NOTES/INSTRUCTIONS FOR STRICT COMPLIANCE (a) The contractor shall obtain sample approval for all materials for incorporating in the work as per condition 10 of IAFW-2249 and Para-12 of Special Conditions of tender document mentioned here-in-after. (b) The GE may direct the contractor in writing to procure and deposit up to 80% of the material required for the complete scope of work. The decision shall be final and binding on the contractor. (c) The contractor shall deposit the procured material under intimation to GE to the store of concerned subdivision within 30 days from the receipt of written direction. Failure to do so shall result in a penal recovery of Rs 2000/- per week, levied on the dues of contractor, maximum up to 10% of the work done/CA Amount whichever is higher. (d)The contractor shall obtain approval of “Qualified Tradesman” as per condition 26 of IAFW-2249 before commencement of work at site and shall have sufficient manpower such as plumber, welder, helper etc readily avialble to meet the site requirement during emergency situation as per directions of Engineer-in-Charge/GE.

NOTES(Contd---) (e)The breakdown/Leakeges should be attended well within time mentioned here-in-after from the time of intimation (through Verbal/Site Order/Written) by the Engineer-in-Charge/GE, failing which a penal recovery of Rs 500/- per hour shall be deducted from contractors dues: Size of Pipe Time limit to attend Breakdown & Completion Upto 50mm 6 Hrs 50mm-100mm 8 Hrs More than 100mm 12 Hrs (f) The quoted rates shall be inclusive of cost of necessary Tools, Plants, Safety Equipments, Machinery, Arrangements of Manual Dewatering/Dewatering pumps and Temporary lighting arrangements for work during night time etc as per site requirement. Labour only for attending breakdowns / leakage complaints of underground pipe lines of any type and description such as DI / CI / MS of size 200mm to 300mm bore dia by cleaning the pipe line surfaces, identifying the leakage / breakdown of pipe line, removing the damaged portion of pipe line from trenches by gas cutting / manual cutting as per site requirement, replacing with new pipe line / fittings / accessories by fixing / welding / threading as per site requirement and testing after completion for leak proof working complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note: Excavation, earth work, PCC, Pipes, fittings, accessories etc as required at site shall be measured and paid separately as "Supply Only" under relevant items of BOQ. However, the Quoted rate shall be inclusive of the following provisions:- (i) Breakdown / leakages should be attended and completed within 24 hours from the time of intimation to contractor by JE E/M / Engineer-in-Charge, failing which, penal recovery of Rs. 500 per hour shall be deducted from contractor dues. Material and labour constructing valve chamber of internal dimensions 1mtr x1mtr x1.2 mtrs with 100 mm thick PCC (1:4:8 ) type D-2 for foundation, brick walls built in cement mortar (1:4 ), PCC 1:2:4 type B1 for coping , rendering in cement mortar 1:4 , 15 mm thick internally and on exposed surfaces externally up to 15 cm above GL. Bottom PCC floor of the pit should be minimum 30 cms below the bottom surface of sluice valve flange to provide sufficient working space. The sluice valve and other fittings should be housed in center of the pit, the vertices of the pit should be in right angle and champhered .The top cover of the pit will be made out of 3mm MS sheet with angle iron frame made out of MS angle 50mm x 50 mm x 6 mm with MS hinges two Nos, and locking arrangements duly painted with two coats of water resistant synthetic enameled paint over one coat of red oxide primer, including demolition and taking out of existing broken valve chamber of any description complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Material and labour for brick masonry with sub class B bricks, straight or curved on plan exc 6m mean radius in cement mortar 1:6 complete all as specified by Engineer-in-Charge.

Material and labour for rendering 10mm thick cement plaster 1:6 on fair faces of brick work or concrete surfaces finished even and smooth (with out using extra cement) complete all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Dismantling or removing of centrifugal coupled / monoblock electric pump set of any make and model, of capacity 75 HP to 100 HP from its installed position by disconnecting suction and delivery lines, fixing dummy plate to both suction & delivery pipe, disconnecting electrical cables, earth strips and dismounting the pump and motor from base channel for overhauling / repair / rewinding of motor etc and reinstalling back in its original position, checking alignment and testing on completion for satisfactory performance complete all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note: Overhauling, re-winding and spare parts required for repair shall be measured and paid separately under relevant items of BOQ.

Contractor should arrange the technician within 02 hours of intimation of complaint by JE E/M / Engineer-in-Charge and the complaint should be rectified as soon as possible but not later than 08 hours from the time of intimation. If contractor fails to arrange the technician and rectify the complaint within the specified time, a penal recovery of Rs. 500 per hour of delay beyond the specified time limit will be made from contractor's dues.
