DPR phase-I for development of project Timber Pond

Safety/ structural audit of all berths/ wharfs and suggest economical ways of strengthening them, wherever required (approx. Length – 1500 Mtrs)

Examine/ undertake safety audit of existing bollards on jetties and suggest augmentation, as required

Structural audit of all 18 numbers major buildings/ workshops/ warehouses, including extent of repairs required.

Assessment of Ground Bearing Capacity (GBC) at Western side of Boat Basin jetty for suitability of docking of IBs on cradle placed on hard stand ensuring enough strength to take load of IB, cradle and crane. Placement of cradle for hoisting IBs and design proposal for a hard standing also to be submitted.

Existing utilities / services viz. fresh water, electricity, sewage, fire main, telecommunication etc. to be assessed and suitable refurbishment/ augmentation to be suggested. Option of having independent electricity from TANGEDCO/ nearby 33 KV substation located at South of Timber Pond (through suitable stepdown arrangements) also to be explored. Currently, the fresh water supply is through ChPT reservoirs located South of Timber Pond.

Consultant to suggest an alternate/emergency power source for the project. Parameters such as total load requirement (Capacity of emergency DA) for providing supply to main slipway winch, fire pumps, ships docked and under refit, Admin Block and other offices housed in the premises may be worked out and incorporated therein.

Consultant to suggest docking of bigger ICG vessel viz. OPVs/PRVs preferably by means of Ship lift system which could be developed during next decade as part of Phase-II development plan at Timber Pond. Hence, the DPR to suggest possible option, suitable location etc. without going much into a detailed design.

Mitchel Pier, Eastern and Western side jetties to be provided with fixed fenders (Approx. jetty length: 1500 Mtrs) to absorb the kinetic thrust of vessels berthing against jetty, quay or another vessel; in order to prevent any damage to boats, vessels and berthing structures. The consultant to suggest suitable fendering options and their locations.

Provision of periphery chain link fencing. Scope of consultant is to suggest augmentation and detailed layout for most suitable security arrangements of the ICG assets.

About 50% of the central workshop building (P-8) with total area of 3200 Sqm is proposed to be converted into about 10 work bays/ modules for undertaking repairs and maintenance/ overhauling of equipment/ machinery. Consultant to provide a detailed design layout, including provision of compressed air, electricity, ventilation etc.

Consultant to suggest layout and arrangement for warehousing storage, inventory handling facilities, arrangement for Fire Fighting system and energy efficient buildings, workshops etc.
