Excavation in earth work in hilly area all heights and depths, in all kind of soil including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil, ordinary rock and hard rock. All work of rock cutting by blasting shall be carried out by taking all necessary precautions against soil erosion, damage to hill side, water pollution etc. and to protect stability of hill side track shall be excavated with chiseling and wedging out rock (where blasting is prohibited). All earth work in cutting/excavation, including rock excavation shall be carried out true to lines, grades, side slopes, width, camber, super-elevation and level as shown on the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-in-charge, in conformity with the requirement of technical specification for rural road and clause 1603.1 & 1603.2 to achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of material useful for construction at suitable sites and safe disposal & dumping to be arranged by the contractor of unsuitable cut materials in specified manner,trimming, filling of unevenness ,blindage and finishing of the road to specified dimensions or as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge for smooth riding. The recovery of the stones whether useful or not, for 3914.78 Cubic Metre ( Three thousand Nine Hundred Forteen Point Seventy eight Cubic meter) in all cases @ Rupees 170/- only (Rupees One hundred Seventy only) per Cubic Metre shall be effected on pro-rata basis.Any loss to the public and private property during the course of excavation shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor,which shall have to duly compensated by him in all cases.

Excatation in soil in hilly area in all depths using manual means as per drawing and technical specification ministry of Rural Development for rural roads August 2004 (Two thousands four) clause 305.1 (three hundred five point one) including setting out, coustruction of shoring and bracing, removal of stumps and other deleterious materials including dressing of sides and bottom and back filling in trenches with excavated suitable materials and stacking of materials useful for construction at suitable sites and safe dispoal of unsuitable cut materials by all modes of transportations in all leads and lifts at specified places in specified manner, systematically with level consideration to avoiding adverse effects on environment, trimming filling of unevenness blindage and finishing of the road to specified dimension or as directed by the Engineer-in-charge. any loss to the public or private property during the course of excavation shall be the whole responsibility of the contractor which shall have to be duly compensated by him at his own cost in all cases.

If the foundation of the structure is in an area with stagnant water or water is met with in the excavation due to spring seepage rain and other causes it shall be removed by suitable diversion bailing out or pumping as directed and the area of the foundation or embankment shall be kept dry. Any loss to the public or private property during the course of excavation shall be the whole responsibility of the contractor which shall have to be duly compensated by him at his own cost in all cases.
