MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS REQUIRED FOR B/R & E/M SERVICES (Sch 'A' Part-VIII)

BUILDING & STRUCTURE M&L for providing and fixing stainless steel (Grade 304) 4 seater benches with back rest of size and shape as per design and drawing approved by GE with railing made of hollow tubes, channels, plates etc., including welding, grinding, buffing, polishing and making curvature (where ever required) and fitting the same with necessary stainless steel base plate and dash fasteners with necessary accessories & stainless steel bolts etc., of required size, on the top of floor with suitable arrangement as per drawing complete all as specified and directed. NOTE : Weight of each bench shall be not less than 50 Kg approx.

EARTHWORK, SITE CLEARANCE AND SITE DEVELOPMENT Bringing approved Earth may be mixed with granules / pebbles not exceeding 40 mm size (as approved by Garrison Engineer) from sources outside defence land including all cost such as royalty if any, transportation, taxes if any etc. complete all as specified and directed. NOTE :- (a) Earth required for the item shall be supplied by contractor from outside of MOD land at any lead, at his own arrangement. (b) All cost of procurement of earth including cost of transportation, compaction royalties, tax etc shall be deemed to be included in the unit rate quoted by the contractor. (c) Forming embankments / filling in low lying areas including raising (or lowering) earth, spreading in layers not exceeding 25 cm thick, watering ramming / rolling and finishing of required size, shape etc not exceeding 1.5 m high from base / natural ground level. (d) With reference to Clause 3.6 of MES Schedule Part-II on Serial Page No. 21, it is clarified that measurement of the above item shall be of finished embankment / traverse of filled earth after consolidation / compaction and 5% deduction shall be made from measured and calculated volume to allow for increase in bulk. (e) Total quantity / partial quantity of earth may not be available in Missamari Area. The contractor shall bring the earth outside area and it is advised to quote the rate considering available of soil and its lead involved. (f) Compaction Test Specification : Compaction of earth fill shall be carried out in layers not exceeding 250 mm (loose thickness), and each layer shall be properly watered, rammed and compacted by mechanical means to achieve the required density. The degree of compaction shall not be less than 95% of the maximum dry density (MDD) as determined by the Standard Proctor Test (IS:2720-Part VII) unless otherwise specified.The field density shall be determined by the Sand Replacement Method (IS:2720 – Part XXVIII) or any other approved method. The cost of all testing, including sampling, equipment, and laboratory arrangements, shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rates. No extra payment shall be made on this account.

(INTERNAL ELECTRIFICATION & AIR CIRCULATION) S&F Air circulator heavy duty wall mounting industrial type metal body fan not less than 600mm sweep with Minimum air delivery 300 cum/ minute,1400RPM, 220-240 V, 50Hz with and including making all electrical connections using 2.5 x 3 core flexible sheated copper conductor cable with and including all connected accessories such as fast nuts and bolts duly clamped on walls and fan base all specified directed by Eng-in-charge.

(EXTERNAL ELECTRIFICATION ) Material and labour for, street light bracket (suitable for secruity light fittings) upto 1.5 metre made out of GI pipe of light grade 40 mm dia in proper shaped, bended, threaded and drilling holes for wire entry and MS clamp of suitable size in proper shape and designed complete all as specified and directed.

Supply and fix for, cable junction box 155X210X92 mm in size, made out of thermoplastic sheet having IP 66/69 protection for outdoor installation fixed with 4 way bakelite cable terminals including 03 Nos polymide gland with check nut (M-32 - 2 nos) fixed on poles with flat aluminium strip clamps of size 25x3mm, nuts, bolts, washers etc., complete all as specified and directed. Make : Cat No. DK 1616 G of HENSEL or equivalent model in as per List of Make

Horizontal boring for passing GI protection pipe up to 40 mm bore (dia), under road/ foot path, not exc. 10.00 metre in a single length, complete all as specified and as directed.Note : (i) All the precaution to be taken by the contractor before drilling the bore. The contractor has to take plan of existing cables any type and pipe line in existing area before drilling the bore. (ii) Any damage to existing cables any type and pipe line in the way of drilling the bore will be repaired and make good by the contractor within 24 hours. No extra cost will be paid in this account. (iii) Contractor has to get the survey of route, length and depth for boring before quoting the rate.
