Soil investigation by Auger method to carryout bore holes with 150 mm diameter shell and auger equipment in all sort of soil max 3.00 meter depth including one Number Trial Pit (Size 1.20 x 1.20), 5.00 meter away from BH (Both centrally placed). Collection of disturbed, undisturbed samples in 75 mm thin dia wall tube sample from bore holes (One bore at each location) and conducting suitable laboratory test as per relevant IS Code mentioned below:- (a) Following Lab Test to be conducted on disturb soil sample as per relevant Specification of IS 2720. (i) Sieve analysis & Grain Size Distribution by sieve analysis & hydrometer test. (ii) Atterbergs limits. (iii) Natural moisture Content. (iv) Particle size analysis test. (v) Bulk density/ dry density. (b) Following Lab test to be conducted on undisturbed soil sample as per relevant Specification of IS 2720. (i) Natural moisture Content. (ii) Bulk density. (iii) Specific gravity. (iv) Free swell index and swelling properties of soil. (v) Organic matter in soil, if any. (vi) Consolidation test (Compression Index Value) (vii) Triaxial Compression test and determination of shear properties. (viii) Harmful salt. (c) Ground water Table & HFL. (d) Carrying out field California Bearing ratio (CBR) value at specified site as directed by Engr-in-Charge in tabular form as per IS :2720(Part-31) :1990 RA-2010) and other relevant IS. (e) Safe bearing capacity at 1.0 mtr, 1.5mtr, 2.0 & 2.5 mtr in tabular form as per IS 8009 (pt 1)-1976, IS 2720 (Pt-II)-1960, IS 6403-1986 & IS 1080-1985 and other relevant IS code :- (i) In case bearing capacity is low i.e less than 1.5 KN/Sqm. (ii) It should also be given at a depth of 2.5 mtr.

The following parameter will form part of Geo-Exploration report to be submitted by the soil consultants. (a) RL of the ground level / foundation level with ref to a BM should invariably be mentioned in the soil investigation report. (b) Recommendation of SBC should be given as per relevant IS code. (c) Video graphic record, photographic record of geo-exploration as well as testing shall essentially form part of the report. (d) Recommendation as regard possibility off liquefaction of soil in case of saturated or partially saturated loose/uncomplicated sandy soils. (e) Swelling index and swelling pressure in respect of black cotton soil & its depth/layers. (f) Depth of ground water table in peak monsoon & peak summer after correlation of result with seasonal variation of water table in station. (g) Recommendation for filling under floors. (h) A detailed site plan showing the outline of the proposed building and approx. Location each borehole duly numbered as per log of borehole should be enclosed. Location of foundation of adjacent structures, especially those that might be impacted by the proposed construction should be indicated with details site plan. Notes :- (i) Every page of the soil investigation report should have the name of the job for which soil investigation is being carried out. (ii) All pages of soil investigation shall be serially numbered, stamped and signed by agency carrying out the soil investigation. Valid NABL accreditation certificate issued to the agency shall form part of the report. Report should be scrutinized by GE & CWE for correctness & endorsed. (iii) Two copies of ink signed test reports should be submitted with details description of field investigation carried out (iii) Report shall be vetted by Govt Engineering college/NIT/IIT.
