1 FOR FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT Dismantling of existing bituminous layer on road by cold milling machine in 150mm thickness in 1.50 mtr. width from Km. 1.00 to 3.500 and planning the surface after cold milling, transportation to the hot mix plant site, hauling, stock pilling the reclaimed material near the central recycling plant after carrying out necessary checks and evaluation, adding fresh material including rejuvenators as required, mixing in batch type hot mix plant, transporting and laying at site and compacting to the required grade, level and thickness, all as specified in clause No. 519 of MORT&H-2013 . Note:- The quantity of reclaimed material shall be considered minimum 80% of the theoretical volume, The reclaimed material shall be use 30% of total qty of DBM as per clause no 519 of MORT&H specification.
Dismantling of Granular material of 480mm thick in Km. 1.000 to KM 3.500 in 0.500 mtr. width and stacking of old serviceable material, complete in all respect as per clause No.202 of MORT&H specification-2013 and The quantity of material shall be considered minimum 80% of the theoretical volume. The material shall be property of the contractor & shall be issued as per issued rate as given in recovery items.
Earth work by excavation for wdg. of road in KM 1.00 to KM 2.400 in R.H.S. full width and 500mm wide in KM 1.00 to KM 3.500 in all kinds of soil by mechanical means including cutting and pushing the earth to site of embankment and berms with all lead and lifts including trimming bottom and side slopes in accordance with requirements of lines, grades and cross sections complete in all respect as per x-section attached with DNIT as per clause No. 301 of MORT&H specification -2013. Dispose off surplus recovered widening of road with all lead and lift. This activity of disposal of surplus earth shall be incidental to work and no extra payment made in this regard.
Construction of embankment and sub-grade of 500mm thick in widening portion from Km. 1.000 to 3.500 with soil minimum CBR of 8% obtained from borrow area with all lifts and leads, transporting to site, spreading , grading to required slope and compacted to meet requirement of table-300-2 (Compaction of soil is minimum 97% and the maximum laboratory dry unit weight when tested as per IS-2720 Part-8 as per table 300-1 of the soil shall not be less than 1.52 gram /cc ) complete in all respect as per X-section attached with DNIT, as per clause No. 305 of MORT&H specification-2013. The finished road surface will be as per X-section attached/ approved by Engineer. Quantity of earth work calculated with NSL and finished level found to be less than 36291.18 cum. Then actual quantity (less than 36291.18 cum) will be paid. In case quantity worked out is more than 36291.18 cum,. Then only 36291.18 cum will be paid. Excess quantity shall be incidental to work and nothing extra will be paid. No earth work will be allowed from PWD land. Before start of work, the contractor will prepare the L-section and X-section of the project highway and get it approved from engineer with respect to GTS bench mark. This work shall be incidental to work and nothing extra will be paid.
Providing and laying 200mm thick compacted granular sub base (GSB) consisting as filter/separation layer (Lower Layer) confirming to table 400.1 grading-III & Upper Layer) confirming to table 400.1 grading –VI of MORT&H 5th revision - 2013 mixing in a mechanical mix plant at OMC, carriage of mixed material to the site of work, spreading in uniform layer with motor grader on prepared surface and compacting with vibratory power roller to achieve desired density complete as per clause No. 401 of MORT&H specification. Note:- (i) Only crushed stone material should be used, no local sand / tibba sand shall be used. The material finer than 425 micron shall have zero Plasticity Index (PI). (ii) Material to be used and operation of manufacturing shall be approved by engineer in writing.
Providing, laying, spreading and compacting graded stone aggregate to 250 mm thick Wet Mix Macadam (WMM) in three layers (75 + 75 + 100) respectively specification including premixing the Material with water at OMC in mechanical mix plant carriage of mixed Material by tipper to site, laying in uniform layers with paver in sub-base/base course on well prepared surface and compacting with vibratory roller to achieve the desired density as per clause No. 406 of MoRT&H specification -2013 as per drawings and design complete in all respects. Note :- (i) Only crushed stone material should be used no local sand / tibba sand shall be used. The material finer than 425 micron shall have zero Plasticity Index (PI). (ii) Material to be used and operation of manufacturing shall be approved by engineer in writing.
Providing and laying Primer coat over WMM surface with bitumen emulsion SS-I Grade using 6kg/10 Sqm. area. The construction operation shall conform to as per clause no. 502 of MORT&H specification - 2013 including cost of bitumen emulsion, complete in all respects. Instructions issued by MORT&H from time to time regarding bitumen emulsion will be followed strictly.
Providing and laying bituminous tack coat of bitumen VG-10 grade using 2 kg. per 10 sqm area on WMM surface complete in all respects including cost of bitumen VG-10 as per clause No. 503 of MORT&H specification for road and bridge works (5th revision) of 2013/latest edition Instructions issued by MORT&H from time to time regarding bitumen will be followed strictly.
Providing and laying 75 mm Dense Graded Bituminous Macadam(DBM) in one layers with the use of reclaimed excavated material from cold milling of existing bituminous layers to the extent up to 30 percent (30%) of the required quantity after carrying out necessary checks and evaluation, adding fresh coarse/ fine aggregates and bitumen of VG-30 grade to have overall minimum 4.50% bitumen content and including rejuvenators as required, mixing in a batch type hot mix plant with appropriate arrangement for use of RAP, transporting the hot mix to work site, laying with a hydrostatic paver finisher having sufficient screed width so that the DBM in full width of the carriage way is laid in single opration without any longititutinal joint to with sensor control to the required grade, level and alignment, rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and with pneumatic tyred roller (PTR) of 12 to 15 tonne weight with a tyre pressure of at least 0.56 MPa and tandem rollers to achieve the desired compaction as specified in clause 519 of MORT&H specification 5th revision-2013. If bitumen required is more than 4.50% as per job mix formula no extra payment will be made, extra bitumen required will be considered as incidental to work. . NOTE :- Job mix formula shall be approved by Employer in writing before start of work. Thickness of DBM laid over the existing Black Top surface is to be adjusted in such a manner that a camber of 2.5% is achieved. Any extra quantity over and above the quantity provided in the DNIT, required to achieve 2.5% camber shall be incidental to work. The anti-stripping agent should conform to the requirement as stipulated in IS 14982:2017. The cost so incurred will be considered as incidental to work and noting extra shall be payable. The type and brand of anti-stripping agent along with procedure shall be approved by SE-in-Charge in writing before start of work. A proper record of results be maintained and same shall be submitted along with bills by the contractor. Before laying of DBM on existing road surface, any existing pot holes and cracks shall be repaired and sealed in accordance with clause No. 3004.2 and 3004.3. Proper measurement and consumption shall be entered in M.B. but no payment on this account shall be made, these are incidental to work.

The use of self propelled mechanical paver finisher with electronic sensor device conforming to MORT&H specification in mandatory. If bitumen required more than 4.50% as per job mix formula no extra payment will be made, extra bitumen required will be considered as incidental to work. Thickness of DBM laid over the existing Black Top surface is to be adjusted in such a manner that a camber of 2.5% is achieved. Any extra quantity over and above the quantity provided in the DNIT, required to achieve 2.5% camber shall be incidental to work. Providing and laying 40 mm compacted thickness of Bituminous Concrete (BC) in one layer with 80-100 THP Batch Type Hot Mix Plant with bituminous binder VG-40 @ 5.4% (minimum) and filler, transporting the hot mix to work site, laying with a hydrostatic paver finisher having sufficient screed width so that the BC in full width of the carriage way is laid in single operation without any longititutinal joint with sensor control to the required grade, level and alignment, rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and with pneumatic tyred roller (PTR) of 12 to 15 tonne weight with a tyre pressure of at least 0.56 MPa and tandem rollers to achieve the desired compaction as per MORT&H specification (Vth revision)-2013 Clause No. 507 complete in all respect. If bitumen required is more than 5.4% as per job mix formula, no extra payment will be made, Extra bitumen required will be considered as incidental to work. Any extra quantity over and above the quantity provided in the DNIT, required to achieve 2.5% camber shall be incidental to work. NOTE:- Job mix formula shall be approved by Employer in writing before start of work. The anti-stripping agent should conform to the requirement as stipulated in IS 14982:2017. The cost so incurred will be considered as incidental to work and noting extra shall be payable. The type and brand of anti-stripping agent along with procedure shall be approved by SE-in-Charge in writing before start of work. A proper record of results be maintained and same shall be submitted along with bills by the contractor.

The thermoplastic material shall be sampled and tested in accordance with appropriate ASTM/BS method. The contractor shall furnish to the Engineer-in-Charge a copy of certified test reports from the manufacturer of the thermoplastic material meet all requirement of the specifications. The reflectorzing glass beads shall meet the requirement of clause 803.4.2 and test methods mentioned in clause 803.4.2.4 shall be meticulously followed. The minimum thickness specified is exclusive of surface of glass beads. the method of thickness measurement shall be in accordance with appendix B and C of BS:3262 (part-3). Note:- Before start of work the contractor shall give brand , batch no. , manufacturing date of the material to be used.

Recovery items: The rates quoted against recovery items will not be included in the total amount rather it will be deducted while calculating financial statement of the agency. Material obtained from dismantling / scarifying of existing bituminous crust, granular material and dismantling of culverts / drain etc. have been calculated taking assumption that 80% of theoretical material will be retrieved. The dismantled / scarified material can be issued for use in any of the item for the work after modification (bringing it to required specifications) on approval from the employer. In case it is not possible to use this material on the work, the agency can take away this material. The material can be taken away by the agency at the price quoted by the agency. Note: All quantities of the above materials have been worked out on the basis of theoretical quantities laid on this road. However, agency may visit site of before quoting rates and assess the extent of retrieve material. There shall be no measurement after actual scarifying and if material after scarifying is found on lesser side, no claim of agency on this score will be entertained and full recovery on the basis of quoted rate and quantity exhibited in the BOQ shall be made. The reserve rates are minimum rates to be used as base for quoting purchase rate by the agency. No rate below the reserve price will be entertained and reserved price will be considered for all purposes in case agency quoted less than the reserve price. Note:- In case of any difference in the unit & nomenclature of any of the HSR items depicted in this DNIT and that given in HSR. the unit and nomenclature given in HSR Shall be applicable. ii) In case of any difference in the unit of any Non- schedule items depicted in this DNIT and the Conventional unit of that N.S Item as per practice in this department the conventional unit as per practice shall be applicable
