Survey, identification & investigation of underground, over-ground & overhead Utilities & Structures using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) System & Manual Trenching and preparation of Conceptual Diversion Plans & Estimates for shifting the Utilities & Structures in connection with the work of Bangalore Suburban Railway Project in and around Bangalore City

Carrying out survey for locating underground utilities by manual / mechanical trenching duly taking all safety precautions and obtaining the location of utilities using Total Station and Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) and obtaining the co-ordinates in 3 dimensions and submission of the details of Utilities and their locations in 3 dimensions. Co-ordinates at every 10m interval for straight run & at every 2 m interval in case of curved location, have to be worked out. The item also includes clearing of bushes, debris, garbage etc. and any other incidental expenses etc. to conduct the survey. The trenches shall be 30 cm wide. They shall be 1 metre deep in general, unless rock is encountered within 1 metre.

Carrying out survey for locating underground utilities using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) duly taking all safety precautions and obtaining the location of utilities using Total Station and Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) and obtaining the co-ordinates in 3 dimensions and submission of the details of Utilities and their locations in 3 dimensions. Co-ordinates at every 10m interval for straight run & at every 2 m interval in case of curved location, have to be worked out. The item also includes clearing of bushes, debris, garbage etc. and any other incidental expenses etc. to conduct the survey. The item also includes making the ground level by re-adjusting the nearby earth for the purpose of running the equipment of GPR.

Carrying out survey for locating utilities / structures above ground and overhead duly taking all safety precautions and obtaining the location of utilities / structures using Total Station and Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) and obtaining the co-ordinates in 3 dimensions and submission of the details of Utilities / structures and their locations in 3 dimensions. Co-ordinates at every 10m interval for straight run & at every 2 m interval in case of curved location, have to be worked out. The item also includes clearing of bushes and any other incidental expenses etc. to conduct the survey.

Preparation of drawings of underground / over ground / overhead utilities / structures / infringements showing the location with table of co-ordinates in 3 dimensions. Co-ordinates at every 10 m intervals for straight run and at every 2 m interval in case of curved location, have to be mentioned in the drawings. Distance from the nearest landmark (s) and from the centre of the nearest track shall be marked in the drawing. The drawing shall be given in soft copy in AutoCAD and 3 nos. of Hard copies.

Carrying out survey for identifying alternative locations along with routes for underground / over ground / overhead utility shifting, preparation of diversion plans and detailed estimates of quantities and costs for shifting. The item includes attending offices of competent authorities of various utility owners, conducting joint inspections along with the authorized representatives of the utility owners and obtaining approvals for the locations proposed for shifting of utilities. The drawings of the locations proposed for utility shifting shall give the distances from nearest landmarks and centre of the nearest tracks along with table of coordinates in all the 3 dimensions. Soft copies and 3 Nos. of hard copies of the drawings hall be given. Approval of competent authorities and the utility owner shall be obtained on the drawings showing the alternative location and route. No additional payment will be made if the location proposed for shifting is not approved by the competent authority resulting in repetition of survey for identification of fresh location.

Preparation and submission of final report giving complete and comprehensive record of work done, drawings and estimates submitted in approved format.

Fixing control points as bench marks on ground by casting concrete blocks. Coordinates of nearest standard bench mark shall be obtained by the contractors from the concerned authorities.

Note : 1) Underground Utilities: Railway signalling cables, OFC, Telecommunication Cables, Water supply and Sewer Lines, Gas supply and Electrical Lines. The UG Utilities may be parallel / perpendicular to the track in the Railway land or in the land of proposed Suburban Railway Track. 2) Overground and OH Utilities: Road Over Bridges, Road Under Bridges, Foot Over Bridges, Electricity Overhead Crossings, Pipeline Crossings, Signalling boxes of Railways etc. 3) The Utilities mentioned above is only for indicative purpose. 4) The survey shall be carried out for collection of information of utilities upto 5m depth on both sides of existing Railway track, till the Railway boundary. All utilities (metallic and non-metallic) shall be surveyed and noted. 5) Accuracy of location of utility detected shall be within ± 50 cm in both vertical and horizontal directions.
