The baffle in the end box makes the tube arrangement two-pass type. The cold fluid, i.e. air enters the shell & flows over the tubes. Hot fluid is hot water, which is obtained from a geyser & flows through the tubes. 25% cut baffles are provided in the path of air.
Measuring tank measures water flow rate while an orifice with water manometer measure air flow. Thermometers measure the inlet & outlet temperatures of the fluids.
