Surface excavation in soft or loose soil not exceeding 30 cm deep and averaging 15 cm deep, for buildings, roads, paths, and compound development, comprising: setting out and pegging alignment; clearing light surface grass and organic vegetation; cutting, excavating, and dressing ground to required levels, slopes, and cambers; getting out and depositing excavated earth neatly at disposal heaps or spreading within standard lead up to 50 m and lift up to 1.5 m; grading, watering, and ramming bottom subgrade to true surface, complete all as specified. (Note: Earthwork and surface excavation operations shall conform to IS 1200 [Part 1: Method of measurement of earthwork], IS 3764 [Excavation work - Code of safety], and MES SSR Part-I [Section 3: Earthwork]. Soil classification shall strictly comply with 'soft/loose soil' [soil, sand, clay, loam, or silt easily removable by ordinary spades, pickaxes, and shovels]. In accordance with IS 1200 [Part 1], excavation not exceeding 30 cm in depth and averaging 15 cm shall be classified and measured under 'Surface Excavation' in square metres [Sq.m] of the net plan area excavated. Rates include setting out baseline pegs and level battens, light clearance of grass and roots, manual or mechanical excavation up to 30 cm depth, getting out, stacking or uniform spreading of excavated soil with a lead not exceeding 50 m and lift not exceeding 1.50 m, profiling side slopes, and watering and mechanical/manual compaction of the exposed subgrade bed. Deep trench/foundation excavation exceeding 30 cm in depth, excavation in hard dense soil, soft disintegrated rock or hard rock requiring blasting/chiselling, transport of surplus excavated spoil beyond 50 m lead, and anti-termite soil treatment [IS 6313] shall be measured and paid for separately under relevant items of Schedule 'A'.

Material and labour for broken stone hardcore or soling of nominal gauge not exceeding 63 mm, as underbed in floors, foundations, plinth protection, and pavings, at all depths, heights, and levels, conforming to IS 383 and MES SSR Part-I, comprising: preparing and dressing subgrade; spreading, hand-packing, and levelling hard durable broken stone in uniform layers not exceeding 15 cm compacted thickness; filling voids with stone screenings, quarry dust, or sand; copious watering; consolidation by heavy mechanical roller or power rammer to a dense, true, unyielding surface, complete all as specified.

Material and labour for 75 mm thick cement concrete Type C2 (1:3:6 nominal mix using 40 mm nominal gauge graded crushed stone aggregate) as in paths, walkways, ramps, steps, and plinth protections, at all heights and levels, comprising: preparing, dressing, and watering sub-grade; supplying, erecting, and stripping timber or steel formwork with necessary propping and bracing; machine-mixing; placing and consolidating concrete with plate vibrators and hand rammers to required falls and risers; finishing surface even and scored/rough to receive subsequent topping or tile flooring; continuous water curing for minimum 14 days, complete all as specified.

Material and labour for providing and laying 80 mm thick factory-made rubber-moulded interlocking precast cement concrete paver blocks of M-40 grade of approved shape, size, colour, and pattern, conforming to IS 15658, in roads, driveways, parking, and industrial yards, comprising: preparing sub-base; screeding 50 mm compacted bed of clean coarse sand (Zone-II conforming to IS 383); laying vibratory-compacted grey cement paver blocks with approved synthetic iron oxide pigments; mechanical diamond saw edge-cutting to profile; compacting and embedding pavers into sand cushion using plate compactor; broom-filling joints with fine sand and sweeping clean, complete all as specified. (Note: Precast interlocking concrete paver blocks shall conform to IS 15658 [minimum 28-day characteristic compressive strength ≥40" MPa" , individual block strength ≥34" MPa" , water absorption ≤6%, and abrasion resistance], synthetic inorganic pigments to IS 44 / BS EN 12878, coarse bedding sand to IS 383 [Zone-II, clean and sharp], joint-filling fine sand to IS 1983 / IS 383 [Zone-IV passing 2.36 mm sieve], and construction practice to IRC:SP:63 and MES SSR Part-I.
