Taking out the existing primary runway (17/35 end) airfield lighting cables and light fittings of various types with all accessories carefully without damaging after disconnection of electric supply including excavation/earthwork/cutting of PCC etc and making good the damaged portion including hand over to INS Garuda complete all as specified and directed. Note:- The scope of core cutting of NLB surfaces for installation of edge lights, core cutting of centre line for runway lights is to be undertaken by Users under separate arrangements while installing the runway lighting system.
Core cutting in centre line of runway for making a suitable hole for runway inset light fitting as per site requirement by using modern cutting machine and T & P carefully without damaging to exisiting surface and making good with same material after fixing inset lights complete all as specified and as per executive agency under MAFI
Repairing the existing cracks flexible pavement,width not more than 4 mm wide (average depth of crack25mm),cleaning thorougly with coir brushes followed by an air blower (Air compressor to be used).Filling the cracks with rubberised cut back bitumen with following compositon. (i) Bitumen 80/100 Grade- 95 % (ii) Rubber powder (Passing 600 micron seive) =5%

Preparing by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud, paint & oil etc sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces with gunny bags & air compressor to remove all lose dirt etc., applying evenly a priming coat with bituminous primer at 07 kg/10 sqm using paving bitumen VG-10 grade and complete all as specified and as directed over existing bituminous/ concerte/ WMM surface.
Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) Grade-II laid in single layer as required for grade correction layer of 50mm to 100 mm consoildated thickness with min 4.5% bitumen or actual as per mix design ( whichever is higher) binder content by weight of total mix, (minimum Marshal stability 900 kg) with cement filler as per design mix ( cost of filler materials included in the rate), with paving bitumen of grade VG-30 penetration using hot mix plant (batch type) and laid by using sensor paver, rolled and compacted to requried camber and gradient all as specified in MORTH clause and as directed. Note :- Whereever correction layer thickness exceeds 100mm , work shall be done in another additional layer not exc 100mm thick (consolidated thickness)with tack coat as specified of VG10.The tack coat shall be measured and paid seperately under relevant items.
Supplying laying and fixing by mechanical means 1.5mtr wide self adhesive glass fibre reinforced glass grid size 12.5 mm x 12.5 mm mesh with mean tensile strength 100 KN/ M in both lognitudinal transverse directions conforming to ASTM-6637, ASTM D-276 and ASTM D - 5261-92 specifications rolled by pneumatic tyred roller to form a good self adhesive wrinkle free surface all as directed. Note : (i) The longitudinal overlap 50mm and transverse over lap shall be 100mm. (ii) The net quantity of glass grid shall only measured for payment purpose and nothing extra shall be paid extra for overlaps.
Providing Stress Absorbent Membrane Inter layer (SAMI) over glass grid with and including tack coat of polymer modified bitumen 40 @ 1.60 kg/Sqm and dry stone chipping of size 10-12mm sprayed @10 to 12 Kg/Sqm complete all as directed Note:- The net quantity of SAMI shall only measured for payment purpose and nothing extra shall be paid for overlaps.

Dense Asphaltic Concrete (DAC) of grading I, 50 mm thick (consolidated thickness) using PMB-40 (PMB to be used shall be with minimum 80% elastic recovery & softening point 60 degree , Elastometric Thermoplastic SBS based (IS: 15462-2004) conforming to IRC :SP -53-2002) with 5.4% minimum binder content or actual qty of PMB as per design mix ( whichever is higher) cement filler actual as per mix design ( cost of filler included in the rate) in wearing course, with minimum marshal stability as 1200 kg using hot mix plant and laid by using sensor paver, rolled and compacted to requried camber and gradient complete all as specified.
Dense Asphaltic Concrete (DAC Gde II as per MORTH with minimum Marshal stability as 1400 Kg), 50 mm thick (consolidated thickness) in single layer using PMB -40 (PMB to be used shall be with minimum 80% elastic recovery half thread in ductilometer and softening point 60 Degree Celcious Elastometric Thermoplastic SBS based (IS: 15462-2004) conforming to IRC:SP-53-2002) with 5.6% minimum binder content actual qty of bitumen as per mix design ( whichever is higher) and cement filler as per design mix ( cost of filler included in the rates) actual as per mix design as wearing course, using hot mix plant and laid by using sensor paver, rolled and compacted to requried camber and gradient complete all as specified.
100 mm compacted thick rolled cement concrete base course (referred as Dry Lean Concrete) of compressive strength not less than 10 Kg/ cm2 at 7 days for each consecutive group of 5 cube or individual stregth of cube shall be not less than 7.5 Mpa at 7 days. using cement content as per approved design mix with minimum cement content of 180 kg/cum (OPC) complete all as specified. Note :- DLC under this item is to be provided to a width of 600mm extra on both sides of proposed PQC layer by the contractor for easy movement of slip Form Paver. This extra width however shall not be measured and paid for. However the rate quoted shall be deemed to inclued for this aspect.
400 micron Thick HDPE sheet as per IS10889:2004 all as specified and directed. Note:- Side lap of 150 mm and end lap of 300 mm shall be provided wherever required. The rate quoted shall be deemed to be included for the laps. The net quantity shall only be measured for payment purpose and nothing extra shall be paid for overlaps..

The joint edges shall be bull nosed .and filled with pre formed compressible filler board (HD-100) of requried depth.The top portion ahall be filled with provisions of closed cell polythene backup rod 30mm dia with 2 mm thick debonding tape (minimum depth over back up rod shall be 17-18 mm), 02 coats of priming the vertical side of joints and sealing the joint (Top 14-15mm) with single component polyurethane sealant conforming to requriment of BS-5212 and applying masking tape on edge at joint to prevent accidental spillage of sealant and removing the masking tape after sealant is applied . Sealant should have MAF 30% and manufacturer's warrenty for 10 (Ten) years complete all as per manufacturer's instructions all as specified. (Note:- Area covered by expansion joints shall not be deducted for computing the quantity of PQC)

The top portion of joint (14 to 15 MM) shall be filled with expanded polyurethene foam (armour board), applying 02 coats of priming and providing a backup rod 10 mm dia with debonding tape and sealed with and using single component cold applied polyurethane sealant (Top 12 mm leaving 2-3 mm recess) conforming to requriment of BS 5212 and applying masking tape on edge at joint to prevent accidental spillage of sealant and removing the masking tape after sealant is applied. Sealant should have MAF minimum +30% and manufacturer's warrenty for ten Years complete all as per manufacturer's instrcutions. 150 mm compacted thick granular sub base (GSB) Gde V grading as per MORTH Table 400. deposited and spread in uniform layer with motor grader and, watered and rammed to be true surface and rolled by using 8 to 12 tonne vibratory roller to achieve desired density and CBR (min 20 ) as per MORTH clause 401 and all as directed. Note:- Each layer will be measured and paid for 150 mm consolidated thickness under this scope. 2 layers of 150 mm each required in the scope of work.
75 mm (compacted thickness) WMM in runway with granite coarse aggegate of approved grading, mixed with stone dust all as per IRC 109-2015 in WMM Plant spread with mechanical paver, rolled and consolidated to requried gradient and camber with 8 to 12 tonne vibratory roller complete all as per MORTH clause 406 and as directed. Note:- Each layer will be measured and paid for 75 mm consolidated thickness under this scope. 3 layers of 75 mm each required in the scope of work.

Note (i) :- Horizontal trenchless drilling at first location below runway will be 230 mtrs long at 1.5 mtrs deep and at second location will be 70 mtrs long at 1.5 mtrs deep and at 3rd location will be 50 mtrs long at 1.5 mtrs deep Note (ii) :- HDPE pipe shall be measured and paid seperately under appropriate item of schedule.

Cutting of road surfaces for laying of pipes/ cables

Soil Investigation :- Soil investigation in connection with resurfacing of runway dispersal and associated pavement at INA Garuda, Kochi, i.e., bore hole following laboratory investigation soil samples collected by the agency carrying out the soil investigation as per SP-36 Pt I & II, submit the report of Soaked CBR value in quintuplicate complete all as specified and directed. Note :- CBR Values are required to be taken at flexible pavement and rigid pavement.
