HORTICULTURE MAINTENANCE WORK

Complete Maintenance of the entire garden features in the garden area ie., lawns / plants/hedges/shrubs, flower beds /creepers etc., including hoeing, pruing , replacement of plants, gap filling , regular watering ,removal of weeds from root level ,mowing of lawn, clipping of hedges, removal of garden waste , hoeing, pruing , replacement of plants, gap filling , applying insecticide, pesticide & fertilizer (whenever required) , top dressing of lawn with good earth and maintenanace of other garden related works as directed by Engineer-in-charge.( Note: (1)Good earth,manure,fertilizer ,insecticide , pesticide etc., will be provided by department) (2) Contractor has to engage minimum 15 unskilled labour for general maintenance and 09 semiskilled male hedge cutting, lawn mowing & pesticide application. If not enagaged required labour , Payment will be deducted proportionately.(3) Approximately 44500 sqm area to be mainatained per day. Hence, 44500 sqm x 285 days= 12682500 sqm area to be maintained in a year.

Complete Maintenance of the entire tree planatation areas by regular watering ,formation of basin around the trees at reqular intervals , removal of side branches , stacking of tree saplings , applying insecticide, pesticide & fertilizer (whenever required) , application of manure etc., as directed by Engineer-in-charge.( Note: (1)Good earth,manure,fertilizer ,insecticide , pesticide etc., will be provided by department (2) Contractor has to engage minimum 3 semiskilled male per day for general maintenance,If not enagaged, required labour , Payment will be deducted proportionately. .(3) Approximately 23000 sqm area to be mainatained per day. Hence, 23000 sqm x 285 days= 6555000 sqm area to be maintained in a year.

Engaging of rotavator/power tiller/ cultivator/power weeder etc., for ploughing the entire tree plantataion area not less than 200 mm depth for removal of unwanted grass and levelling the area after ploughing etc., as directed by Engineer-in-charge.(Note: (1)Contractor has to engage only experienced operator to carryout the work (2) Work shall be carried out with prior approval of Engineer-in-charge.

NURSERY MAINTENANCE /DEVELOPMENT

Maintenance of the existing nursery including reqular wqtering , weeding ,cleaning the leaves , mixing and application of red earth and manure including appliocation of pesticides and fertilizers and with following scope of work etc., complete as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Scope of work: Contractor has to (a) maintain minimum 4000 nos. of potted plants per day available at nursery. (b) develope/propagate minimum 15000 nos. of plants in milk covers in a year after filling with earth and manure and to be maintained in nursery till plantation stage. (c) maintain flower beds /seasonal flower plants at nursery (d) Filling of empty pots with mixture of good earth and manure and placing them in countable manner as and when required ( Note:(1) Good earth,manure,rooting hormones , fertilizer ,insecticide , pesticide etc., will be provided by department .(2) One semi skilled-Knowledge about maintenance of plants & Three unskilled labour has to be engaged per day without fail. Otherwise, payment will be deducted proportionately.

Supplying of winter/summer/rainy seasonal seedlings at site of well developed and healthy free from disease in per tray and each tray having 100 nos. saplings for palnation in ground/pots/poly bags etc,m complete as direccted by Engineer-in-charge.(Note: The following winter seedlings like Calendula, Crysanthemum, Cosmos, Dianthus,Gazania,Marigold, Petunia ,Salvia,Verbena etc., and summer & rainy season seedlings like Balsom, celosia ,cosmos, Gompherna, Sunflower dwarf,Vinca rosea and Zinnia hybrid etc.,

Cutting and removal of wild vegetative growth

Cutting and removal of subapul growth / other vegetative growth / thorny growth / bushy plants of girth upto 300 mm various heights along the perimeter wall of NFC ,inside premises, cutting then upto ground level, scraping and removing, collection and conveying upto 100 m. distance in the earmarked areaincluding making the areas neat and clean etc., complete as directed ( Note: Separate labour to be engaged for this work and record to be maintained for work done)

Development /Renovation of Horticulture work

Developement/renovation of lawn /ground covers/creepers/flowering and foliage plants etc., by site clearance of proposed site, uprooting rank vegetation and weeds by digging the area to a depth of 60 cm ,removing all weeds and other growth with roots by forking repaetly,breaking clods, excavation of soil to a depth of 30 cm , formation of mound with excavated soil if required as per site conditions, rough dressing ,Mixing of red earth and manure in thr required proportion as directed ,spreading of mixed earth and manure in required thickness, flooding the area for 10 to 15, again removal of weeds, fine dressing the ground , planting of grass /plants /ground covers etc., and maintaining them for a period of one month by regular watering, weeding ,application ferlizers, pestcides etc., from the date of completion of work etc.,and disposal of unused/excavated earth/rubbish to a distance of 200 m. as per specification and as directed. (Note: Required earth ,manure, fertilizers, pesticides, grass and plants will be supplied by the depatment.) ( Note: Separate labour to be engaged for this work and record to be maintained for work done)

Earth work in excavation for tree plantation/shrubs plantation by mechaniacl means /manual means including mixing ofearth and manure , spreading and refilling of pits with earth and manure in required proportion , dressing the area including getting out the excavated soil and disposal of surplus excavated soil as directed , with ia lead of 200m. completee as directed by Engineer-in-charge. (Note: Required earth and manure will be supplied by the depatment.) ( Note: Separate labour to be engaged for this work and record to be maintained for work done)

Miscellaneous

Supplying and stacking at site of decomposed Supplying and stacking at site of decomposed farm yard manure, free from rubbish and vegetation etc., including royalty and carriage complete as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note: Manure measured in stacks will be reduced by 8% for voids for the purpose of payment.

Engaging tractor trolley (not less than 2.85 cum capacity) along with driver for transporting earth / manure/flower pots /compost generated at compost unit/ removal of wild vegetative growth at various places of NFC as directed by Engineer-in-charge.( Note: Minimum six trips per day shall be carried out , otherwise, payment will be deducted proportionately. Loading and unloading shall be carried out by existing labour only and no seperate payment will be paid for labour)
