AR MO Civil Works during 2020-21 at Calicut International Airport. SH- Annual contract for comprehensive vegetation growth management and control in Operational Area during 2020-21 (Re-Tender)

Clearing all kind of vegetation growth, bushes, shrubs, thorns, bamboo growths and all other kind of jungle, trees upto 30 cm girth (measured at a height of one metre above ground level) etc. in the area between sloppy embankment and compound wall in operational area of Calicut Airport. All vegetation shall be cut at ground level using mechanical equipment brush cutter and/or chainsaw cutter etc., like petrol operated Honda brush cutter UMK450T and/or equivalent and Heavy duty petrol operated Chainsaw Kisankraft KK-CSP-8650 or equivalent as the case may be, by deploying trained operators. Wherever the machine can’t be used, manual methods of cutting with axe, billhook, pruning saw etc. to be adopted. The item includes removal, carriage and disposal of the cut vegetation in the low lying areas within the Operational area premises with all leads and lifts etc. complete as per the direction of Engineer-in-charge. (The rate is inclusive of hire charges of petrol operated Honda brush cutter UMK450T and Heavy duty petrol operated Chainsaw Kisankraft KK-CSP-8650 or any other cutting machine/equipment, cost of labour, fuel and cost of collecting, bundling, transporting and disposal of cut vegetation to the location intimated by AAI.)

Cutting and/or uprooting and removal of creepers from ground including removal of wet/dry creepers from Concertina coil fixed over compound wall/ flatwrap welded diamond mesh fencing/concertina fencing erected at ground level etc. without causing any damage to fencing, from inside as well as outside operational area as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Pruning, trimming, shaping of trees/thorny bushes (height 3 meters and above) protruding/ leaning on/ over/ across the concertina coil and/ or the security perimeter compound wall from inside and outside including removal, transportation and disposal of cut vegetation in the low lying areas within the operational area with all leads and lifts etc. complete as per the direction of Engineer-in-charge. The rate includes cost of all machineries/ safety equipment; materials etc. and nothing extra will be paid in this regard.

Uprooting rank vegetation and weeds by digging the area to a depth of 60cm, removing all weeds and other growth with roots by forking repeatedly, Surface dressing of the ground by manual or mechanical means including removing vegetation and in-equalities, removing stones potruding from ground surface to obtain a smooth finished surface, stacking and disposing the stones obtained and disposal of rubbish, lead up to 1 km and lift up to 1.5m. All kinds of soil.

Chemical control of vegetation growth around flatwrap welded diamond mesh fencing/ concertina coil laid on ground as fence etc. provided at various locations inside operational area and along the side of compound wall inside the operational area by spraying post-emergent herbicide like 2, 4, D (Fernoxone) or Glyphosate mixed with water at the proportion recommended by agricultural university/manufacturer using knapsack sprayer. The chemical should be sprayed at required width on both sides of fencing /compound wall to stop growth of vegetation on to the fencing and to make it visible. All necessary precautions must be taken while spraying the chemical as per the instructions of chemical manufacturer including first aid kits. Dosing of chemical should be as per the environmental norms recommended by the manufacturer. The rate shall include supplying and applying the post-emergent herbicide chemical approved by Engineer- in- charge as per the manufacturer’s specifications and direction of Engineer-in-charge.
