SPECIAL REPAIR TO ROAD AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS AT 3 AFSB UNDER GE AF CHILODA

Scarifying or picking gravel, macadam or bituminous macadam surfaces Nexc 50mm deep & in area n exc 400 sqm and disposal of scarified material at a place ad directed by Eng-in-Charge.

M&L for preparing existing water bound macadam surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc. Sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface with gunny bags to remove all loose dirt etc complete all as specified and directed

M&L for applying evenly a priming/tack coat with bituminous primer using paving bitumen (VG 10) @ 10 Kg/Ten Sqm complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for providing, laying, spreading premix bituminous macadam with crushed and graded stone aggregate mixed together with 4% of paving bitumen of grade VG-30 by weight of total mix including heating bitumen to the required temperature, mixing bituminous macadam in automatic and temperature controlled hot mixing with electronic operated 100-120 TPH batch type hot mix plant, transporting the hot mix from HMP to work at site by tippers and laying, spreading uniformaly by means of hydrostatic paver finisher and rolling and consolidating to the required gradient and camber (consolidated thickness 75 mm or less with 8 to 12 tonne smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem power roller, complete all as per Clause 507 MORTH (5th Rev) specification all as specified and as directed. Note : (i) The contractor shall quote the rate against item considering 4% VG-30 bitumen content. Job Mix Formula as per Clause No 505.3.3 of MORTH (5th Rev) for BM shall be obtained CRRI / IIT, SEMT wing CME Pune or NIT or Govt Engineering College for obtaining Optimum Binder Content (OBC) by the contractor without any financial effect to the Department and same shall be submitted to the Accepting Officer for approval. Any variation in binder content on Minus side shall be adjusted @ 50/Kg of binder and no adjustment shall be made on Plus side. (ii) The bituminous macadam (BM) shall be covered with top layer/wearing course within a maximum of 48 hours. If there is to be any delay by the contractor the course shall be covered by seal coat to the requirement of Clause 512 of MORTH (5th Rev) before opening to the traffic. The seal coat in such cases shall be considered incidental to the work and shall not be paid for separately. (iii) Job mix formula shall be approved by Accepting Officer.

Repairs to pot holes of any depth, not exceeding 01 Sqm each including Sweeping free from dust and mud or water, scoring sunken surfaces in road, paths etc cutting around edges, making good by applying tack coat @5 Kg/ 10 Sqm, putting in premixed bitumenous macadam with min. 5.5% binder content,(VG-30) , well rammed and sealed with binder @9.8 kg per 10 sqm, blinded with 0.09 cum of stone chippings, 6.3 mm size and again well rammed (including supply of premixed macadam, binder and chippings) depth of potholes exc 25 mm Note :- Job mix formula of premix bituminous macadam shall be approved by Accepting Officer.

Preparation of black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc, sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces with air compressor through air jet to remove all loose dirt etc. complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for applying evenly a tack coat using Paving bitumen VG 10 @5 Kg/Ten Sqm on road surfaces by sprayer, operated on hot pressure mechanism complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for laying, spreading 30mm thick (consolidated thickness) of Premix Bituminous semi dense asphaltic concrete as per design based on Job mix formula with 5.5% bitumen binder content (bitumen of Grade VG-30) by weight of total mix including heating bitumen to the required temperature, mixing bituminous concrete in automatic and temperature controlled hot mixing with electronic operated 100-120 TPH batch type hot mix plant, transporting the hot mix from HMP to work at site by tippers and laying, spreading uniformly by means of hydrostatic paver finisher and rolling and consolidating to the required gradient and camber with 8 to 12 tonne smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem power roller, complete all as per Clause 507 MORTH (5th Rev) specification and all as specified and as directed. Note for item No 8 : (i) Paving bitumen of Grade VG-30 for SDAC shall be used and procured by the contractor under his own arrangement and at his own cost. (ii) Cost of all the materials, T&P labour etc. required for providing and laying bituminous concrete (SDAC) including procurement of bitumen as specified here-in-before, stone aggregates & sand, cement etc., rolling and all other elements required for entire completion of the job shall be deemed to be included in the unit rate quoted for this item. (iii) Computerized print out of data of bituminous concrete in automatic and temperature controlled hot mixing plant shall be provided to the GE by contractor.

M&L for preparing bituminous surfaces of road and applying 2.5mm thick (as per IRC pattern) centre lines, stop lines, dashes, arrows etc. and the like upto 15 cm wide or over on roads pavements with hot applied thermoplastic road marking paint of approved quality and colour White/Golden/Yellow as approved by Eng-in-Charge, confirming to BS 3262-1989 with special applicator machine all as per manufacturer's instructions complete all as specified and directed. Note : The rate included for provision of red signals to keep traffic away from wet paint , cleaning road surfaces and working during odd hours when traffic is light complete all as specified and directed.
