Excavation in earth work in in hilly area all height and depths and in all kinds of soils including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil oridinary rock and hard rock. All works road rock cutting by blasting shall be carried out by taking all necessary precutions against soil erosion damage to hill side water pollution etc, and to protect stability of hill side.Rock shall be excavated with chieseling and wedging out rock( where blasting is prohibited).All earth work in cutting/ excavation, including rock excavation shall be carried out true to lines grades sides slopes,width, camber,super elevation and level as shown on the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge in confirmity with the requirement of technical specification for Rural road August 2004 and clause 16.2 of general conditions for contract to achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of materials useful for construction at suitable sites and safe disposal of unserviceable cut material and specificed manner,including arrangement of dumping site trimming,filling of unvenness blindage and finishing of the road to specified diamensions including disposal of surplus materials with all leads, and lifts at the locatuion specified in the tender document or as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge for smooth riding.The recovery for stones where useful or not i.e. 193.28(One hundred ninety three point Two eight)cubic metre @ 170/- (Rs. one hundred Seventy)only per cubic metre shall be effected on pro-rata basis.Any loss to the public and private property during the course of excavation shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor,which shall have to be duly compensated by him at his on cost in all cases including haulaging/ carriage of all labours, equipments and materials to various locations through all mode of transportations in all leads, lifts to the entire satisfaction and direction of the Engineer- in - Charge.

Excatation in soil in hilly area in all depths using manual means as per drawing and technical specification ministry of Rural Development for rural roads August 2004 (Two thousands four) clause 305.1 (three hundred five point one) including setting out, coustruction of shoring and bracing, removal of stumps and other deleterious materials including dressing of sides and bottom and back filling in trenches with excavated suitable materials and stacking of materials useful for construction at suitable sites and safe dispoal of unsuitable cut materials by all modes of transportations in all leads and lifts at specified places in specified manner, systematically with level consideration to avoiding adverse effects on environment, trimming filling of unevenness blind age and finishing of the road to specified dimension or as directed by the Engineer-in-charge. any loss to the public or private property during the course of excavation shall be the whole responsibility of the contractor which shall have to be duly compensated by him at his own cost in all cases.

If the foundation of the structure is in an area with stagnant water or water is met with in the excavation due to spring seepage rain and other causes it shall be removed by suitable diversion bailing out or pumping as directed and the area of the foundation or embankment shall be kept dry any loss to the public or private property during the course of excavation shall be the whole responsibility of the contractor which shall have to be duly compensated by him at his own cost in all cases.
