GRASS CUTTING /BUSH CUTTING,PAINTING TO RUNWAY/TAXIWAY MARKING,PME TREATMENT,DTGM,CRACK FILLING,JOINT FILLING AND DRAIN CLEANING IN AIRFIELD AREA AT INS GARUDA NAVAL BASE IN THE AREA OF AGE B/R III NW UNDER GE NW KOCHI

Maintenance of runway shoulders and surrounding area by cutting of grass, plants,shrubs , vegtations and bushes from runway shoulders, taxi tracks, dispersal area and entire air field area by using grass cutting machine with steel blade cutter / nylon wire cutter, of Make grass / bush machine cutter, OLEO MAC OR APPROVED MAKE including removal of all debries from MD land area complete all as specified and as directed . NOTE :- (a) Work under this item shall commence w.e.f 25 Oct 2020 (b) The tenderers are advised to visit the site and make themselves fully aware of the area to be maintained as specified in the Schedule 'A' (BOQ) and particular specifications. (c) The grass ,plants ,shrubs , vegetation and bushes shall not be allowed to grow more than 15 cm from the ground level at any time. (d) Minimum 15 machines with operators (un-skilled labourers) (including fuel/ lubricants and spares etc , comprising of 09 Nos machines with blade cutters alongwith operators and 06 Nos machines with nylon cutters alongwith operators shall be deployed each day for minimum 20 (twenty ) days in a calander month throughout the contract period with minium 6 hours workinh time with minium of 4 litre fuel per mechine in a day. A recovery equal to double the rate for unskilled labourer calculated based on the contractor's quoted rate per head per day will be deducted from any amount due to contractor in case of his failure to comply with the condition for providing minimum number of labourer for minimum number of days given above .Contractor shall deploy un skilled labourers along with tools & plants and machine etc to excute work as per scope of work covered in this contract.Minium area of grass cutting per day per labour shall be 50 sqm. (e) Grass, plants , vegetation and bushes obtained after cutting and maintenance work will become the property of the contractor as included in the schedule of credit which will be removed from the site as directed by Engineer -in- charge . (f) Unit rates quoted by the tenderer shall be deemed to include for the provision of making good the shallow pits, if any, in the specified area mentioned above and cleaning the site of runway air field area and taxi track as specified in the Schedule 'A' (BOQ) and nothing extra shall be paid to the contractor on this account.

M&L for prepeartion of old painted taxi link/ dispersal area surface incl 10cm and exc 10cm width and applying one coat of retro reflective marking paint using Flexo-O-Lite type III high index glass beads on taxi links/ dispersal area complete all as specified and directed .

M&L for prepeartion of old painted surfaces of arrows letters etc on roads, pavements runway & like, exc 10cm width and applying one coat of road marking paint white or golden yellow complete all as specified and as directed . Note : The painted surface shall not show any sign of brush mark or surface underneath . The painting shall stand out boldly. Paint shall be applied in sufficient number of strokes till the desired result is achieved. Second coat shall be applied after specified time period after application of first coat as specified & directed.

M&L for cleaning the surface with wire brushes and make the surface free from dust and loose aggregates and applying two coats of cold polymeric bitumen emlusion ( PME ) mopping of tatal cold liquild PME minimum 1.25 to 2.5 liters per Sqm for two coats ) , each coat diluted in the ratio 1:1 ( PME : Water ) and ensure uniform finish of runway complete all as per manufacturer's instructions complete all as specified and as directed . Note : The tenderer shall take into consideration for the following points while quoting his rate for the items : - (a) No price adjustment shall be applicable if excess qty of cold bitumen emulsion (PME ) than thementioned above is used depending upon condition of the surface to be treated . (b) The work shall be carried out through authorised and qualified applicator of the manufacturer only .(c ) A performance guarantee certificate for one year shall be submitted by the contractor to the GE on commpletion of the works as specified . (d) Special care shall be taken to fill winder gaps / cracks with 0.6mm to 2.36mm size coarse sand mixed with PME as per manufacturer's instructions .

Cleaning open drains upto 1 mtr width(inside) and any depth irrespective of any type of contents from top to bottom & getting out and removing the mud/slushy silt and other waste or dirt to low lying area out side MD land and disposing off including refixing the cover slab in its original position, twice a year,(as and when directed by Engineer In Charge) complete all as specified and as directed . Note:- Disposal of waste removed from the drains will be responsibility of the contractor. Nothing extra shall be paid on this account.

S&F 5mm thick PVC sheet fixed to MS frame work as in DTGM and taxi link markers boards out of premises complete all as specified and as directed .

S&F 75 mm dia PVC pipe as in supports including necessary clamps etc for DTGM boards complete all as specified and as directed .

M&L for writing letters of height 110 cm with coloured luminious tape, colour complete all as specified and as directed .

All as per item No 10 above but of height 85 cm

M&L for cut open the cracks on runway /taxiway in 'V' shape to minimum 20 to 30mm wide & up to full depth of the crack not exc 100mm deep or to a depth as directed by Engineer in charge, clean thoroughly using compressed air or other approved means prime the entire surface with organo saline chemical mixed with water for making the entire surface hydrophobic and ensure perfect bonding and filling the with bituminous base compound SHALITEK or equivalent make as approved, and sprinkling on top to remove the glossy finish , all as per the manufacturer's instruction including removing all debris and other wastes etc and leaving the premises neat and clean , complete all specified and as directed by Engineer -in- charge. NOTE : The tenderers are advised to visit the site area and make themselves fully aware of the area to be maintained/repaired to all runway connected works which shall be done at late working hours if required as specified in Schedule 'A'(BOQ) and particular specifications

Cutting, raking out existing sealing compound from joints of rigid pavements by mechanical/ hand cutter removing the racked out sealing compound from joints, removing the debris and other foreign materials to a distance exc 50m and nexc 150m, depositing where directed and cleaning the sides and bottom of joints by compressor air (diesel driven compressor of suitable capacity) preparing joints to recieve polyurethene joints filling, priming the joints with primer, filling and sealing the joints with suitable polythylene rod and sealing compound of approved manufactures of Techseal Polysulphide sealent RDL 941EH with and including primer, rod and sealing compound and other materails and tools/ plants as required, complete all as per manufactur's instructions complete all as specified and as directed by the the Engineer-in-Charge. for the following joints NOTE : The tenderers are advised to visit the site area and make themselves fully aware of the area to be maintained/repaired to all runway connected works which shall be done at late working hours if required as specified in Schedule 'A'(BOQ) and particular specifications
