REPAIR TO BITUMEN HUNGRY PORTION AND SURFACES OF RUNWAY INCLUDING PTT, CLEANING OF CLOSED DRAINS AND DUCTS AT AF STN PHALODI

M & L for cleaning the surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc, sweeping with compressor air blower to remove all loose dust, dirt etc and taking out with compressed air and making the surface free from dust etc, drying the surface and applying unifirmly two coats of cold Polymer Modified Emulsion (PME) by using self-propelled emulsion distribution assemply or towed emulsion pressure sprayer, equipped for spraying the PME uniformly & mopping the surfaces, total undiluted PME @ minimum 1.00 litre per sqm in two coats in the ratio 1:1 (PME : Water) and ensure uniform finish of PME on runways/PTT etc complete all as per manufactures instruction and all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note:- Following provisions are considered to be inclusive in the quotated rate. (i) Due care shall be taken for friction parameters during application of PME as per ICAO standard and on completion of work Contractor shall submit friction testing report from approved Lab/Agency for any No's of points/locations as directed by GE. (ii) The work shall be carried out through authorised & registered applicator of the manufacturer. (iii) Special care shall be taken to fill gaps/cracks up to 3mm size with minral filler as per manufacturer's insturctions and quoted rate is included for repair of gaps/cracks. (iv) A performance guarantee certificate for two year shall be submitted by the Contractor to the completion of the works as specified. (v) No price adjustment shall be applicable if excess/wastage quantity of polymer modified emulsion (PME) than that mentioned above is used depending upon condition of the surface to be treated. (vi) Minus price adjustment as per pro-rata of quoted rate for min 1.0 litre/Sqm in two coats shall be made if less quantity of PME as per manufacturer's instructions and subsequently approved by GE is used in work. (vii) PME must have penetration value of 10-20 mm and initial setting time four to five hours but not more than eight hours. (viii) Trial patch of size 15m x 15m of minimum three makes as listed in tender document. (ix) On approval of trial patch the Contractor shall immediately procure the total qty of material required and also submit PVs and test reports before commencement of work. (x) The commencement and completion of work shall be within the preiod as per site availability and users directives and the Contractor shall adhere strictly to the time lines by complying for all emergency requirements as per direction of users and complete the work satisfactorily in all respects within the specified period. (xi) Cost of all tests as specified in PS shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rates of the respective items of the BOQ/Sch'A'.

M & L for repairs to cracks of width less than 4 mm in flexible surfaces by cleaning of the cracks with coir brushes and make it free from dust and apply cold Polymeric Modified Emulsion (PME) as primer coat (0.5 Ltr per Running meter) and first 50% of the crack/ cavity filled with cold polymeric modified emulsion (PME) (1.5 ltr per running meter) and followed with mineral fillers (fibrous cum quartz powder) mixed with cement in 1:1 ratio in two coats to ensure complete filling/total filling of the gap in line with existing pavement finally dry coarse sand mixed with cement in 1: ration sprinkled on top complete all as per manufacturer's instructions complete all as specified and directed. Note:- Following provisions are considered to be inclusive in the quotated rate. (i) The work shall be carried out through authorised & registered applicator of the manufacturer. (v) Cost of all tests as specified in PS shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rates of the respective items of the BOQ/Sch'A'. (vi) Softening point of residual bitumen shall be above 60 degree Celcius.

Cleaning existing storm water closed drains and ducts any type of width and depth incluing cleaning of grass, vegetation growth etc and removing debries/spoil to a distance exc 500 m but n. exc 1.5 Km, complete all as specified and directed.
