Excavation in trenches not exceeding 1.5 m wide and not exeeding 1.5 m in depth and getting out in soft/loose soil for removing/laying of cable etc as directed by Engineer-In-Charge.

Returning, filling excavated soil in trenches including spreading, levelling, watering and well ramming in layers not exceeding 25 cm thick each all as directed by Engineer-In-Charge.

Removing surplus excavated soil to a distance not exc 50 m and depositing where directed at a level n.exc 1.5 m above the starting point.

M&L for earthing complete with copper earth plate electrode size 900 x 600 x 5.00 mm thick buried directly in ground vertically in a pit of depth not less than 3.30 mtr below ground level connected to copper strip 32 x 6 mm as earth lead by brass nuts and bolts washer including brazing the copper strip with copper plate as shown in elecrical plate no 03 connected to earth test point including necessary excavation in any type of soil, filling charcoal and salt around the plate in layers, filling the pit with agriculture soil free from stones, to bring from outside defence land, and to be mixed with and including bentonite - 03 bags of 25 Kg each for each pit, construction of PCC earth pit chamber, RCC chamber cover plate, wiremesh, funnel, test point, 40 mm dia GI protection pipe light grade and 32 mm GI medium perforated pipe for watering etc complete and testing on completion. The Plate and strip shall be of copper as per IEC 62561-2, composition all as specified and directed.

Note:- (a) Fresh agriculture soil will be used for filling the dug as required to achieve the desired resistance from out side. (b) Contractor has to provide bentonite - 03 Bags ( each bag of 25 Kg) to mix with fresh agriculture soil in each earth pit to achieve desired resistance value of less than 01 Ohms (c) Copper strip to be laid below 100mm ground level and connectd to test point through plinth protection. (d) Necessary cost of repair to plith protection and connected plate and earth continuity conductor through double nuts bolts and blazing of joints, agriculture soil to be brought from outside deemed to be included in item rate (e) Copper strip upto 7.5 Mtr will be included in item rate. (f) Contractor to clear the site and dispose off the excavated materilals from site as directed (g) On testing after completion if the earth resistance of less than 01 Ohms if not obtainded, earthing will rejuvenated at no extra cost till the desired earth resistance is obtained.
