| 4.00Notes for Item No. 1.00 to 3.00 : (a) The bidder shall note that the RCC overhead water tank proposed for demolition is situated in very close proximity to a functioning office building, compound wall and a public civil road outside the premises, the demolition work shall be executed under supervision of experienced Civil Engineer. The contractor shall be deemed to have visited the site and fully acquainted himself with the site conditions and constraints before quoting the rates. (b) The quoted rates shall be deemed to be inclusive of all Fees/Salary of Experienced Civil Engineer, wages of labour, rent charges of tools, plant, machinery, equipment, safety arrangements, protective measures and all incidental charges required for carrying out the demolition work safely and efficiently without causing any damage to the adjacent office building, compound wall, road, existing services, structures and installations. (c) The contractor shall ensure that the demolition work is executed in a controlled manner and in such a way that no damage is caused to the nearby buildings, compound wall, roads, services or any other existing structures. Adequate precautions shall be taken to prevent falling of debris, excessive vibration, dust nuisance or any other impact that may affect the surrounding structures or environment. (d) The contractor shall make adequate arrangements for barricading, protective covering, warning signage and other necessary safety measures to ensure the safety of all personnel working in the area and also to prevent any hazard or inconvenience to the occupants of the nearby office building and the public moving on the adjoining civil road. (e) Considering that the adjacent office building is under regular functioning and there is movement of public on the adjoining road, the demolition work may be required to be carried out during non-working hours, night hours or late night hours as directed by the GE/Engineer-in-Charge. No extra payment shall be admissible on this account and the quoted rates shall be deemed to include the same. | ||||||||||||||
| 5.00Notes for Item No. 1.00 to 3.00 (contd--): (f) The contractor shall adopt suitable and approved demolition techniques, equipment and technology to ensure controlled demolition with minimal vibration and without causing any damage to adjacent buildings, compound wall, roads or existing services. (g) Prior to commencement of the work, the contractor shall submit a detailed demolition methodology indicating the proposed technique/technology, sequence of demolition, safety measures, protective arrangements and debris handling procedure to ensure that no damage occurs to adjacent structures, compound wall, road or to any person in the vicinity. The work shall not be commenced without obtaining prior approval of the GE/Engineer-in-Charge for the proposed methodology. (h) Any damage caused to the existing buildings, compound wall, roads, services or any other property due to negligence, improper planning or execution of the work shall be made good by the contractor at his own cost to the complete satisfaction of the GE/Engineer-in-Charge. (j) The contractor shall be solely and wholly responsible for the safety of his labour, staff and any other persons engaged by him for the execution of the work. In the event of any accident, fatal or otherwise, injury to persons, loss of life, or damage to property occurring during the course of execution of the work, the entire responsibility and liability shall rest with the contractor. All compensation, claims, damages, legal liabilities and settlements payable to the injured persons, workers or their families shall be borne entirely by the contractor and nothing whatsoever shall be payable by the Department on this account. (k) In case the contractor fails to settle or compensate such claims, the Department shall have the right to recover the amount from any money due or becoming due to the contractor under this contract or any other contract and settle the claims as deemed fit, including as per the orders of the competent court of law, and the decision of the Department in this regard shall be final and binding. | ||||||||||||||
