PART - I : ROAD WORKS
Clearing jungle including uprooting of rank vegetation, grass, brush wood, trees and saplings of girth up to 15 cm measured at a height of 1 m above ground level and removal of rubbish up to a distance of 50 m outside the periphery of the area cleared etc complete all as per specifications and as directed by EIC.
In all soil other than soft and hard rock
Disposal of surplus earth to a approved location by mechanical transport for a lead upto 5 Km within campus including loading, unloading, stacking, spreading, levelling etc. all complete as per specifications & as directed by the Engineer in Charge. Note: Voids @ 20% for soils and 50% for soft / hard rock shall be deducted from fully loaded truck measurements to arrive at the net quantity for payment, in case direct measurement is not possible.
For all types of soil
Proof rolling with 8/10 tonne power roller over Sub-Grade of the road to achieve proper consolidation including watering etc complete all as per specifications, drawings and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
Providing 150mm thick flat brick soling in two layers with well burnt brick of approved quality soling bricks, laid flat to required level, gradient slope etc. including binding with locally available fine sand etc. complete as shown in drawing and as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
Providing, laying & spreading brick jamma khoa 90mm to 63mm size laid to 135mm thick and consolidated and compacted to 100mm thick, hand packed, filling the interstices with smaller size materials, blinding with locally available sand, water compacting with 8 to 10 tones power roller including finishing to proper gradient, camber, slope etc. completed all as required as per specifications, drawings and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. (measurements shall be based on the net quantity of compacted layer).
Supplying and stacking material as mentioned below, of approved quality and brought from approved source, at the site of work for pre-measurement etc complete all as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer in Charge. (for water bound macadam only)
50 mm IRC hard trap stone metal
Forming Water Bound Macadam road of 125 mm consolidated thickness including preparing sub-grade, screening, sorting, spreading to template graded metal, consolidation by 8 to 10 tonne power road roller, spreading and consolidation of blinding materials, watering etc. complete all as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer in Charge. Note : Only IRC metal will be paid under relevant item but binding materials etc. as per specifications to be arranged by the contractor at his own cost for this item.
Providing and fixing factory made precast kerb stone of cement concrete minimum M-25 grade, of size 125 mm wide and 375 mm deep curved at inner edge of 25 mm radius, having length 500 to 600 mm / or size as directed by EIC / as per IS:5758 including necessary form work, compaction, finishing, curing, fixing with CM 1:4 using reday mix mortar, jointing and pointing in cement mortar 1:4 using reday mix mortar including earth work and providing & laying 75 mm thick & 200 mm wide PCC 1:4:8 for foundation below kerb stone, and painting in pattern with approved shade & colour synthetic enamel paint two coat over a coat of primer etc. complete all as per specification and as directed by the Engineer- in- Charge. (Precast C.C. kerb stone shall be approved by Engineer-in-charge).
Providing and laying 38 mm thick hot mixed and hot laid bituminous macadam using graded metal 20 mm down, bitumen not less than 3.7% by weight of total mix of grade VG-30, or 60/70; including cleaning the existing water bound macadam road surface/ asphalt road surface by wire brushing, brooming, providing tack coat at 7.5 kg of bitumen per 10 sq.m, mechanical mixing, transporting, mechanical spreading, machine laying to required line, level, camber and compacting thoroughly with 8 to 10 tonne power road roller etc. complete as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer in Charge.
Providing and laying 12 mm thick hot mixed hot laid premixed bituminous concrete as Seal coat using 10 mm down graded stone aggregate, bitumen not less than 7% by weight of total mix of grade VG-30 or 60/70; over bituminous macadam or water bound macadam road surface /asphalt road surfaces, cleaning the road surfaces by wire brushing, brooming including mechanical mixing, transporting, mechanical spreading, machine laying to required line, level, camber and compacting thoroughly with 8 to 10 tonne power road roller etc. complete as per specifications and as directed by Engineer in Charge.
Providing and laying premixed seal coat using 0.6 Cum of grit or sand (passing 2.36mm sieve and retained on 180 microns) per 100 Sqm area including cleaning the surface, preheating the grit/sand by Miller Mixer/ suitable pans, mixing of bitumen grade 60/70 (VG-30) @ 128 kg/cum of grit/sand, laying the mixture uniformly over the surface and rolling with power roller 8 - 10 tones capacity including the cost and carriage of grit/sand and matrix, heating matrix and grit/sand in this connection by miller mixture with tack coat using matrix @ 5 kg/10 sqm including cost of all materials, labour charges, consumable etc. complete and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
Providing & laying NP 2 class of following RCC Hume pipe in underground for passing of various services line etc. including making holes in masonry/concrete work wherever required, making good the holes after laying the hume pipe with collar joints using stiff mixture of cement mortar (1:2) all complete as per specifications & as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Providing and fixing 60 mm thick (min.) factory made Reflective (Glossy/ Smooth finish ) interlocking paver blocks of specified finish, approved make and colour, shade, size, shape laid in pattern manufactured with cement concrete grade not less than M-35 and conforming to IS:15658, including supplying & laying 50 mm thick stone dust evenly spread over the sub-base including consolidation of sub-base properly vibrating with the surface vibrator, finishing to line, level and slope, finally filling the joints with fine clean sand and cleaning the surface disposing off the debris at directed place etc. complete all as per specification and as directed by the Engineer- in- Charge. Note: 1. Sample with test reports from approved laboratory shall be submitted without any cost to the department. 2. Prior approval of Engineer-in-Charge shall be taken before large quantity of requirements.
Providing and fixing precast water table, of approved make and splay or flush type made of cement concrete of grade M-40 (using graded stone aggregate of 20 mm thick max. size) of approx. size 500 X 325 mm and 100 mm thick (or of size as directed / as specified), including necessary form work, consolidation, finishing. curing, fixing with ready mix mortar (having CM 1:4) as specified , jointing and pointing in ready mix mortar (having CM 1:4) as specified etc. complete as per specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
Providing and laying in position, below paver block/ kerb stone and at all levels & locations plain cement concrete of grade as specified below including machine mixing, consolidation, finishing, curing and including cost of form work, shuttering, centering etc. complete all as per specifications and directed by EIC. Extra for providing RMC (Ready Mixed Concrete) conforming to IS 4926 (Latest) in lieu of conventional RCC items supplied by approved RMC manufacturers for all type of structural elements including transporting, pumping etc. complete as per instruction of the Engineer-in-Charge. Note : i) The contractor shall obtain prior approval for RMC manufacturer from Engineer-in-Charge in writing. ii) The rate shall apply for all levels and locations including all type of structure etc. iii) Extra for RMC in lieu of conventional RCC and PCC of any grade mentioned elsewhere in shall be measured and paid under this item.
Dismantling PCC/ RCC works by chiselling at all levels including scaffolding, stacking of serviceable materials and disposal of unserviceable material within lead of 150m and all as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
Dismantling / demolishing work by manual /Chiselling/ mechnical means, carefully without damaging & disturbing adjacent structures, at all levels, locations & floors including labour, machine, loading, unloading, transportation, stacking of serviceable material at directed place & disposal of debris & unserviceable material as per direction, scaffolding etc complete all as per specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Notes for dismantling : 1)Before commencement of dismantling and demolition work, the agency shall take detailed measurements and got approved from the EIC. 2) After dismantling & demolition of the work, relevant area shall be cleaned and kept free from any stacked/dumped material so that the new work can be taken without any obstruction.

Earth work in excavation over areas by mechanical means (Hydraulic excavator)/ manual means to required profile, level, grade, camber etc. in all soils as mentioned below (exceeding 30 cm in depth, 1.5m in width as well as 10 SqM on plan area) including dressing of excavated area, refilling with approved excavated materials in layers not exceeding 150mm around the tank and other areas including watering, consolidation to obtain 90% proctor density and stacking/ disposing the surplus excavated materials with in a lead of 150m including spreading and levelling with all in herent lift etc. to the required location etc. complete all as per specifications, drawings and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Reinforcement for RCC work including supplying, delivering, storing of various diameters as required at site of work including loading, unloading, transporting, decoiling, straightening, cutting, bending, placing in position at all floors, locations & levels and binding with 18 gauge, soft drawn annealed steel binding wire including carrying out various tests as required etc. all as per specifications, drawings & as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. (Note: The cost of binding wire shall be borne by the contractor and binding wire shall not be measured for payment.)
For Below Plinth Level (In Sub Structure) Thermo Mechanically Treated bars of grade Fe-500 D / Fe-550 D, manufactured by SAIL, TATA STEEL, JSW, JSPL and RINL only.
Reinforced cement concrete of grade M-30 in foundation and plinth including box drain, cable trench, RCC walls, slabs, foundation and pedestal for street light poles etc. conforming to lS 456 : 2000, and IS 13920 for all structural members in all geometrical shapes / design as per drawings using graded stone aggregate of 20mm and down graded including machine mixing, conveying, placing in position, mechanical consolidation, finishing, curing, etc. complete all as per drawings, specifications & as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. REINFORCED CEMENT CONCRETE a) All RCC shall be controlled concrete unless otherwise specified and shall be carried out strictly in accordance with the drawings and specifications. b) The rates for RCC works shall be exclusive of cost of reinforcement and form work unless otherwise mentioned. c) All coarse aggregate to be 20mm maximum size and uniformly graded unless otherwise mentioned. d) For all RCC items, the rates quoted shall include the following without any extra cost to the Deptt. i) Spacers to maintain clear cover for reinforcement. ii) Fixing at correct level and in proper alignment the inserts pipe sleeves, pipe bends, fan hooks, other pipe specials etc. if required. iii) Cut-outs in slabs, construction joints etc. iv) Test for concrete shall be done as per IS-456-2000 and the cost of the same shall be borne by the contractor.
For all type of Structural / RCC Elements of all geometrical shapes at all height and locations.

Providing, erecting, fixing in position striking / removing and cleaning steel / timber shuttering & centering for form work in foundation for plinth, box drain cable trenches, electrical pits etc. at all locations for all geometrical shapes in plain, curved surfaces of structural / RCC elements including chamfers, splays, keys, wedges, props, rails, bracings, brackets, cutting holes for pipe etc. providing & applying approved form oil on all surfaces of form work coming in contact with concrete including close hacking of all exposed concrete work after removal of form work, all materials labour etc. complete as per instruction of the Engineer -in Charge.
Disposal of debris etc. and excavated surplus earth not suitable for filling including transportation by mechanical means to suitable dumping area with all leads, loading, unloading, stacking, spreading, levelling etc. complete as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
Within Campus of VECC
Outside of VECC Campus Notes : a) Voids @ 20% for soils and 50% for soft rock/hard rock shall be deducted from fully loaded truck measurements to arrive at the net quantity for payment in case direct measurement is not possible. b) Approval from concenred authorities is the responsibility of contractor and quoted rate shall be inclusive of all charges if any from the statutory authorities such as royalty etc.
Providing & fixing in position following size Weep holes/ storm water drain wherever required in RCC/ Masonry walls including cutting to required shape & size all as per specifications, drawings and all complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Construction of brick masonry storm water chamber of following dimensions for an initial depth upto 0.60M comprising 250mm thick brick masonry in cement mortar 1:4 with corbelling at top as shown in the drawing over a bed of 150mm thick cement concrete 1:2:4 for foundation with 150mm offset alround including providing and fixing CI steps/footrests/rungs each weighing not less than 5 kg., first step at 450mm from top of cover, remaining @ 300mm c/c, staggered with 380mm spacing, painting etc. racking out joints plastering in cement mortar 1:3, 20mm thick both on internal and external surfaces finished smooth with a floating coat of neat cement on both sides, making benching around RCC Hume pipes in the chamber with PCC 1:2:4 (as per drawing), fixing the DI (Ductile Iron) gratings with cover ('Neco' make GF-12) for heavy duty overall size 900mm x 900mm) in PCC 1:2:4 at top of chamber, all as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge and drawings. DI Grating will be paid under relevant item :
Chamber measuring 1M x 1M clear internal dimensions for an initial depth of upto 0.60M (clear inside depth).
Extra over previous item for additional depth of chamber beyond initial depth of 0.60M of storm water chamber including providing and fixing steps/ footrests/rungs painting etc. all complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Cutting the existing bituminous road carefully to the required width for laying the RC Hume pipes of required diameter for crossing the road and restoring to its original condition after laying pipes complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
Dismantling the RCC wall/ foundation raft of compound wall wherever required for laying/ taking out the RC Hume pipes including chiselling carefully upto the required size, cutting the reinforcement steel finishing the concrete surfaces with CM 1:3, collecting and stacking the debris to designated location and disposing off outside VECC complex complete as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note: Extra care shall be taken to not to disturb the RCC compound wall in the adjoining areas while carrying out the dismantling at required locations.
Supplying, fabricating and fixing in position structural steel of angle, joists, channel, I Beam plain/chequered plates for supports of required size including cutting, fabricating, welding, erecting in position for fixing covers/supports in concrete, including painting with two coats of approved synthetic enamel paint over a coat of zinc cromate red oxide primer all complete all as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Providing & laying in trenches socket spigot centrifugally cast Ductile (Spun) iron pressure Pipes for water supply, Class K9 of approved make conforming to1S:8329, external zinc-bitumen coated to1S:8329, external zinc-bitumen coated them in position to correct alignment and them in position to correct alignment and levels, laying (IS 12288), jointing with rubber gasket of SBR as per IS 5382 and/or IS 12820 with ISI mark, cutting the pipe to the required length including the cost of wastage of pipes if any, cutting or making hole or chases in RCC or brick work structure such as wall, column, beam, slab, chajja, dado etc. for passing the pipe line and reinstating all the damage to its original condition. testing the pipes after making necessary joints to appropriate hydraulic pressure with minimum duration of testing for two hours with clean and potable water all as per specification and as directed by the Engineer in charge.

Providing, laying and jointing following Ductile iron (fittings & specials), external Zinc bitumen coated & internal cement mortar lined with ISI mark, Mechanical, Flanged, and / or Push on' type Specials / Fittings, K12 Class conforming to IS 9523 of approved make such as Tees, Bends, Collars, reducers, tapers etc. of all sockets/ flanged/ socket spigot etc. with sealing Rubber Gasket of SBR conforming to IS 5382 and / or IS 12820 with ISI mark, cast / Ductile iron follower Gland, MS nuts & bolts coated or otherwise protected from rusting, suitable for D.I pressure pipes for water supply to correct alignment and levels including testing the specials to appropriate hydraulic pressure alongwith the pipe line with clean and potable water, as per specifications and directed by Engineer in charge.
Mechanical joint type fittings/ flanged joint fittings/ push on joint type fittings. NOTE: Fittings shall be mechanical joint type. The above cost includes making 'push on' / Mechanical joints with Gasket, bolts, Nuts etc. Making flanged joints with or without new DI/ GI/ MS flanges shall be paid under relevant item.
Providing & fixing and Jointing to pipe work of following dia. Cast Iron / Spheroidal Graphite (SG) Iron D/F PN 1.6 class Sluice valve of approved Make with IS mark & as per IS 14846 : 2000 (including all hardware, packing and flange connection) water works quality, having non-rising spindle with hand wheel, spindle of stainless steel as per requirement, testing the joints and valves to a hydraulic pressure as mentioned all as per the specification and as directed, Including fixing of structural steel if required.

Constructing brick masonry Inspection chambers of internal sizes 900 X 600mm at bottom and 900 X 450mm at top for an initial depth of 600mm consisting following items of work. i) 250 mm thick brick masonry in cement mortar 1:2 over 150 mm thick bed in cement concrete of grade 1:2:4 with 150 mm offset alround, tapering the longitudinal walls to a height of 450 mm from top of chamber cover to obtain an internal dimension of 900 X 450mm ii) 20 mm thick plaster in cement mortar 1:1 mixed with water proofing compound @ 2% by weight of cement on internal and external surfaces, internal surfaces and top finished with a floating coat of neat cement. iii) Making benching and haunching in cement concrete of grade 1:2:4 and finishing with floating coat of neat cement. iv) Fixing frame and cover at top using cement concrete of grade 1:2:4 (for bed block / bearing course and capping) and cast iron steps / foot rests, all as per specification and as directed by Engineer in charge. NOTE:- Providing & fixing foot-rests / steps and CI / RCC / Composite frame & cover including CC of grade 1:2:4 for fixing the frame and cover, plastering in C.M 1:2 on exposed surfaces of bed block & capping, making smooth cement finish etc. will be paid under relevant item
NOTE FOR INSPECTION CHAMBER & MANHOLE i) Depth of Manhole / chamber shall be the vertical distance from the top of the frame & cover of manhole / chamber to the outgoing invert of the main drain channel. ii) The internal diameter of sizes mentioned in the item shall be measured from finished plastered surfaces. iii) 1:2:3 grade concrete for fixing frame & cover (ie., for capping & bed block or bearing course) and CM 1:2 for plastering & fixing shall be paid separately in relevant item. iv) Slope of 1:6 for benching shall be started from channel of depth equal of the outgoing sewer diameter. v) The slope of conical wall of manhole and longitudinal walls of rectangular Inspection Chamber starts from the vertical height of 200mm from top of frame and cover. vi) While making payment for extra over initial depth, the thickness of RCC frame & cover and the thickness of cement concrete bed block (bearing course) shall not be deducted from the depth of manhole or chamber

SECTION -I: Street Lighting Poles & Luminaires:
STREET LIGHT POLES Street Light Poles:Design, manufacture, testing at works, supply, assembling, installation, and erection of Octagonal pole internally & externally hot dipped galvanised , fabricated out of 3mm thick sheet as per relevant I.S, complete with built in junction box, base plate size 200 X 200 X 16 mm, as per detailed specifications. Junction box should be provided 500 mm above base plate with 4 Nos brass terminals on epoxy insulator,1 no. 6A SP MCB (D-curve) & 1 no. neutral link mounted on 4 mm thick bakelite sheet, gland plate etc. Base plate should have 4 nos holes suitable for mounting on existing RCC foundation 200 mm above FGL. The cost of pole shall include the cost of foundation bolts, anchor plates, nuts, washers, min 2nos.HDPE PLB pipe 50/40 mm dia bend to shape min. 1.5m. in length as per instructions of E-I-C. M. S. Boxes : Fabrication, supply and installation of M.S. supports / boxes as per specification.
MS Fabrication : Supply, fabrication and installation of supports using MS channel/angle/flat/MS rod hangers etc. including painting with two coats of primer and two coats of epoxy paint of approved shade as per instructions of EIC.
Supply & laying of 50/42 mm OD/ID self lubricated HDPE pipes in ground at depth of 600 mm including excavation in all types of soil including hard rock if any cutting of existing footpath, road etc, sand bedding, laying of warning tape on top, temporary reinstatement. back filling, dewatering if necessary consolidation, disposal of excess earth with in the radius of 500 m etc. or fixed on wall/column/slab with 5mm thick M.S. flat /GI spacer/angle/ support fixed with coach screws/ grouted in wall/anchor fasteners 2mm thick G.I. fabricated saddle, all fixing accessories, etc complete including painting of M.S spacers/angles all as per the attached work specification and instructions of EIC. Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) : Notes: i) Cement for structural works shall be OPC/PPC ISI marked and duly approved by the Engineer-in-charge ii) PPC/blended cement of ISI marked shall only be used for finishing works on prior approval of Engineer-in-charge iii) All RCC work shall be controlled concrete unless otherwise specified and shall be carried out strictly in accordance with the drawings and specifications. iv)The rates for RCC works shall be exclusive of cost of reinforcement and form work unless otherwise mentioned. v) All coarse aggregate to be of 20mm. maximum size & uniformly graded unless otherwise mentioned. vi) For all RCC items, the rates quoted shall include the following without any extra cost to the Department. a)Spacers to maintain clear cover for reinforcement. b)Fixing at correct level and in proper alignment the inserts, pipe sleeves, pipe bends, hooks, other pipe specials etc. supplied by / through the dept. c) Making cutout whereever required including cutting the form works etc. d)Test for Concrete shall be done as per IS 456-2000. and the cost of the same shall be borne by the contractor.
Reinforcement for RCC work including supplying, delivering, storing of various diameters as required at site of work including loading, unloading, transporting, decoiling, straightening, cutting, bending, placing in position at all locations & levels and binding with 18 gauge, soft drawn annealed steel binding wire including carrying out various tests as required etc. all as per specifications, drawings & as directed by the Engineer in charge.
