BOQ (Soil investigation for Provn of OTM accn for PAR at AF Station Suratgarh.)

1. (a) Mobilization of all required equipment , plant , instruments and its subsequent demobilization etc. complete on satisfactory completion of the soil investigation jobs Setting & shifting of rig at bore hole/test location including 1st one Drilling exploratory bore holes of not more than 150mm diameter, in all types of soil, including clay, as per specification . (Soil where SPT “N” equal or less than 50) Drilling NX size exploratory bore holes in weathered rock / hard rock with T.C./with diamond drill bit with core run not more than 1.5 m & collecting rock samples using double tube core barrels , preserving rock samples in wooden core boxes all as per the specifications including gravity grouting if necessary in water loss zones & providing cement (soft rock is defined SPT “N” equal or more than 50) Conducting standard penetration tes (SPT) @1.5m interval and collecting /preserving SPT samples , as per specificationsCollecting undisturbed soil samples(UDS) with thin alled sampling tube and conforming to the specifications Collecting ground water samples for chemical analysis. (b) To carry out the test to ascertain soil profiles/proportion to determine safe bearing capacity complete with field and lab investigation according to relevant specifications of IS 2131, IS 6403, IS 1498, & IS 2720. 2. Conduct of soil investigation for followings: (a) 150mm diameter bore holes Depth 10 m , as per IS specification.

(i) For Soil Investigation = 02 boreholes As marked by Red pen in site plan. (b) Collection of disturbed and undisturbed soil sample at interval of 1.00 mtr or at change of strata or as per relevant IS Code. (c) Conduction lab test on disturbed soil samples as considered necessary according to relevant specification of IS 2720 :- (i) Sieve analysis & Grain size distribution by sieve analysis & hydrometer test. (ii) Atterberg limits (iii) Natural moisture content (iv) Particle size analysis test (v) Bulk density/Dry density (d) Conducting lab test on undisturbed soil sample as considered necessary according to relevant specification of IS 2720 and detailed result showing all relevant calculations, inferences, indices and parameters shall be given in the soil report:- (i) Sieve analysis (ii) Atterberg limits (iii) Natural moisture content (iv) Particle size analysis test (v) Bulk density (vi) Specific gravity

(vii) Free swell index and swelling properties of soil (viii) Organic matter in soil if any. (ix) Consolidation test (compressed index value) (x) Triaxial compression test and determination of shear parameters (C &Ø test) as per relevant IS. (xi) Harmful salt (complete investigation as already ref.) (e) Ground Water Table:- (i) Maximum and minimum levels of Ground Water in the area with source of information. (ii) Ground Water Table during the investigations. 3. Submission of Six copies of ink signed test report with detailed description of field investigation, soil classification and general nature of soil strata, water table, interpretation of test results, grains size distribution curves, compressive index curves, site plan etc. 4. The SBC of the soil is required to be given as per following table. Calculation of bearing capacity will be governed generally as per IS 8009 (Pt-I)-1976, IS 2720 (Pt-II)-1980, IS 6403-1981, IS 1904-1986 & IS 1080-1985 and other relevant IS codes and detailed calculations duly showing the various soil parameters/ indices shall be given in the Soil Report.:-

With every site’s Soil Investigation Report, a detailed site plan showing the approx location of each bore duly numbered as per log of bore hole should be enclosed. Location of foundation of adjacent structures, especially those that might be impacted by the proposed construction. 6. Every page of the Soil Investigation Report should have the Name of the Job for which Soil Investigation is being carried out. In case of multiple sites of a single Job are being investigated name of each site shall be put on each page of report pertaining to the site.

7. All pages of the Soil Investigation Report shall be serially numbered, stamped and signed by the Agency carrying out the Soil Investigation. Report should be scrutinized by GE & CWE for correctness & endorsed 8. GST,Transportation charges including loading and unloading of heavy girders, T&P technician etc complete from laboratory to work site and back shall be deemed included in rates quoted by bidders 9. Photographic record of geo-explorations as well as testing shall also form part of the repor.t 10. The GE shall intimate the approximate type of construction, utilization and dimensions of proposed building to the consultant, who based on Geotechnical investigations, should recommend type of foundation (viz isolated/combined footing, raft, pile etc). 11. In case of underground buildings/ basement construction, or if requirement of temporary/permanent deep excavation support measures during construction of building are envisaged necessary, excavation support measures to be given by the consultant based on geotechnical investigation.
