Providing and applying of super flow micro-concrete with dual shrinkage-compensation called MAPEFILL/equivalent 06, high flow, single component formulation. The micro-concrete shall be in accordance to EN 1504-6 & shall exhibit a compressive strength minimum of >40 MPa at 7 days and >55 MPa at 28 days, a flexural strength of >9 Mpa after 28 days, adhesion to concrete substrate of >2.5 Mpa after 28 days. The microconcrete shall not require polymer bonding agent as primer. Can be used for grouting of gaps with thicknesses ranging from 50 mm to 250 mm and shall have fresh wet density in excess of 2250 kg/M3.

Expansion Joint:Providing, mixing and applying SBR polymer (of approved make) modified Cement mortar in proportion of 1:4 (1 cement: 4 graded coarse sand with polymer minimum 2% by wt. of cement used) as per specifications and directions of Engineer-in-charge. Note: Measurement and payment: The pre-measurement of thickness shall be done just after the surface preparation is completed and Payment under this item shall be made only after proper wet curing has been done and surface has been satisfactorily evaluated by sounding / tapping with a blunt metal instrument.. 12 mm average thickness.

EXPANTION JOINTS TREATMENT Wall: Expansion Joint Treatment Wall (170-200 mm width). The alkali-resistant rubber tape with felt backing and edges (such as Mapeband produced by MAPEI S.p.A. /equivalent) is to be applied must be clean, compact and dry. Place masking tape along the ends of the joint to mark the boundary of the layer of adhesive applied. Apply a first even layer 1-2 mm thick of two-component thixotropic epoxy adhesive (such as Adesilex PG2 produced by MAPEI S.p.A. /equivalent) with a smooth trowel on the clean, dry substrate. Try to avoid the adhesive running into the joint or crack.
