Earth work in excavation by mechanical means (Hydraulic excavator) / manual means in foundation trenches or drains (not exceeding 1.5 m in width or 10 sqm on plan) including dressing of sides and ramming of bottoms, lift up to 1.5 m, including getting out the excavated soil and disposal of surplus excavated soil as directed, within a lead of 50 m.

a) All kinds of soil.

Clearing jungle including uprooting of rank vegetation, grass, brush wood, trees and saplings of girth up to 30 cm measured at a height of 1 m above ground level and removal of rubbish up to a distance of 50 m outside the periphery of the area cleared.

Structural steel work in single section, fixed with or without connecting plate, including cutting, hoisting, fixing in position and applying a priming coat of approved steel primer all complete.

Painting with synthetic enamel paint of approved brand and manufacture of required colour to give an even shade

Supplying skilled fitter / Blacksmith for cleaning /cutting / removing birds nests, bee hives, weeds, creepers etc. and as directed by Engineer in charge.

b) GB Tower more than 60 m & upto 100 meter height

Maintenance of ground based tower as per following, Fixing of missing/dislocated members, earthing strips, members of working platform, runway . Tightening of nuts to required torque of tower , all components which include antenna fixtures, cable feeder rack, resting and working platforms with hand rails, wave guide rack, wave guide rack support, ladders etc., including fixing all missing GI members, galvanized bolts, nuts and spring washers, etc with cutting/welding, drilling holes wherever required all complete as per approved drawing in all respect as per the directions of the Engineer-in-charge. (Note: Rate includes cost of all operations involved in tightening of nuts, hoisting and fixing missing nuts and bolts, dismembering the bent or deformed members and eshaping/straightning the same in workshop and refixing the reshaped members including hire charges of tools, plants and machineries, insurance premium of labours, etc and nothing extra will be paid. ( cost of missing members, nuts, bolts, spring and plain washers etc supplied shall be paid for aeperately. ) ( The contractor has to submit insurance coverage certificate of labours, site supervisors etc. before starting the work and contractor has to take utmost safety precautions to avoid any mishappening on site) Note.: Agency has to arrange skilled labours for checking of nutbolt tightening and other works by Engineer in charge.

Supplying deficient tower materials (due to unserviceable materials ) at site. The material required for tower, ladder, wave guide rack, antenna fixtures, pipe stand for lightening arrester, nuts, bolts, etc. asrequired shall be provided as per drawings in required lengths including drilling holes for bolts etc. in exact conformity with the approved drawings and as per the direction of Engineer-in-charge.

NOTES:

1. All tower materials shall be hot dipped galvanized. The tower material, fabrication and galvanizing shall be as per relevant BIS and SERC specifications.

2. Measurements:Weight of individual member shall be worked out on the basis of linear measurements and standard coefficients. Nuts, bolts and washers shall be measured for payment.

Extra for Supplying hot dip Galvanised pipes for tower antenna mounts in exact conformity with the approved Drawings and as per the direction of Engineer-incharge.

Providing and fixing lead strips of size 50X50X1 mm at joints of GI earthing strips as per direction of Engineer In Charge.

Providing and fixing copper Lightening arrester of 1500mm length, 25mm dia, hollow tube and of wall thickness not less than 1.60 mm including connecting to the G.I. strip of size 50 x 3mm of earthing by means of clamps and 2nos 10mm dia brass bolts and nuts all complete as directed by the Engineer-incharge. The lightening spike shall be fixed to the tower with Teflon sheet to avoid direct contact with the tower.

Providing and fixing LED aviation obstruction lamp (with minimum 55 LED Bulbs) of Saraj, Binoy, Aviads, Litten or equivalent make with light dependent resistance sensor (day and night automatic timer) with necessary MS brackets, clamps etc., complete, all as per directions of Engineer-in-charge.

Supplying & laying of 2x1.5 Sqmm armoured copper conductor Cable "Armoured ISI PVC Insulated & sheathed cable" of approved quality and brand including copper terminations / Lugs etc. all complete as per directions of Engineer- in-charge. Sheathearthing for the armoured cable shall be done at minimum of two points on the tower as per the standards specified.

Supplying fixing hot deep galvanised GI flats,plates,nut bolts for tower earthing complete , as per direction of Engineer in Charge.

Supplying at site hot dip galvanised iron Nuts/ Bolts with spring and plain washers (5.6 grade) of required size as per bill of material of tower manufacturer and as directed by Engineer in Charge.

Making plate earthing as per the following specifications.

1] Excavation for one pit of size 1.20 x 1.20mt upto 1.50m depth & 0.90X0.90m below 1.50m upto 3.00m from ground level (total 3.0 mt deep) at suitable position near the tower (Cost of excavation will be paid in separately in item of excavation)

2] Providing G.I. Plates of size 600x600x6mm in pit including filling the pit with charcoal 60 Kg and salt 30 kgs.(Or Bentonite powder for earthing 60Kg) for G.I. plate earth electrode in layers & with cohesive soil for remaining pit, providing & fixing 20mm dia G.I. pipe with funnel for watering, funnel to be provided with grating/mesh at top.

3] All the G.I. plate electrode and G.I. flat interconnected with G.I. nuts and bolts and finally G.I. flats connected to ring earth / lightning arrester etc. complete as per direction of Engineer-in-charge

4) After refilling and necessary compaction, fixing of 300mm dia RCC collar alround GI pipe funnel in concrete including necessary excavation so as to encase GI funnel as directeted by Engineer in charge. (Note :- The rate includes all the operations and materials involved and nothing extra will be paid on any account).
