Soil investigation in respect of provn of married accomodation for DSC platoons at Mangalore

Soil investigation and recommendation of foundation including the following steps/specification of work. (for a job of 1 borehole) Mobilization & demobilization of workers and equipment at site. (i) Drilling of test borehole of 150mm dia by shell and auger with MS casing as per IS 1892-1979 (Reaffirmed 2016). The depth of borehole shall be done in soil strata upto the depth of 15 m or if rock is encounted before that depth, it should be penetrated into the rock to a depth of minimum 3 m and collecting disturbed and undisturbed soil samples (where ever possible) and observation of ground water table. (ii) Carrying out standard penetration test as per IS 2131-1981 (Reaffirmed 2002). The SPT is required to be taken at every 0.5 mtr interval upto 2.5 mtr from GL and 1 mtr interval onwards and every change of strata. The test may be terminated earlier if 'N' value reaches 50 of every change of strata .The test may be terminated earlier if 'N' value reaches 50. (iii) Bore log data and details of soil profile showing stratification of soil at various depths and level of water table shall be furnished. (iv) RL of ground level/ founding level with reference to BM should be mentioned in report Laboratory Investigation: Collection of disturbed/undisturbed sample as per IS-2132,1986 and carrying out laboratory test for the following :- (a) Type of soil and its gradation, (b) Consistency limit (c') Natural water content, (d) Shear Test A) In order to determine the above properties the following test be conducted:- (a) Sieve analysis on the coarse grained soil fraction (b) Hydrometer analysis on the fine grained soil fraction (c') Liquid and plastic limits (d) Natural density and water content test, (e') Shear tests (f) Free swell index, (g) Specific gravity test, (h) Consolidation characteristics, (j) Mapping of soil profile etc.

(B) The result of the held investigation conducted in the bore holes and the laboratory investigations conducted on the soil sample collected from the bore holes be presented in the form of soil profile tables. For designing the foundation system of the proposed structures, the following data are require:- a) Type of foundation system (b) Depth below the ground level at which the foundation system be laid (c') Allowable bearing pressure The result from these investigation and test has to be analyzed and to provide the required recommendation of the design of foundation such as depth of the foundation and type of foundation and type of foundation with all the photographic record of soil exploration .Also recommendation on possibility of liquefaction of soil .Report & Drawing shall be submitted in four copies to the GE for approval.

Excavation for trial pit (1.2m x 1.2m x 1.5m) to ascertain soil strata of the area & submit the detail report of existing strata with drawings. Note: Report & Drawing shall be submitted in four copies to the GE for approval. Payment shall be disbursed after approval of report & design
