Replacement of chains for Product Elevator B at NP Plant FACT - CD, during ATA 2024

Work Involves: The required chains, buckets, bolts, tools and tackles shall be collected and transported from Store/Workshop/Mechanical Maint.Dept.[NP] to the site for replacing the chains of Product Elevator-A/B at NP Plant, during ATA 2024. After getting clearance from the Officer-in-charge, the equipment shall be de-coupled from the Motor & the Top cover, Boot cover, Boot Doors and all inspection doors of the Elevator shall be opened /removed. The gear / tyre coupling of gear box shaft shall be de-coupled. Necessary arrangement for manual rotating of the Elevator to be done, including dismantling of back-stopper key of gear box and fixing of cranking lever in the high speed shaft of the gear box. Delink the chain from the bottom side of the elevator after arresting the free movement/rotation. The new chain shall be linked to the free end of the existing chain and start the dismantling of elevator buckets one by one. For the purpose of suitably position the buckets to the bottom side of the elevator for easy dismantling, rotate the Top head sprocket of the elevator manually. Remove all the existing buckets [around 132 Nos.] and the full chain [around 400 feet] in this way and thus replace the existing chain with new one. When the replacement of the existing chain has been completed, the Bottom Tail end sprocket of the elevator shall be dismantled and replace it with new/serviced sprocket and aligned it properly. Free ends of the newly erected chain shall be linked properly with links and lock pins. All guide angles shall be checked for tightness, position & damage and shall be rectified /fabricated & replaced properly, if required. Elevator buckets shall be fixed back properly to the new chain. All the buckets shall be fixed properly and bolted to the new chain. Minor repair/welding of the buckets, drilling holes & providing shim plates etc., wherever necessary for suitably fixing the buckets to the chain is also in the scope of the contractor. The boot covers shall fixed back in position after releasing the tail end sprocket. Rotate the top head sprocket manually, tight the bolts and also provide additional check nut if required. The bottom side cover shall be fixed, after positioning the tail end sprocket shaft. If required, the bottom tail end sprocket shaft bearing shall be replaced. Rotate the elevator manually for checkup before trail run and remove the hand rotation arrangement, after getting clearance from the officer in charge. The equipment shall be coupled back and take trail run. Satisfactory performance of the equipment shall be ensured and any pending work for achieving this, which is connected with this work, shall be arranged. The Top cover, Boot Doors and all inspection doors shall be boxed up. After one month of commissioning, all the bucket fixing bolts & nuts shall be checked for tightness and to be rectified if required. All scrap materials, old chain, buckets, structurals etc. shall be transported to scrap yard/area ear marked and thus clean the site as per instruction. [The unit of one lump-sum is for Product Elevator-A/B .]
