BILL OF QUANTITIES

A. General Instruction for the BOQ

1. The Bill of Quantities shall be reading conjunction with the Instruction to Bidders,

Conditions of Contract, Technical Specifications.

2. The bidder is advised to visit and examine the Site of Works and its surroundings and

obtain for itself on its own responsibility all information that may be necessary for

preparing the bid and entering into a contract for construction of the Works. The costs

of visiting the Site shall be at the bidders own expense. No claim in future for

unknown with the site by the bidder shall be granted in any case.

3. The quantities given in the Bill of Quantities are estimated and provisional and are

given to provide a common basis for bidding. The basis of payment will be the actual

quantities of work ordered and carried out, as measured by the Contractor and verified

by the Engineer and valued at the rates and prices bid in the priced Bill of Quantities,

where applicable, and otherwise at such rates and prices as the Engineer may fix

within the terms of the Contract. Contractor shall not raise any claim for too less

or too more quantities executed by him. Quantity may vary with respect to BOQ

as well as place of work also may change cited in the tender.

4. The rates and prices Bid in the priced Bill of Quantities, except in so far as it is

otherwise, provided under the Contract, include all constructional plant, labour,

supervisions, materials, all temporary works and false works, erection, maintenance,

establishment and overhead charges, profit, any taxation and levies, octroi and other

charges together with all general risks, liabilities and obligations set out or implied in

the Contract and including remedy of any defects during the Defects Liability Period.

5. The stipulated rates in BOQ are entirely in India Rupee Currency.

6. Rates shall be entered both in figures and words against total amount of Bill of

or summarized in the Bill of Quantities. Reference to the relevant sections of the

contract documentation shall be made before quoting the bid against each item in the

Bill of Quantities.

9. The method of measurement of completed work for payment shall be in accordance

with the requirement as stated in the individual sections of the Technical

Specifications.

10. Contractor shall credit the material dismantled during the work in progress in AMC

store suggested by Engineer in charge of the work.

11. AMC reserves the right to decrease the scope of work or to incase of any condition.

AMC may start it after approval of competent authority.

Detailed technical specification for all the Items above shall be relevant to PWD manual

general material specification there in during the construction period of the contract.

Contractor should adhere to the specifications and same shall be considered as the tender

Incase of any discrepancy the decision of engineer in-charge shall be considered as final.

In case of any dispute the decision of City Engineer shall be considered as final.
