MARINE SURVEY, SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS OF CAUSTIC SODA

Amount

A) Ullaging/sounding of the ship’s tanks to determine the quantity on vessel’s arrival, Reullaging/sounding of the ship’s tanks on completion/lightning or inspecting the empty tanks, ullaging/sounding of the shore tanks and determination of Quantity received in shore tanks (Initial and Final)

B) Drawing sample from Ship’s tanks and arranging testing and analysis of the quality of the caustic soda per sample. Sampling and analysis of caustic soda should be as per the guidelines & latest standards.

C) Collection of load port samples from the vessel & drawing 1 additional set of samples (sample bottles under the scope of surveyor) from the ship tanks in the presence of NALCO representatives & hand over to dispatch section (No analysis required)

D) Supervision of loading of Caustic Soda into wagons, taking initial Caustic Soda tank reading before loading of BTCS rake and taking of initial and final dip readings of individual wagons, determining the quantity of Caustic Soda Lye loaded into wagons, submission of detailed survey report indicating the quantity loaded in Lye form as well as on 100% basis.

E) Taking of final dip readings of shore tanks to arrive at the balance quantity available in the tanks after loading of each rake

F) Supervision of loading of Caustic Soda lye loaded into road tankers, taking both tare and gross weighment to analyse and report the density and concentration of the cargo, loaded and Sealing of the tank wagons, submission of the survey report, ascertaining quantity of caustic soda loaded into the road tanker on lye and 100% basis.

G) Physical verification of Caustic soda lye in all the three tanks on the last date of month.

H) Physical stock verification as & when required
