Collection and Processing of Blast Hole, Field and ROM Samples with processing of PP drilling samples at Central and North Block Panchpatmali Bauxite Mine, Nalco Damanjodi

Processing of PP drilling & Developmental Drilling Bauxite Samples adopting the following sequential steps: a. Drying up of bauxite samples ( By Industrial oven or sun dry). b. Grinding/Sieving/Reduction of the dried bauxite samples to –120 mesh size (three different stages of grinding,sieving &reduction of sample ) as per instruction of the Engineer-in-charge. c. Preparation and packaging of the representative bauxite samples (two nos of 50gm/100gm each)in polythene bags with label tag and storage of the same sample in the designated racks as per the instruction of the Engineer-in-charge.

Processing of three nos. ROM samples, Colection & Processing of one Blasthole sample / two nos Field Bauxite Samples(from Ripping Dozing & Backhoe shovel) adopting the following sequential steps on daily basis with two unskilled workers . a. Collection of ROM/Blast-hole & Field samples from the crusher point , from the field and bringing it to the sample processing lab(Departmental vehicle will be provided for sample collection from ROM hoper/Field). b. Drying up of the ROM/ Blast hole sample ( Industrial oven or Sundry). c. Grinding/Sieving/Reduction of the dried bauxite samples to –120 mesh size (three different stages ) as per instruction of the Engineer-in-charge. d. Preparation and packaging of the representative bauxite samples with one duplicate sample for future reference. e. Processed samples are to be handed over to the Alumina Plant Lab for analysis in the same day and to maintain a record of handing over the samples to Alumina plant laboratory. f)The developmental drilling samples will be processed as per the requirement following the same procedure as mentioned above.

Provision of three Unskilled workers for Collection of ROM Sample adopting the following sequential steps as per instruction of the Engineer-in-charge :- a. Collection of ROM Sample from the acceleration conveyor with the help of scoop provided for collection in each of A,B & C shift. b. Collection of sample on hourly / half hourly basis or as per the frequency decided by the department. The total collected sample in a shift thoroughly mixed if required. Boulder may be broken into smaller pieces, reduced the quantity using reffler and keeping it in a bag with proper tag. c. The samples of A,B& C Shifts shall be carried to sample processing lab on the next day by 9AM in the vehicle provided by NALCO.
