Notes for item No. 226: (i) The earthing shall comply to IS 3043, UL 467, BS/EN50164-7 (ii) The earth resistance shall be less than 01Ohm. A guarantee for 3years of this criterion on a Rs. 100 stamp paper shall be given by the Contractor. The quoted rate shall be deemed to be inclusive of this aspect (iii) To obtain earth resistance less than 01Ohm, if a combination two or more earthings are to be inter-connected or the length of the electrode/s is/are to be increased it shall be measured and paid as one earthing only (iv) Testing of earthing shall be carried out in presence of Departmental rep and requisite test reports shall be submitted (v) Cost of all excavation & earthwork required shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rate

M&L for earthing using GI earthing strip 25x4mm with galvanised steel earth plate electode 600x600x6mm thick buried directly in ground, earth pit not less than 2.25m deep below ground level connection to and including GI strip of size 25x4mm extended to 7.5m as earth lead by means of GI bolts, nuts, etc. with provision of charcoal and salt all as per electrical plate No. 3 of SSR Part-I including water arrangement with GI pipe 20mm dia (medium grade), earth lead protection pipe 50mm madium grade with bends, elbow, etc. from earth plate to test point, excavation and earthwork in any type of soil, returning, filling, ramming and removing of soil to distance not exceeding 50m, make good to match with existing surface making PCC pit (earth chamber) having internal size 300x300x300mm and outer size 600x 600x600mm with RCC reinforced cover 50mm thick and testing on completion including making test points on wall as per SSR specifications, taking down and disposing off old earthing complete all as specified and as directed

Notes for serial item Nos. 228 & 229: (i) The cost of copper / GI earth continuity wire with GI pipe 50mm medium grade upto 7.5m is deemed to be included (ii) The earth chamber to be constructed 0.5m from edge of earth pit with necessary watering arrangement. The cost for the same is deemed to be included in above item (iii) Earthing shall produce desired earth resistance values as directed by the Engineer-in-charge
