Painting, Re-painting and Re-polishing Work in the International Management Development Centre (IMDC), Dormitories (Hostels), Married Students Hostels, and Academic Block at the New Campus of IIM Ahmedabad

Re-painting of walls & ceiling: a) Repainting walls of IIM Ahmedabad new campus buildings. b) Cleaning of the existing painted surface by using suitable sand paper so that to make entire area sufficient rough to get new painting course. It includes removing loose surface, stickers and such other markings & stains observed on walls if any and repairing it by wall putty or suitable material. Materials or solutions required to remove such painting, stickers will be inlcuded in this work. Prepared surface to be get verified by Engineer In-charge (EIC) and recorded in separate sheet before going for first coat painting. c) Filling cracks using crack filler and holes/dents using white cement based wall putty. d) External walls & washroom / pantry walls to be painted with Exterior paint. e) Providing & applying three or more coats upto the satisfaction of EIC of Premium Emulsion paint on prepared surface. First coat by using brush and remaining two coats by roller to get even shade as approved by engineer in charge. (Actual area will be measured & paid) On final coat, painted wall should look uniform. f) It includes covering the floor with plastic paper, cleaning the floor and switch plates. g) No extra payment shall be made, if the painted surface is not uniform and extra coats to be done over the third coat.

New painting to wall & Ceiling: a) Scrapping of the existing painting surface using sand paper to the maximum. b) Providing and applying two coats of white cement based wall putty with two coats of wall primer to complete satisfaction of the Engineer. c) The rates shall be inclusive of surface preparation; filling cracks using crack filler. Filling holes / dents using wall putty. d) Providing and applying two coats of Premium Emulsion Paint (refer material specification for approved make), cleaning the floor, doors, windows and switch boards etc. complete as directed.

Tel pani polish & enamel work: Doors, windows & louvers with wooden & metal frame a) The wood work shall be cleaned of grease and dirt by rubbing fine sand paper from all sides and providing and applying tel pani polish three coats of safola or CAT linseed oil on existing doors and windows. b) Removal of rust with sand paper and applying two coats of Enamel paint ( Asian or Eqv.) of approved shade on existing metal frame of wooden door & window with glass panels & complete in all respect. c) Internal surfaces of louvers, door & window frames all to be painted. No extra will be provided for that portion. For measurement, elevation area will be considered. Area of glass, laminate and mosquite net will be deducted at actual from whole pannel area. Lacquer Polish: The wood work shall be cleaned of grease and dirt by rubbing fine sand paper and providing and applying two coats of Lacquer polish ( Taralac or eqv.). It also includes matching with suitable colour if required in case of dull looking furnitures / surfaces to look similar with existing as instructed by EIC. It includes all miscellaneous tools and tackels. Area of glass & mosquito net will be deducted at actual. Note : Photos of relevant items are attached in NIT.

Enamel Paint: Providing & applying two coats of enamel paint to balcony, passage, terrace railing / AC duct jali of approved shade and make (Asian or equivalent) with removal of rust completely by sand paper or suitable tools and apply one coat of yellow zinc chromate primer on entire metal / wooden portion and followed by coating of enamel paint. It includes covering the floor & cleaning the area complete as directed. Rate shall be inclusive of providing, erecting, and dismantling of form work (H-frame) upto single floor height as and when required. Note : Photos of relevant items are attached in NIT.

Balcony, passage, D-28 to 35 stair railing, terrace railing / AC duct jali- Both side front area will be considered for measurement purpose for railing with perforated sheet & AC duct jali. One side front area will be considered for measurement purpose for terrace railing, passage railing, staircase railing in D-28 to D-35, irrespective of its size & number of members.

Repainting and Repolishing Work of Academic Block Doors, Windows & Furniture

Providing and fixing H-frame scaffolding a) Providing and fixing scaffolding / H-frame on the exterior side, for double height work only with 40mm dia. M.S. tube. b) The scaffolding system shall be stiffened with bracings, runners, connection with the building etc. wherever required for inspection of work at required locations with essential safety features (Fall arrester, safety belt, helmet, safety shoes, safety jacket) for the workmen etc. complete as per directions and approval of Engineer In-charge. c) The elevation area of the scaffolding shall be measured for payment purpose. The payment will be made once irrespective of duration of scaffolding at any location. Only one time will be paid for same location. d) Safety board designating "Work is in Progress" around scaffolding system to be installed. Safety barricades & tapes to be placed aroud the area of work.
