REPAIRS TO RUNWAY JOINT FILLING WITH BOSTIK AND GRADE B COMPOUND AT PTT, TAXIWAY AND LINKS OF DISPERSALS AT AF STATION IZATNAGAR, BAREILLY.

Cutting the edges of old joints of following width by racking out old sealing compound from existing joints of tarmac to depth as required (subject to minimum depth of 35 mm) and removing old filled sealing compound from the joints by means of compressed air and fill the joints as per following process: - (i) Backup rod of suitable dia to be inserted in the joint tightly. (ii) Sealing compound (Polyurethane sealant) conforming to BS-5212 shall be filled properly for a depth of not less than 10 mm after application of suitable primer as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. The finished level of sealed joints shall be on an average 3 mm below the top surface of slabs.

(i) Width of joint exc. 5 mm but not exc. 12 mm.

(ii) Width of joint exc. 12 mm but not exc. 18 mm.

(iii) Width of joint exc. 18 mm but not exc. 25 mm.

(iv) Width of joint exc. 25 mm but not exc. 32 mm.

(v) Width of joint exc. 32 mm but not exc. 45 mm.

(vi) Width of joint exc. 45 mm but not exc. 55 mm.

M & L for filling of pot holes in concrete surface, of following sizes and filling as per following process : - (i) Cleaning of surface by means of wire brush and removing the dust by means of compressed air. (ii) Sealing compound (Polyurethane sealant) conforming to BS-5212 shall be filled in pot holes after application of primer. NOTE FOR ITEM NO. 1.00 AND 2.00: - Sealing compound shall be Bostik "seal N flex-2k" Polyurethane sealent conforming to BS-5212 with minimum movement accommodation factor of 30% when tested as per ASTM C-719. The sealent shall have shore a hardness > 25 and elongation at break of greater than 900%.

(i) Dia and depth of pot hole not exc. 1 cm.

(ii) Dia and depth of pot hole exc. 1 cm but not exc. 2cm.

Repair to concrete slab or pavement of existing damaged edges / spoiled edges to triangular / rectangular cross section, removing all broken and loose material to a distance exc. 50 metres but not exc. 100 metres and cleaning the surface with compressed air to remove dust, dirt, loose sand / foreign material, washing the surface with acid solution and repairing surface / edge with epoxy resin mortar as per manufacturer instructions after application of epoxy resin primer with and including necessary formwork complete all as specified and directed.

Cutting the edges of any type of joints 30 mm deep by racking out old sealing compound from existing joints by means of compressed air and filled the joints with sealing compound grade 'B' after application of primer for the following size joints complete all as specified and directed: -

(i) Width of joint exc. 8 mm but not exc. 18 mm.

(ii) Width of joint exc. 18 mm but not exc. 25 mm.

(iii) Width of joint exc. 25 mm but not exc. 32 mm.

(iv) Width of joint exc. 32 mm but not exc. 40 mm.

M & L for Preparing of old black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc., sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface using air blowers to remove all loose dirt etc. complete and applying cold Polymer Modified Emulsion (PME) by spraying with machine of total cold liquid PME 0.90 lit per Sqm (undiluted) for two coats with mineral filler as recommended by manufacturer of PME (after diluting with water), each coat diluted in the ratio 1:1 (PME : WATER) and ensure uniform finish of PME on runway complete all as per manufacturer’s instructions and all as specified and as directed.

NOTES: - The tenderer shall take into consideration for the following points while quoting his rate for this item :- (a) Due care shall be taken for friction parameters during application of PME as per ICAO standard. (b) The work shall be carried out through authorised and qualified applicators of the manufacturer only. (c) Care shall be taken to fill gaps / cracks up to 3 mm size with mineral filler as per manufacturer’s instructions. (d) A performance guarantee certificate for two years shall be submitted by the contractor to the GE on completion of work as specified. (e) Application of PME shall be done by flooding and wiping in both first coat and second coat with the help of wiper or as directed by the manufacturer. (f) Application of PME shall be done under the supervision of manufacturer's technical experts.

M & L for applying of cold bituminous emulsion to the bituminous surface by spraying with the help of sprayer @ 3.60 Litre per 10 Sqm including preparation of bituminous surface by removing all loose dust, dirt and aggregate etc. by means of compressed air complete all as specified and directed.
