MAJOR RE-FIT FOR VARUNA CAISSON GATE INCLUDING REPAIR/RENEWAL OF VALVE, PIPING SYSTEM, OPERATING SYSTEM, STAGING, SURFACE PREPARATION AND PAINTING AT NAVAL DOCKYARD VISAKHAPATNAM UNDER GE (I) (DM) VISAKHAPATNAM

M&L for Cleaning of underwater hull post docking, external surface of the underwater hull of the caisson gates by High Pressure Fresh water Jet washing (min. pressure3000 Psi) immediately after docking complete all as specified and directed (Note :- Contractor should arrange all tools / plants / machineries for complete cleaning of under water Hull upto the satisfaction of users and a certificate to this effect shall be obtained from the users)

M&L for scaffolding, Positioning and staging for undertaking survey for assesing the quantum of renewal /repairs works, surface preparation and internal / external painting of the caisson gates including internal staging- areas like decks, bulkheads pipe lines and associated structures, tanks etc to facilitate / reaching 100% of every part of the external and internal surface of the entire gate complete all as specified and directed Note :- (i) Size of Varuna Caisson gate 44m (L) x 16.3m(H) and Internal deck width 3m -7m & 3m (ii) Scaffolding items along with other fixing accessries for scaffolding shall be issued by MDS office for free for using & dismantling the scaffolding on completion of work & return to MDS dept under proper issue & receipt vr. (iii) Only provisioning of scaffolding is in the scope of the work in this item)

M&L for preparation of steel surfsces by grit blasting confirming to standard SA 2.5 and applying one coat of Red oxide zinc chrome primer to all External and Internal surfaces complete including top deck, internal deck plates, tidal tanks, scuttle, air and void spaces etc complete all as specified and directed by User Department. (Note :(a) Primer shall be issued by MDS Dept under Sch B free for applying. (b) Grit blasting is to be undertaken under covers to prevent spreading of dust. (c) Equipment, Grit covers, spray painting machines and all other associated items are to be provided by contractor. (d) All painting shall be done by spray painting machine. (e) Primer shall be applied within 04 Hours from the time of blasting).

Labour for repairs / Renewal of steel structure as per survey marking, cutting, fabrication, fixing and welding /bolting made out of MS plate 8mm to 32 mm thick, rolled section such as 'T' frame, angles, channels etc followed by DPT confirming to relevant IS standers complete all as specified and directed. Note :- (a) Plate for the repairs/renewal will be issued under Sch B free for fixing (b) Renewal scope would be based on the hull survey report given by Fabrication Dept (c) Hull repair/Renewal is to be commenced immediately on identification of the areas required to be repaired /renewal as per USG report. (d) Stage inspection by competent authority shall be carried out for marking, cutting, fit-up and final welding.

Labour only for painting Under water hull including boot top of the caisson gate with two coat of anti-corrosive 150 DFT (Microns) each coat, over one coat of Tie coat of 125 DFT (Microns) and three coat of Anti-Fouling 150 DFT (Microns) in each coat all as specified and directed Note : (a) Paint shall be issued under Sch B free for applying. (b) All painting work shall be done by spray painting machine.

Labour only for painting the external surfaces of cassion gate above water area including top deck of caisson gate with two coat of anti corrosice paint 150 DFT (Microns) in each coat, over one coat of primer coat 60 DFT (Microns) complete all as specfied and directed Note : (a) Paint shall be issued under Sch B free for applying. (b) All painting work shall be done by spray painting machine.

Labour only for painting internal area including decks, tidal tanks, scuttle tanks, air chambers, fittings, piping arrangements, bulkhead and other associated fittings and void spaces, gate with two coat of anti corrosive 150 DFT (Microns) in each coat, over one coat of Tie coat 125 DFT (Microns) and three coat of anti-fouling 150 DFT (Microns) in each coat complete all as specfied and directed Note : (a) Paint shall be issued under Sch B free for applying. (b) All painting work shall be done by spray painting machine.

Labour only for Industrial Safery Marking and draught Marking on Outer Hull complete all as specfied and directed Note : - Paint Shall be issued under Sch B free for marking.

M&L Air Pressure Tesing for tidal chambers /Air Chambers Scuttle tanks /Water ballast Chambers with standard practice tanks to be Air Pressure Tested and Proved to @ 2kgf/ sqcm complete all as specfied and directed Note :- Only compressed air will be supplied by MDS dept. other accessories like hosepipe, pressure gauge & suitable size ball valve etc.shall be arranged by contractor

M&L for Visual inspection and INSITU maintenance/minor repairs (if any) for (i) Sluice valves of size NB 600 including joints, nut and bolts with washers, stuffing box, connecting pipes, rubber gasket, seals and associated fittings for the system (as per IS specifications) complete all as specfied and directed. Following shall be checked /repaired during maintenance of the valves :- a). Check and rectifying the leakage through stffing box/gland, body-Dome, Dome-stuffing box and side flange gaskets. b). Check and rectifying noise/vibrations while opening or closing the valve. c). Check and rectifying condition of body seat ring/wedge seat ring faces scratches, dent marks, intactness. d). Check and rectifying if may minor condition of spindle & spindle nut/Yokes sleeve threads. e). Close by-pass valve disconnecting the extension year rod connection. Try to flush away the external object by opening & closing the valve & creating flow to flush it away. Open flanged joint to reach the object and remove it manually.

f). Replace the body/wedge seat rings / graphite gland packing ring g). Tighten the gland gradually and uniformly. h). Replace the gland packing rings . i). Tighten the joint fasteners gradually and uniformly body dome/dome stilting box gaskets. j). Replace the gaskets. k). Re-tighten the flanged joint. l). Remove parallel/angular gap between valve and pipe flanges and rectify m). Replace spindle nut, spindle may also be replaced if the thread are excessively worn-out or damaged. n). Disconnecting the damnatory joint all these procedures requires the upstream and down stream piping and removal of the valve from the gate. . Note : Spares shall be be measured and paid seperately under respective item in this this.

Supply and fixing the 600mm dia (ID), 12 mm wall thickness MS ERW flooding pipe lines in the air chamber inside gate. The work involves the following activities:- (a) Fabrication / Rolling of pipe :- Pipe shall be rolled out of 12 mm thick plate confirming to IS 2062 as per site requirement, (b) Transportation, lowering into the gate chambers. (c) Cutting, unscrewing bolts from 600mm dia. Sluice valve securing the valve in position, fabricate as per actuals, including necessary cutting bending and welding with 600 mm dia (ID) flanges etc,. (d) Renewing of 10mm thick nitrile gasket, bolts, nuts and washers including assembling of 600mm dia sluice valve all as directed. [Note:- The above works are to be carried out at -10 MRL from dock floor level Inside the gate, the entire systems to be tested and proved. Working area is limited & restricted necessary ventilation, blowers, oxygen to be included in the scope].

Removing of wooden fenders of size 400 mmx300mm from the top ofCassion gate for undertaking survey area undeneath and refixig in the same position in same pattern with existing bolts nuts / new nuts / bolts as per site requirement complete all as specified and directed (Note ; New Bolts, nuts and washers if requires shall be measured and paid separately under respective items in this schedule)

Supply only of bolts, nuts and washeres of 30mm dia x 385mm MS long for wooden fender complete all as specified and directed

Supply and fix the musical note rubber water seal for gate, extruded of size 50mm dia bulb 225 x 50mm flange including applying rubber compound for ensuring leak proof complete all as specified and directed including taking out old one.

S&F mild steel work as in Hand rails, half round or other stock section, drilled and counter sunk for balusters running bars, including securing bolts including cutting tops to shape as directed, conforming to Fe-290 Gde E-165 complete all as specified and directed.

Repairs and renewal of Bollards of size 250mm dia (ID)MS pipe wall thickness 9.27 mm arranging for load test as required complete all as specified and directed.

Repairs and renewal of eye hook made out of 30mm MS plate and with necessary stiffening on the gate structure all as specified complete all as specified and directed. Note:- 30 mm Thick MS plate will be issued under Sch B as free for fabrication / fixing.)

Supply and fixing of water tight hatches of sizes 680 x 580mm made out of 12 mm thick MS plate confirming to IS 2062 along with suitable Neoprene rubber gaskets all as specified and directed.

Supply and fixing air vents made out of 80/100 mm dia 4.5mm thick MS pipe all as specified and directed.

Fixing only for sacrificial Anodes of any sizes including transportation from store, fixing and welding internal and external of the gate all as specified and directed Note:- Anodes will be under Sch B free for fixing.
